Insulating properties

The design of the internal insulation of the circuit breaker is based on the unique insulating properties of SF6 gas and the special shape of the contacts and shields that create an almost uniform electric field.

The properties of sulfur hexafluoride SF6 (SF6) used in high-voltage devices (gaseousness, high dielectric strength, inertness) are preserved at normalized density and humidity for the entire service life.

The density of the SF6 gas is ensured by sealing each pole with sealing of detachable joints with rubber rings with controlled compression in grooves of a special shape. The service life of seals for 20 years determines the inter-revision period.

The humidity of the SF6 gas is ensured by the presence of an adsorbing filter in each pole.

Technological operations of testing products for gas tightness and SF6 for moisture, both in the conditions of the manufacturer's enterprise and during commissioning, provide the required initial properties of SF6 as a switching and insulating medium.

The circuit breakers are designed for switching electrical circuits in normal and emergency modes, as well as for operation in automatic reclosure cycles in networks of three-phase alternating current with a frequency of 50 Hz and a rated voltage of 750 kV.

SF6 circuit breakers are a kind of high-voltage circuit breakers, which are a switching device using SF6 gas (sulfur hexafluoride, SF6) as an arc extinguishing medium; designed for operational switching on and off of individual circuits or electrical equipment in the power system, in normal or emergency modes, with manual, remote or automatic control.

The main advantages of SF6 equipment are determined by the unique physicochemical properties of SF6 gas. When used correctly, SF6 does not age and does not require such careful maintenance as oil.

The circuit breaker drive provides control of the circuit breaker - closing, holding in the on position and opening. The drive shaft is connected to the switch shaft by a system of levers and rods.
