AUTOBIOGRAPHICAL NOTE

While the truths presented in this book are scientifically derived and logically organized, like all truths, they were first experienced personally. Repeated throughout life, deep states of awareness began at a very early age, awakening and giving direction to the process of subjective realization.

At the age of three, a full awareness of the conditions and state of existence suddenly came. The non-verbal, but deep and complete understanding of the meaning of “existence” was immediately followed by the understanding that the “I” might not exist at all. There was a sudden awakening from oblivion to conscious awareness, and at that moment the personal “I” was born and the duality between “exists” and “does not exist” entered into subjective awareness.

In childhood and early adolescence, I was constantly occupied with the question of the paradox of the existence and reality of the “I”. The personal "I" sometimes began to merge with the larger, impersonal "I", and the original fear of non-existence - the fundamental fear of non-existence - returned.
In 1939, as a newspaper delivery boy traveling 17 miles on a bicycle, I found myself far from home on a dark winter night when a snowstorm began and the thermometer dropped to 20 degrees below zero. The bicycle fell on the ice, and the fierce wind tore the newspapers from the basket, scattering them across the icy, snow-covered field. I cried from confusion and exhaustion. My clothes were frozen and completely hard. To escape the wind, I broke through the ice crust on a high snowdrift, dug a hole and hid in it. Soon the trembling subsided, and a relaxing warmth came, and then a state of indescribable peace. This was accompanied by an outpouring of light and the presence of boundless love, which had neither beginning nor end and which was inseparable from my own essence.
The physical body and its surroundings faded as awareness merged with this all-encompassing, luminous state. The mind became quiet, all thoughts stopped. The infinite presence was everything, beyond time and description.

After this timelessness, the sudden realization came that someone was shaking my knee, then my father's worried face appeared. There was a great reluctance to return back to the body and everything connected with it, but thanks to the love and pain of my father, the Spirit revived my body.

There was compassion for his fear of death, and at the same time the very concept of death seemed absurd. This subjective experience was not discussed with anyone because there was no context to rely on to describe it. It is not often one hears about spiritual
experiences different from those that occurred in the lives of the saints. But after this experience, the generally accepted reality of the world began to seem just a convention. Traditional religious teachings have lost their significance. Compared to the Light of Divinity, which illuminated all things, the God of traditional religions emitted only a dim glow; Thus spirituality replaced religion.

During the Second World War, dangerous service on a minesweeper often forced one to walk on a razor's edge, but there was no fear of death. It was as if death had lost its authenticity. After the war, interest in the mysteries of the mind led to the study of psychiatry and enrollment in medical school. The psychoanalyst who taught me, a professor at Columbia University, was an agnostic, and we were both skeptical about religion. Psychoanalysis progressed, so did my career, and then success came.

However, I was not satisfied with the calm flow of my professional life. A fatal disease arose that could not respond to any treatment. At the age of 38, I came to the very edge: I knew that I would soon die. I did not care about my body, but my spirit was in a state of great suffering and despair. As the final moments approached, the thought flashed in my mind: “What if there is a God?” And I cried out: “If there is a God, then now I ask him to help me,” surrendered to whatever God was, and fell into oblivion. When consciousness returned, there was such a transformation that there was only silence and awe. The former “personality” no longer existed. There was no personal "I", no self, no ego, only the Infinite Presence of unlimited power that replaced what was "me". The body and its actions were controlled only by the Infinite Will of the Presence. The world was illuminated by the clarity of Infinite Unity. Everything revealed its infinite beauty and perfection as an expression of Divinity.

Time passed, but this presence remained. There was no personal will, the physical body functioned solely under the control of the infinitely powerful, but surprisingly gentle Will of the Presence. In this state there was no need to think about anything. The whole truth was obvious, there was no need, not even the possibility of any conceptualization. At the same time, the physical nervous system was greatly overloaded, as if it was filled with much more energy than it could contain. Effective functioning in the outside world was not possible. All the usual motives disappeared along with fear and anxiety. There was nothing to strive for, since everything was perfect. Fame, success and money had no meaning. Friends urged me to return to clinical practice, but for
there was no motivation for this step. There was an ability to perceive the reality behind the individual, and that the source of emotional illnesses lies in people's conviction that they are these individuals. And so, of course, clinical work resumed and gradually assumed enormous proportions.

People came from all over the United States. The clinical practice included two thousand patients, requiring more than 50 therapists and other employees, a building that housed 25 offices, and research, clinical, and electroencephalography laboratories. Every year brought a thousand new patients. In addition, there were appearances on radio and television. In 1973, clinical studies were described in the book Orthomolecular Psychiatry, in which Professor Linus Pauling participated as a co-author. This work was 10 years ahead of its time and caused a lot of conversation. The overall condition of the nervous system slowly improved, and then another phenomenon manifested itself: a pleasant, delightful accumulation of energy continuously rose up the spine and flowed into the brain, where it created a strong feeling of perfect contentment. Everything in life unfolded synchronously, developing in perfect harmony. The wonderful was everywhere. The source of what the world would call miracles was the Presence, not the individual self. All that remains of the personal “I” is the awareness of this phenomenon. The higher self, deeper than the previous self or thoughts, determined everything that happened.

This condition has been described by others throughout history; this led to exploration of spiritual teachings, including the teachings of the Buddha, enlightened sages, Huang Po, and more modern teachers such as Ramana Maharshi and Nisargadatta Maharaj. This confirmed that these experiences were not unique. Now the Bhavad Gita makes sense. At times there came the religious ecstasy described by Sri Ramakrishna and the Christian saints. Everything in the world glowed and was beautiful. All living beings became radiant and expressed this radiance in calmness and splendor. It has become obvious that all of humanity is motivated by inner love, but is simply not aware of it; Most of life is lived as if in a dream. The people around me looked asleep and unbearably beautiful. It was like everyone falling in love.
I had to stop my usual hour-long meditations in the morning and before lunch because they intensified the bliss to such an extent that it became impossible to function. Experiences similar to those experienced in childhood during a snowstorm came again, and it became increasingly difficult to leave this state and return to the world. The amazing beauty of all things radiated in all its beauty, and where the world saw ugliness, there was only immortal beauty. Spiritual love flooded all perception and all boundaries between “here” and “there”, then and now, and the division disappeared.

Over the years spent in inner silence, the power of the Presence grew. Life was no longer personal, the individual will no longer existed. The personal self dissolved and became an instrument of and subservient to the Infinite Presence. People felt amazing peace in the aura of this Presence. The seekers sought answers, but since there was no longer any one who was my “I”, they actually received answers from their own “I”, which was in no way different from my “I”. The same “I” radiated from every person.

The miraculous happened unexpectedly, surpassing any accepted explanation. Many chronic diseases from which the body had suffered for years disappeared. Vision returned spontaneously, and the need to wear glasses never returned. From time to time, the purest blissful energy of Infinite Love would suddenly begin to emanate from the heart towards the place where some misfortune had occurred and produce a miraculous effect. One day while driving on the highway, this wonderful energy began to emanate from my chest. Around the bend it turned out that there had been an accident; The wheels of the overturned car were still spinning. The energy rushed with force into the passengers of the car, and then stopped on its own. Another time, I was walking through the streets of a strange city, and the energy began to flow to a place one house ahead of me - to a street fight taking place there. The fighting people leaned back and burst into laughter, and again the energy stopped.

Profound changes in perception came without warning in incredible circumstances. The presence suddenly intensified until everything that existed and every person, which seemed separate in ordinary perception, merged into an infinite unity. In the motionless Silence there were no “events” or “things”. Nothing really "happens" because the past, present and future are simply artifacts of perception, as is the illusion of a separate self subject to birth and death. When the limited, false self dissolved into the universal Self of its true source, there came an inexpressible feeling of returning home to a state of absolute peace and relief from all suffering. When a person understands that he is the universe, complete and one with all that exists, eternal and infinite, suffering becomes impossible.

Patients came from all over the world, some of them the most hopeless of the hopeless. Absurd, writhing, wrapped in wet sheets for transport from distant hospitals, they arrived in the hope of curing severe psychoses and incurable mental disorders. Some suffered from catatonia, many remained silent for years. But in each patient, because of their flawed appearance, love and beauty shone, perhaps so imperceptibly to ordinary vision that they became unloved by this world.
One day a girl was brought to the hospital in a straitjacket, in a state of catatonia. She also had severe neurological impairment and was unable to stand. She squirmed on the floor, began to convulse, and her eyes rolled back into her head. Her hair was matted, her clothes were torn, and she made guttural sounds. Her family was very wealthy, so over the years, countless doctors and famous specialists from all over the world tried to help her. Every kind of treatment was tried, and in the end she was declared hopeless.
A brief non-verbal question came: “What do you want done to her, Lord?” Then the understanding came that she simply needed to be loved - and nothing more. Her inner self shone through her eyes and the Self merged with the loving Presence. In that moment, she was healed - through her own understanding of who she really was. What happened to her mind or body no longer mattered to her.

This has happened countless times with other patients. Some recovered from a mundane point of view, some did not, but clinical recovery no longer mattered to the patients themselves. Their internal agony ceased. When they began to feel love and peace within, their pain stopped. This phenomenon can only be explained by the fact that the Compassionate Presence re-contextualized each patient's reality so that they experienced healing on a level that transcended the world and what fills it.
The inner world of “I” has surrounded us beyond time and personality. It was clear that all pain and suffering came solely from the ego and not from God. This truth was silently communicated to patients. Another speechless catatonic who had not spoken for many years had the same mental barrier. “I” told him through his mind: “You blame God for what your ego did to you.” He jumped up from the floor and started talking, shocking the nurse who saw the incident.

The work became more and more intense and difficult. Patients were waiting for beds in the hospital, although another additional building was built for them. It was confusing that human suffering can only be alleviated individually. It was like trying to dredge up the sea. It seemed that there must be some other way to address the sources of major diseases, the endless stream of spiritual suffering and human misery.

This led to the start of research into muscle testing, with amazing results. Between the two universes - the physical world and the world of mind and spirit - there was a “wormhole”, a boundary between dimensions. In a world full of blind people who have become disconnected from their origin, a way has emerged to restore themselves and show everyone that the connection with a higher reality has been lost. This led to the study of every substance, thought and concept that could affect the mind.

Students and laboratory assistants assisted in the implementation of this plan. Then a major discovery was made: while the subjects were debilitated by negative stimuli such as fluorescent lights, pesticides, and artificial sweeteners, spiritual students who had advanced to higher levels of consciousness were not as debilitated as ordinary people. Something important, of decisive importance, switched in their minds. This happened when they realized that they were not at the mercy of the world, they were only influenced by what their mind believed.

Perhaps the very progress towards enlightenment can be demonstrated to increase human capacity to withstand the vicissitudes of existence, including disease.

The “I” had the ability to change the world simply by imagining it. Love changed the world every time it replaced dislike. The entire framework of civilization could be completely changed by concentrating this power of love at a certain point. As this happened, history diverged in new directions.

By now it has become clear that these most important ideas can not only be told to the world, but also visually and irrefutably demonstrated. It seemed that the greatest tragedy of human life has always been that the psyche is so easy to deceive. Disagreement and strife have always been the inevitable consequences of humanity's inability to distinguish true from false. But an answer to this fundamental question was found, a way to restore the nature of consciousness and make explicable what otherwise could only be implied.

Then came the need to leave behind her previous life in New York and everything in it, including the apartment and house on Long Island, replacing it with a reclusive life in a small town. The next seven years were spent in meditation and reflection.

The overwhelming states of bliss returned and there was a need to learn how to be the Divine Presence and still function in the world. The mind lost contact with what was happening in the larger world. In order to conduct research and write, it was necessary to stop all spiritual practice and focus on the world of form. Reading newspapers and watching television helped to remember who is who, learn about major events and the social situation.

The exceptional subjective experiences of truth that are the property of the mystic influence all humanity, sending spiritual energy into the collective consciousness. Such states are beyond the understanding of most people and therefore make sense only to spiritual seekers. This made an effort to be ordinary, because to be ordinary is itself an expression of Divinity. The truth of the real self can be discovered through daily living.

Living with care and kindness is all that is required, the rest will reveal itself with time. Everyday life and God are not separate. So, after a long detour of spirit, there was a return to the most important work, which was to try to make the Presence a little more understandable to the greatest number of people possible.

Presence keeps silence and conveys a state of tranquility - the space within which and thanks to which Everything Is, exists and unfolds. It is infinitely soft and at the same time like stone. All fears disappear with him. Spiritual joy manifests itself on the silent level of inexpressible ecstasy. The sense of time disappears, there are no fears, no regrets, no pain, no premonitions. The source of joy is infinite and eternal. In the absence of beginning and end, there is no loss, no grief, no desire. There is no need to do anything, since everything is already perfect and finished.

When time stops, all problems disappear; they are simply artifacts of the perceptual position. When Presence is dominant, there is no identification with body or mind. When the mind subsides, the thought "I am" also subsides, and the radiating Pure Awareness illuminates that one is, was and always will be - beyond all words and universes, beyond time and therefore beyond the limitations of beginning and end.

People wonder, “How can one achieve such a state of awareness,” but only a few take the necessary steps because they are very simple. First, the desire to achieve this state was all-consuming. Then there was the effort to constantly act with mercy and tenderness - without exception. A person must be compassionate towards everything, including himself and his thoughts. Then came the willingness to put aside one's desires and give up one's personal will at every moment. When every thought, feeling, desire and action was surrendered to God, the mind became increasingly silent.

First he let go of all the stories and paragraphs, then the ideas and concepts. When a person lets go of the desire to keep these thoughts, they no longer achieve such complexity and begin to disintegrate, only half formed. And finally, it became possible to release the energy of the thinking process itself - even before the thought arose.

The task of maintaining constant and unflagging concentration, in which not even a moment's interruption from meditation was allowed, was carried out during daily activities. At first it took effort, but over time it became habitual and automatic, requiring less and less effort until it finally became completely natural.

This process is like a rocket leaving the earth. Initially, launch requires an incredible amount of energy, but then, as the rocket leaves the Earth's gravitational field, less and less energy is needed - and gradually it begins to move thanks to the force of its own inertia.

Suddenly, without warning, a change in consciousness occurred. And the Presence filled everything - unmistakable and all-consuming. There were several moments of foreboding when the Self died, and then the immensity of the Presence gave rise to the rapture of awe. This breakthrough was impressive and more powerful than anything that had happened before. It had no parallel in the realm of everyday experiences. The deepest shock was softened by the love that is Presence. Without the support and protection of this love, man would be destroyed.
Then came a moment of terror as the ego clung to its existence, afraid of becoming nothing. But when it died, it was replaced by the Self as All That Is, where everything was known and evident in its perfect expression of its own essence.

The advent of non-localization was accompanied by the realization that man is everything that ever was, is, or could be. It is total and complete, beyond all individuality, beyond gender, even beyond humanity itself. He will never again need to fear suffering and death.
What happens to the body from this moment on is immaterial. At certain levels of spiritual awareness, all diseases of the body are cured or spontaneously disappear, but in the state of absolute reality such reflections have no meaning. The body will continue life on its predictable course and then return to where it came from. This question is not important, it does not affect Reality.

The body is an “it” rather than an “I”; it is just another object, like furniture in a room. It is better to simply mind your own business and let Providence guide social adjustment. However, when one achieves bliss, it is very difficult to hide this state of ecstasy.
The world can go blind, and people will come from far away to be in this aura. Spiritual seekers and spiritually curious people will be attracted, as will the sick waiting for a miracle; a person can become a magnet and a source of joy for them. Often at this point there is a desire to share this state with others and use it for the common good.

The ecstasy that accompanies this state is not absolutely stable; moments of agony remain. The most stressful ones occur when the condition fluctuates and suddenly weakens for some reason. In these times comes deep despair and fear of being abandoned by the Presence. These falls complicate the path, and overcoming these moments requires great will. As a result, it becomes obvious that a person must overcome this level or constantly suffer from painful “deprivations of grace.” The splendor of ecstasy must therefore be abandoned as soon as one undertakes the difficult task of overcoming duality - until one finds oneself beyond all opposites and their contradictory attractions.

But the happiness of giving up the iron chains of the ego is very different from giving up the golden shackles of ecstatic joy. It seems as if the person is abandoning God, and a new level of fear arises that was unknown before. Such is the final horror of absolute loneliness.
For the ego, the fear of non-existence is terrible, and it runs away from it again and again. Then the meaning of suffering and dark nights of the soul becomes clear. They are so unbearable that their pain pushes a person to the utmost effort to overcome them. When the oscillation between heaven and hell becomes unbearable, the desire for existence itself must be abandoned. Only when this is done can a person finally escape from the opposites of Being and Non-Being, fullness and emptiness. This pinnacle of inner work is the most difficult phase, the ultimate barrier. Having overcome it, a person realizes that the illusion of existence with which he parted is final. From here there is no turning back; the specter of irreversibility makes the final hurdle the scariest choice of all.

In this final apocalypse of the self, the only remaining duality of Being versus Non-Being dissolves into the Universal Divinity, and there is no individual consciousness left to make a choice. The last step, therefore, is taken by God.

The material in the book “The Eye of the Self, From Which Nothing is Hidden” is divided into four main sections.

In the first, David Hawkins talks about his own experience of enlightenment. In the second, it sets an algorithm for searching the spiritual path, noting the main stages and pitfalls that await everyone who follows it. The third section is devoted to the nature of consciousness and the problem of achieving enlightenment. And in the final part, the author answers questions that were asked to him by seminar participants from different countries, specifying some of the ideas expressed in the book.

This piece covers a huge range of materials. It provides not just a detailed presentation of the highest states of consciousness, information about spirituality is summarized and transmitted in a new context, becoming accessible to logic and intelligence.

Strength vs Violence. Hidden motives of human actions

Imagine being able to get a simple yes or no answer to any question you want to ask. Accurate and truthful answer. For any question. Dr. Hawkins believes this possibility exists. It is provided by kinesiology, a science that studies the muscles of the human body and their response to external stimuli.

According to the author, the body cannot lie and, therefore, is a universal measuring device. With its help, we can receive answers to any questions directly from our own subconscious, which, in turn, has a direct connection with the Divine principle.

Today I want to introduce readers to one interesting book - David Hawkins "From despair to enlightenment. Evolution of Consciousness". It makes sense to place it in your home library, or at least download it here http://www.koob.ru/hawkins/. I recommend it due to its unusually holistic, structured approach to a number of complex issues in the field of psychology. Careful reading will help everyone determine where, at what stage of development they themselves are and in which direction it makes sense to move, perhaps discover the reasons for themselves, remember some personal moments. This book does not claim to be the ultimate truth, but it is quite informative. So...

“The omnipresent energy field called consciousness has infinite power; non-linear in its structure, it is timeless. This is the “light of the world”, transmitted from the Unmanifested to the Manifested, from the nonlinear infinite potential moving into its linear expression as the unfolding Universe - the limited perceived physical sphere.

The power of the infinite field of consciousness and its infinite potential manifests itself as matter. Then the surface of Divine Light - as a field of consciousness - in contact with matter leads to the emergence of a unique quality and energy of life itself. Although matter has great potential, it lacks the intrinsic quality or power to evolve to a level of existence called "life." The summation of matter and evolution leads to the measurement of "time". Then, the summation of matter and time is expressed in "space", after which the existence of time, space and matter is discernible to the mind - the aspect of the Divine expressed as Life. That life arises solely from the Divine is confirmed at the 1000 level of consciousness, the level of the Absolute.

The universe can be cognized solely through the presence of consciousness, which is the source of being itself. Thus, consciousness is an indecomposable primary reality in which the linear is perceived subjectively as nonlinear.

Consciousness evolves by ascending through increasing levels, which can be determined according to their relative strength in the same way as when measuring with a light meter or any other measurement of energy waves, kinetic, radio or magnetic components of known levels called the electromagnetic spectrum.

In the 1970s, a clinical science emerged based on the use of life energy and its interaction with the infinite field of consciousness. The result was the specific levels of the map of consciousness, which then became widely known throughout the world - after being presented in a series of books in many languages and in countless lectures given to audiences in the United States, Canada, Asia and Europe.

These levels were divided according to their numerical levels of power on a logarithmic scale from "1" denoting existence, to the highest level - "1000", denoting the highest energy field possible in the human sphere, which only those few who are traditionally called the Great Ones have achieved. Avatars (the founders of the great religions of the world, such as Jesus Christ, Buddha, Zarathustra and Krishna), and enlightened by the Divine presence, which replaced their linear, limited, everyday human consciousness with non-linear Reality. The Self, which bears witness to the presence of the immanent Divine, is sometimes called the Universal Mind in traditional literature. By transcending the ego-Self, it is replaced by the non-ego-Self (see Hawkins 1995, 2001, 2003). This phenomenon is called "Enlightenment".

The emergence of the clinical science of truth has been described in previous works. An important feature of the infinite field of consciousness is that it represents the Absolute, with the help of which it is possible to determine the level of everything else as relative degrees. The mechanism is the existing clinical science of kinesiology, which uses the human nervous system and life energy expressed through the acupuncture energy system as a sensitive biological measuring instrument. (This technique cannot be applied using non-living scientific instruments.) In the presence of Truth, the muscles of the body "gain strength", and in the presence of the false (which is the absence of truth and not its opposite) it is "weakened". This is a quick and short-lived response that determines the degree of truth of the available stimuli.

An infinitely powerful, omnipresent, timeless field of consciousness is comparable to an electrostatic field, which remains motionless unless its calm is disturbed by an electrical discharge of equal strength and opposite sign that activates it. The electrostatic field by itself does not “do” anything - it reacts and records.

Unlike the electrostatic field, the timeless field of consciousness is constant. And therefore it records everything that happens or exists since the beginning of time/space/evolution. The field itself exists outside of time, space and any known dimension. It includes all measurements and cannot be changed by them. The infinite field is omnipresent, omnipotent, omniscient and represents the Absolute, with the help of which comparison of all expressions of evolution or existence is possible.

Everything in the Universe, including a fleeting thought, is forever recorded in the timeless field of consciousness that is present everywhere. Everything that has ever happened, physically or mentally, is equally accessible because the field is beyond space and time. There is neither “here” nor “there”; there is no “now” and “then”. All fullness is equally and constantly present everywhere.

The map of consciousness is therefore very practical and helps to understand the evolutionary levels of consciousness that are overcome on the path of spiritual development, enlightenment or self-improvement. It also provides a helpful diagram of the obstacles that must be overcome to achieve the most optimal levels of consciousness. Numerical expressions do not establish truth; they confirm it...

It is seen that at levels of consciousness below 200 (with the exception of most birds) life can be described as predatory. She gets her energy at the expense of others and, since survival is based on acquisition, she considers others as enemies and rivals. Life up to consciousness level 200 is extremely hostile and self-serving. Because she views others as potential enemies, in modern parlance she would be called possessive, competitive, hostile, and, in extreme cases, aggressive and ferocious.

At the level of consciousness 200, softness appears, that is, in addition to predators, herbivores also appear. Starting from consciousness level 200, the nature of life becomes more harmonious. Maternal care, concern for others, brotherly devotion, belonging to others and the beginning of what would later express itself in human nature as kinship, community, play, family and couple bonding, cooperation for common goals such as survival through social activities appear.

The level of consciousness of people increased slowly. At the time of Buddha's birth, the collective consciousness of all humanity was at 90. It then rose to 100 at the time of the birth of Jesus Christ and over the next two millennia slowly developed to 190; it remained at this level for many centuries, until the end of the 1980s. Then, during the Harmonic Convergence in the late 1980s, it suddenly rose from 190 to 204-205, where it remained until November 2003, when it suddenly rose again to its present level of 207. Currently, the consciousness of approximately 78% of all humanity is below the 200 level, although in America this figure is only 49%. The important thing is that the level of consciousness of almost 80% of the world's population is still below 200 and, therefore, the consciousness is controlled by primitive animal instincts, motives and patterns of behavior (as reported on the evening news).

What is important on the map of consciousness is that the critical level of 200 separates the true from the false. Therefore, levels above 200 increasing logarithmically represent levels of power, and those below 200 indicate reliance on power, whether expressed emotionally, physically, socially or otherwise. This division is expressed in the saying that the pen (ideology) is mightier than the sword (force).

What is especially important is that the physiology of the brain also changes significantly at the level of consciousness 200, which is the level at which the quality of life not only of humans, but also of the animal kingdom, changes, moving from predation to gentleness. This is expressed in the emergence of concern for the well-being, survival and happiness of others, and not just about oneself.

Levels of consciousness according to Hawkins: shame, guilt, apathy, grief, fear, desire, anger, pride, courage, neutrality, willingness, acceptance, intelligence, love, joy, peace, enlightenment.

At every moment in life there is a predominant “normal” state. If you're reading this blog, you're probably at least at the level readiness, because at lower levels you would not have a conscious interest in self-knowledge.

Hawkins came up with the names of the levels. Hawkins talks about the logarithmic scale: there are many fewer people at the upper levels than at the lower levels. Each transition from a low level to a higher level is accompanied by a significant change in life.

A shame(shame) - one step to death. Suicide or serial killer rates. In other words, it is hatred directed at oneself. Guilt(guilt) - a level above shame, but there may be thoughts of suicide. A person thinks of himself as a sinner and cannot forgive himself for past actions.

Apathy(apathy) - a person feels hopeless or torments himself. Complete conviction of your helplessness. Many homeless people are stuck at this level.

Grief(grief) - a level of endless sadness and loss. You can come here after the loss of a loved one. Depression. Still higher than apathy, because the person begins to get rid of numbness.

Fear(fear) - the world seems dangerous and unreliable. Paranoia. Usually a person needs help to rise above this level, otherwise he will remain trapped for a long time, such as in a “suppressive” relationship.

Wish(desire) - not yet burdened with setting and achieving goals, this is the level of aspiration, bad habits and passion - for money, approval, power, fame, etc... Consumption. Materialism. This is the level of smoking, alcohol and
drugs.

Anger(anger) - the level of disappointment, often due to the inability to fulfill desires born at the previous level. This
level can spur a person to action at higher levels, or make him drown in hatred. In “suppressive” relationships (marriage, work, ...) you can often see a couple: one is filled with anger, the other with fear.

Pride(pride) - the first level, when a person begins to feel good, but this is a false feeling. It depends on
external environment (money, prestige, ...) and therefore it is vulnerable. Pride can lead to nationalism, racism and religious wars. Level of irrational self-denial and self-defense. Religious fundamentalists also belong to this level. A person becomes so attached to his faith that you perceive any attack on your picture of the world as an attack on yourself.

Bravery(courage) - first level of real power. Here a person begins to see that life is full of challenges, it is exciting, and not at all overwhelming. There is a hint of interest in personal development, although at this level the person calls it promotion, career, education, etc. A person begins to see his future as growth relative to the past, and not just as its continuation.

Neutrality(neutrality) - it can be described by the phrase “allow yourself to be yourself and others to be different.” Flexible, relaxed and unburdened life. There is no need to prove anything to anyone. A lot of self-employed people are at this level. Very comfortable place. This is the level of contentment and laziness. A person takes care of his needs, but does not strain himself.

Readiness(willingness) - when a person feels safe and comfortable, he begins to use his energy more
effective. Just making ends meet doesn't seem like a good idea anymore. He pays attention to performing well, perhaps even performing at his best. Thoughts about time management, productivity and self-organization appear, concepts that were not so important at the level of neutrality. This is the level of development of will and
disciplines. Such people are the “soldiers” of our society; they do their job and don't complain too much. If you are in school, you are a really good student; you take your homework seriously and put in the time to do it well. This is the level where consciousness becomes more organized and disciplined.

Adoption(acceptance) - a powerful shift now occurs, and the person awakens to the possibilities of an active life. This is the level of setting and achieving goals. A person begins to accept (take on) responsibility for his role in this world. If something in life is not in order (career, health, relationships), he determines the desired state and achieves it. A person begins to see the full picture of his life more clearly. This level encourages many people to change careers and start a new business.

Intelligence(reason) - at this level a person transcends the emotional aspects of the lower levels and begins to think clearly and rationally. Hawkins defines it as the level of medicine and science. When a person reaches this level, he has the ability to use the powers of the mind to their full potential. He now has the discipline and activity to fully express his innate abilities. The person reaches a point where he says, “Great. I can do it all, and I know I have to put it to good use. So what’s the best way to use my talents?” At its extreme, this is the level of Einstein and Freud.

Love(love) is unconditional love, a constant understanding of one’s connection with everything that exists. Think about compassion! At the intellectual level, your life works for the head. But in the end it turns out to be a dead end, you fall into a trap where intelligence becomes too much.
a lot of. You see that you need a broader context than just thinking for your own sake. At the level of love, your head and all other talents begin to work on your heart (not on emotions, but on a greater sense of good and evil - on your consciousness). As I see it, this is the level of awakening to one’s true purpose. Your motives at this level are pure and not
corrupted by the passions of your ego. This is the level of lifelong service to humanity. At this level, you begin to be guided by forces greater than yourself. It's a liberating feeling. Intuition becomes extremely powerful. Hawkins claims that only 1 in 250 people reach this level in their lifetime. (???)

Joy(joy) - a feeling of penetrating and unshakable happiness. Eckhart Tolle talks about it in his lecture The Power of
Now. This is the level of advanced spiritual teachers. At this level, you will feel amazing just being around people. Here life is completely controlled by intuition and coincidences. There is no longer a need for goals and detailed plans - your expanded consciousness allows you to operate with higher concepts. Near death events can temporarily raise you to this level.

World(peace) - complete transcendence. Hawkins says that this level is reached by one in 10 million.

Enlightenment(enlightenment) - the highest level of human consciousness, where humanity is combined with divinity.

THOSE WHO ATTENDED DAVID HAWKINS' SEMINARS have found that the truths he reveals are ideal for Westerners seeking spirituality. His teachings are in close agreement both with ancient mystical teachings and with the requirements of everyday life. The selection was made in such a way that it is convenient for you to focus on one thought, quote or passage at your leisure. No prior experience or familiarity with Dr. Hawkins' work is necessary to benefit from these wise truths. You might want to challenge yourself and apply what you've learned to different life circumstances, or simply meditate on a quote for a whole day. Just keep the book at hand, in a place convenient for you - on your desk, in your car, or in your purse or case. Choose a convenient time each day to read the divine wisdom as taught by Dr. Hawkins.

Quotes and passages were taken from Dr. Hawkins' writings: "Power vs. Force" ("Strength against Violence"); “The Eye of the I: Reality and Subjectivity” (“The Eye of the “I.” On the nature of consciousness”) and others. All passages quoted are exactly as they can be read in Dr. Hawkins' original texts. If some terms are unfamiliar or unclear to you, please use the dictionary at the end of the book. Finally, I leave you with the words of Dr. Hawkins: “Sooner or later, the illusion disappears, and then the spiritual quest begins. When the search vector changes and rushes inwards and not outwards, then the search for answers begins.”

Maybe you'll find some answers inside...

All the best,

Scott Jeffrey

Where to start searching for spirituality

truth or self-improvement,

called enlightenment?

Start with yourself - with the one who

you and what you are. True

hidden inside.

Question: Where do you start in your search for spiritual truth or self-improvement called enlightenment?

Answer: It's very simple. Start with yourself - who you are and what you are like. The truth is hidden within. Use time-tested spiritual teachings for practical guidance.

The world of the ego is like a house of mirrors. The distorted reflections of the lost ego seem to be chasing each other, flashing first in one mirror, then in another. Human life is a series of endless trials, trials and errors; her only goal is to escape from this whirlwind. For many, apparently most people, the world of mirror reflections is sometimes imagined as a house where fears and nightmares reign, in which life is getting worse and worse. The only way out of the whirlwind of wandering is the search for spiritual truth.

Life flows and changes all the time. People are born, suffer, suffer and die. They are accompanied by happiness and sorrow, successes and failures, ups and downs. On the stage of the karmic theater of the universe, the karmic dance of life takes place.

The greatest gift each of us can bring to the world is to become more conscious; Moreover, remember: thanks to the ripple effect, the gift always returns to its source.

The field of consciousness is infinite - Omnipresent, Omnipotent, it embraces All Being. Nothing can happen outside the field, because it is the Source of Being. The infinite field of energy breaks down into levels, the energy of which gradually decreases. As the diversity of energy levels increases, their relative strength decreases (linearity of attenuation) as they descend to the level of the individual or personality. This huge field can be compared to an immense electrostatic field, in which each person is like a “charged particle”. Since the force field is infinite, the individual is inserted into it in accordance with the magnitude of his individual “charge”. The charge of the karmic spiritual body determines determination and determination. Everything that happens happens due to the influence of the field. Thus, there is nothing “random” in the reality around us.

The main goal of our society is success and prosperity, while the goal of enlightenment is to go beyond these narrow limits.

Through wisdom and inner humility, the truth seeker begins to think seriously about the inherent limitations of the human “psyche” (soul in Greek) and no longer relies on the personal, sensory-oriented ego as the only knower of truth.

Spiritual development is not a virtue, but a way of life. He has his own orientation and his own values, and what’s more important is that he gives a vector to our efforts.

To know about a great teaching is in itself a consequence of spiritual effort. But it’s even better to act according to the teaching.

Question: What do you need to do to be useful in life?

Answer: Dedicate (or give) your life to people so that they are kinder, softer, more generous and compassionate - always and everywhere and under any circumstances, so that everyone treats others as themselves. This is the greatest gift to the world that each of us can give.

Spiritual learning is not subject to logic and linear progression. This is more than just the assimilation of spiritual principles and teachings that open the mind and develop spiritual abilities. There is nothing “new” in learning, it’s just that what already exists is something completely obvious.

Spiritual truth in its entirety is contained in any spiritual commandment. It is only necessary to fully and completely comprehend the meaning of one single commandment in order to understand all the others and come closer to comprehending the essence of the world around us.
