Now available on Nintendo Switch and VR, these are at least two reasons to try the Vampire Necromage build, which is one of the strongest builds in the game. In this guide you will find how to become a Necromage Vampire in Skyrim.

How to become a Vampire Lord in Skyrim

Being a vampire in Skyrim has both pros and cons. Of course, everyone will hate you, and going out in the sun is a serious health hazard. But the benefits will help you a lot in stealth.

First you must become a vampire. You can contract the disease called Sanguinare Vampiris, be attacked by a vampire, or be exposed to a vampire weapon. If you are a werewolf, you will be immune. Hircine's Ring will also give immunity.

Sanguinare Vampiris can be cured during the incubation period with a Cure Disease Potion. In addition, you can pray at the altar or ask the Watcher Stendarr. But if you do not take any action within 72 hours in the game, the transformation into a vampire will be completed.

Get Necromage Perks

First of all, take the Necromage perk in the Restoration branch. Then continue building with the perks we've listed below.

Important! Do not take any of the following perks until you become a vampire. Otherwise, you will not receive related bonuses.

When you become a vampire, take as many of these perks as you can:

  • Atronach (Atronach);
  • Atronach Stone (The Atronach Stone);
  • Dead Thrall;
  • Dragon skin (Dragon skin);
  • Double flurry (Dual Flurry);
  • Patch pockets (Extra Pockets);
  • Fists of Steel (Fists of Steel);
  • Invisibility;
  • Stone of the Lord (The Lord Stone);
  • Magic Resistance;
  • Muffle steps (Muffle);
  • Powerful shot (Power Shot);
  • Quick shooting (Quick Shot);
  • Recovery (Recovery);
  • Ritual Stone (The Ritual Stone);
  • The Steed Stone;
  • Protective spells (Shielding spells);
  • Snake blood (Snakeblood);
  • Strong hand (Steady Hand);
  • Wings of the Wind (Wind Walker).

Playing as a Necromage Vampire

Once you become a full-fledged vampire, you will be immune to disease and poison and will be very resistant to frost. In addition, you will be 25% harder to spot when sneaking. But that's not all.

As a vampire, your character will be defined as an undead in the game, so you can take full advantage of the Necromage in the Restoration skill tree. This perk increases the effectiveness of all spells and effects against the undead.

Spells, effects, and equipped upgrades will be increased by 25%. In addition, they will last longer by 50%. Be sure to take advantage of this. You will be able to increase the skill of Alchemy (Fortify Alchemy) by more than 29%.

Peculiarities

Initial version: 1.0

Skyrim: Undeath is an add-on to TESV: Skyrim that gives the player the opportunity, having gone through the road of trials and the search for knowledge, to become a fearsome lich. Undeath adds necromancy-related content to the original game, both new and from previous games in the series. The modification does not change the gameplay of the original game, but adds new features.

The game requires the installation of the official add-ons Dawnguard and Dragonborn.

Undeath questline. A complete storyline that allows the player to discover the secret of unlife and obtain the components needed to transform into a lich.

3 new dungeons. Go down into the network of sewers under Solitude and find out who lives there. Explore the realm of Hermaeus Mora, Apocrypha, in search of dark secrets held there. Players familiar with Daggerfall will be able to return to the Dragontail Mountains and visit the Scourg Barrow, a sprawling network of tombs that was once home to the King of Hearts and his followers.

2 necromantic lairs. Claim two lairs suitable for necromancers and other characters inclined to the dark side as your property, and furnish them to your liking.

New merchant. Find the mysterious "Mediator" and buy poisons, black soul stones, flesh and hearts from her. She will supply you with goods that other traders hesitate to deal with!

The shadow of a ghost. Show your devotion to the black arts by donating great soul gems to a forgotten patron of the necromancers. Awaken dark magic to turn great and large soul stones black.

Poison spells. Spells that poison the enemy have been added to the assortment of magic merchants, which will replenish the arsenal of the necromage.

dark pact. The shedding of blood carries power. Spill your own blood on certain altars and gain the ability to control up to 5 raised dead at the same time.

Additional books. Books about necromancy, new and brought from previous games in the series.

New soundtrack. Soundtrack for all new locations created by Leon van der Stadt.

Voice over. A fully voiced speech from the new merchant and possibly more!

About modification

Skyrim - Undeath is my (one of many in the history of Skyrim modifications) attempt to create an atmospheric "necromantic" mod for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. In the quest line, the player follows in the footsteps of a powerful necromancer and his followers who are looking for the lost secrets of turning into a lich, and foils their plans. As for the secrets, the player himself decides whether to remain buried forever or whether to use them himself. The mod requires two official expansions: Dawnguard and Dragonborn.

This is my personal project, started quite a while ago, I worked on it whenever I had time to sit and work. The ability to overcome the shackles of mortality and become an immortal inanimate lich - this concept has always attracted and interested me. The implementation of such an opportunity within Skyrim required significant efforts.

In many ways, the path to creation skyrim mods, which allows the player to become a lich, turned out to be as non-trivial and difficult as the transformation into a lich itself. I studied necromancy, its origins and history for a number of years in order to adequately implement this process in the game, and I had to master the "dark art" of writing scripts, creating models and textures in order to realize my aspirations. I've seen a lot of great projects to realize this concept, they had great ideas, they started brilliantly, and then ended in failure due to the authors getting stuck or running out of time. Only perseverance, purposefulness and many months of wild experiments, which almost drove me crazy, allowed me to finally solve the problem to a certain extent.

Please note that this is only version 1.0.0, and compatibility with other mods has not yet been tested! Please send me a private message if you encounter unresolved issues and I will try to fix the bugs in the next update. Install the mod at your own risk!

Frequently asked Questions:

Q: How do I start the first quest?

A: The first Undeath quest will start automatically once you reach level 30.

Q: How do I enter the sewers of Solitude?

A: You can enter the sewers from the cellars of the Laughing Rat, Bards College, and Castle Grim. Entrances are also located in the southeastern and northeastern parts of the city.

A: Make sure you search everything and you might stumble upon what he was looking for! The items you've managed to procure may also come in handy...

Q: I started the quest "Transcendental Passage", but where should I go now?

A: Use fast travel to one of the cities of Skyrim and wait for news...

Q: Why can't I use the necromantic altar?

A: To use the necromantic altar, the enchant skill must be maxed out.

Q: How can I diversify my lich appearance?

A: The items you get from completing quests are important and have an impact on the appearance of the lich. You must understand their significance and your choice (creation) will affect the final look. So, for example, there are tailors in Shining Clothes in Solitude, and they use fabric dye...

Q: I'm performing a ritual, but my character keeps dying!

A: Make sure you read the ritual notes carefully! Becoming a lich is a complex process, and one missing ingredient will lead to your doom. Check that you have the ingredients for the ritual and that you are holding the ceremony in the proper place. If the user interface disappears during the ritual, you have done everything right.

Q: I perform the ritual correctly, but I still continue to die...

A: Maybe it has something to do with your character's health points. Make sure your health is at least 100 before proceeding with the sacrament: if you are very weak, the ceremony will kill you!

Q: I perform the ritual correctly, but I do NOT die.

A: Again, this could be related to health points, or possibly the game's difficulty settings (because damage increases/decreases with difficulty). Try lowering your health using a Balance spell or something similar before starting the ritual again.

Q: How do I change spells while in lich form?

A: Press the key responsible for switching to stealth mode, and after a short animation, the spell selection menu will appear.

Q: The spell selection menu does not appear even after the animation...

A: It looks like it may depend on the configuration of the computer, I think sometimes a scripted event is not correctly registered. The problem will be solved if you switch to your previous, human form, and then turn back into a lich.

Q: How can I regain my human form?

A: While in lich form, press the shout/talent key and turn into a human. Note that you won't be able to become a lich again until after some (albeit short) time, so use the transformations wisely.

About installing the mod. Unzip the archive and place the files in the skyrim/Data folder. Please note that if you previously had the English version of the mod, you will need to replace not only the esp file, but also the bsa archive, otherwise some pop-up messages will remain in English.

Necromancy in Tamriel

Necromancy is a science closely related to the anatomy and magic of the witchcraft school. Necromancy is despised and feared by most of the inhabitants of Tamriel. Often this art is illegal, and necromancers are ostracized.

Symbol of the Necromancers of the Order of the Black Worm

Necromancers are magicians involved in raising the undead, they constantly put terrible experiments on their victims, many of them want to achieve immortality by means of magic, some succeed, but not in the sense in which apparently they would like, because they "live" in the form of terrible liches. Necromancers use spells to manipulate dead bodies and relics. They play with life and death, although their ugly walking corpses, which are completely subordinate to their master, can hardly be called alive. It is not known what happens to the souls of the deceased, but, as a rule, if the body was not buried, the soul cannot rest in peace.

What is the main inventory of a necromancer? These are the Necromancer's robe, Necromancer's hood, staff, Summoning spells and black soul stones.

Necromantic obfuscation

As already mentioned, necromancers use more than just magic in their work with corpses. They know anatomy very well and use various means to ensure that the bones and corpses they reanimate last as long as possible:

Although the magic used to raise a skeleton stacks all the bones in the right order, skeletons can be greatly improved by strengthening the joints. Most often, strips of skin are used, which provide additional support to the joints. Some practitioners also fasten the joints with metal pins, which is more expensive and time consuming, but their servants' weakest points are protected. The details are not very important, because even a beginner can significantly strengthen the skeleton. Only with practice can you find the most suitable method for bandaging and strengthening a skeletal servant. One mistake that beginners often make is to bind the joints too tightly, which limits the mobility of the skeleton and renders it useless.

From the book

Different provinces have different feelings towards necromancers. In Skyrim, necromancy is not illegal, but the Nords are suspicious and wary of them, like any other magicians. Cyrodiil necromancers have always been persecuted, but the few who served the empire before the advent of Hanibal Traven were free to conduct experiments without being ostracized:

In Cyrodiil, the few necromancers who serve the Empire obtain the bodies of criminals and vagabonds for legal use. Thus, those who seek appointment to such a post provide themselves with a constant influx of bodies, most of these bodies are young, strong and whole.

From the book

In Morrowind, necromancy was persecuted by the Temple, although some Dunmer rituals are themselves necromantic in nature. For example, the creation of the Phantom Limit by means of magic associated with the use of the bones of the holy heroes of the Dunmer. Some, even during their lifetime, will bequeath their parts of the body to be laid on a ghostly limit in order to put a particle of strength into it. Even the Mages Guild in Balmora has an orc necromancer... In addition, using the souls and bodies of the dead, with the blessing of the Tribunal Temple, the righteous Dunmer can call their ancestors back to Nirn to guard the ancestral tombs.

The service to the ancestors, performed out of love for the Hearth and the Family, is rather cruel. But a spirit or a guardian, a walking corpse or a bone lord summoned by a profane ritual and bound to the body by force, how can such an unfortunate one find peace? How will he find his way back to his blood and clan?

Only a righteous Dunmer, blood connected with the hearth and kindred, who swore an oath to the Temple, can invoke the spirits of the dead Dunmer. These alien sorcerers of other races who have infested our shores, will they really be allowed to plunder our graves, and enslave the spirits of our kind, to steal life from the dead, as they steal land from the living? No, I say, no, no, and a thousand times no. These necromancers must die, and their vile magic must die with them.

From the book

Necromancy is ubiquitous, and the dark arts are practiced in every corner of the province:

It is almost impossible to find suitable bodies in Black Marsh, because they deteriorate very quickly. In addition, there are diseases, Argonians, and other complexities to deal with. I know of only a few necromancers working in Black Marsh, and they stay close to the coast.

While the problems in the forests of Elsweyr are similar to those of Black Marsh, bodies are stored in the desert for hundreds of years, with little to no preparation. Khajiit from the desert tribes often cover the buried with a cairn of stones, which are very easy to find. The Khajiit are very relaxed about our work with graves. They say that in the port of Senchal you can find everything you want. This is true if you want a fresh body.

While some Bosmer prefer the rituals of Arkay, the more primitive Wood Elves tend to devour their enemies, greatly reducing the number of bodies available. As one would expect from such backward people, they are completely intolerant of all manifestations of necromancy. Many necromancers who practice our art in Valenwood become "the ones with the trees" themselves.

Summerset Isle is worse in some respects. Some Altmer, born into the most noble and educated families, openly study the dead. However, during these studies, they are looking for a way to extend their own lives rather than developing our art. A necromancer of any other race captured on the Summerset Isle can expect the worst of punishments.

In Hammerfell, where most of the population worships Arkay, the dead are buried according to his law. The exceptions are battles in remote areas, when people die away from the priests. Fortunately, the dangerous terrain and the many monsters in the mountains and deserts of Hammerfell make it possible to obtain bodies, although they are often in poor condition and require special preparation.

The newly formed Orsinium provides unique opportunities. As you know, orc bodies are highly valued for the strength of their skin and bones. If King Gortwog will listen to reason, we can offer him the services of our art to protect the young state in exchange for the use of dead orcs. It is certainly a win-win arrangement, and I have no doubt that the orcs will see how reasonable this is. At the moment, a delegation has already been sent to Orsinium, however, we have not yet received information about how the negotiations are going.

In my native High Rock, traditions dating back to witch kings and nomadic horsemen require the ritual burning of the dead. It is practiced almost universally in the north, and imperial burial in a tomb or city cemetery is more common in the south. Many bodies remain to this day on the battlefields of the Concrete War and the lawless times that followed. There are even rumors that King Gotrid of Daggerfall is going to donate the bodies of criminals to necromancers to intimidate the bandits and pirates who still threaten the Iliac Bay.

In Skyrim, the cold weather and isolated territory allow few necromancers to operate freely. Alas, the available bodies are limited to those Nords who die on the battlefield or on campaigns. Although the bodies are well preserved due to the cold, they are difficult to find due to the snow. Research into magical body detection can prove invaluable to Skyrim necromancers.

From the book

While necromancy was legal in Tamriel until it was banned by the archmage Hannibal Traven in 3E 433, the art was viewed with suspicion. After such a ban, the Mages Guild lost many of its members. In addition, the Guild of Mages put a ban on black soul stones, which were intended to anger the capture of the souls of intelligent races. Not all necromancers are fanatics of Mannimarco, some are engaged in it solely for their own interests. In 201 4E, for example, a certain group of necromancers tried to subdue the soul of Potema Septim. However, many necromancers are still adherents of the Black Worm cult.

Order of the Black Worm

They are a secret group of wizards who obey and worship Mannimarco, the King of Hearts. In addition to calling the dead and working with the bodies of the dead, they also practice destruction magic, some do not shy away from calling the Daedra.

The orders of the black worm are feared and despised, but this fear does not grow out of fear of being killed, but because of the fear of losing one's soul in battles with them and becoming one of the slaves of their army in a dead body. There is no reliable information about joining the order, however, thanks to one of the members of the Guild of Mages, the structure of the cult is known:

A typical cell of the Order, informally referred to as the "Nest of the Worm", is led by a necromancer who bears the title of "Anchorite of the Worm". Anchorite reports directly to Mannimarco, but we still do not know how they communicate with each other. Under Anchorite's command are adept necromancers, the Warriors of the Worm, and servants called Slaves of the Worm. New cultists are lured with promises great strength, received as a reward for loyal service, and they all swore to keep the secrets of the order under pain of becoming undead.

Regional offices receive orders through the cell.

From the book:

Some necromancers make deals with Ideal Lords - the mysterious rulers of the Soul Cairn, a Daedric prison plane for captive souls. Such deals usually end badly for the necromancers themselves. Also known is the Dragon-necromancer - Durvenir, engaged in secret arts and forever imprisoned in the Cairn of Souls for a deal with the Ideal Lords. The rest of the dragons nicknamed him "Alok Dillon", which means "Necromancer" in dragon language.

Not far from Winterhold, there is an island with the city of Olenveld, which Tiber Septim used as a personal cemetery. The city has long been abandoned by everyone and is not marked on any map older than 2E. The only living place is the building of the Guild of Mages, where the necromancers settled after the prohibition of the dark arts by Hanibal Traven.

Among the spray raised by the waves crashing against the shore, one could see two dilapidated statues at the entrance to the harbor, depicting some long-forgotten gods or heroes. The ships in the harbor were half-submerged, pitted with salt and covered in shells. Munten moored his ship, and they went to inspect the abandoned city.

Taverns with broken windows, a square with a dry well, ruined palaces and burnt houses, empty shops and stables... Everything was abandoned, quiet, and nothing disturbed the evening calm, except for the ocean wind howling in the wastelands. And there were gravestones everywhere. There were tombstones on every road, on every street.

From the book:

Even before the "Warp of the West", vampires were seen near the necromancers of the Order of the Black Worm. It is not known whether they were part of their ranks, were simple mercenaries or servants of the order. But a certain connection nevertheless took place, and perhaps it still takes place to this day.

Powerful necromancers can live after death as dire liches. Liches are powerful undead with powerful magic. Necromancers become liches after performing special rites.

One of these liches was Lorgren Benirus, who gained some power with the help of the Tome of Unlife. Benirus Manor was ravaged by the inhabitants and the Anvil Mages Guild, Benirus himself was buried in the basement of his house. The estate was cursed for many years, until in 3E 433 the Champion of Cyrodiil destroyed the lich, freeing the house from the ghosts that inhabited it.

Another famous lich is the king of Miskarkand. The Ayleid capital of Miskarkand fell in 1E 242, the city's king was killed by Pelinal Highstrake and reborn as a lich. Once again, the Champion of Cyrodiil intervened. During the Oblivion Crisis, the king of Miskarkand was killed, this time in the form of a lich.

The most famous lich is, of course, the Underground King. It is not clear if he is the lich in the usual sense, or is it just a name for the resurrected Woolhart. After the events with Numidium during the ascension to the imperial throne of Tiber Septim, the Underking became his former battle mage - Tsurin Arctus, who was subsequently killed by Numidium.

As we have already understood, necromancy has taken root in all provinces, in every state, but it remains a mystery where the very art of necromancy came from? Who could have come up with the very idea of "living" in a dead body, who is immoral enough for such actions? There is no exact answer to this question, but most likely they were Sloads.

Sloads of Thras

Sload

The Sload are the most famous necromancers, but little is known about their native Thras. In Tamriel, the Sload only practice necromancy on other races. Nobody knows if the same thing happens in Thras. If so, this explains the number of slaves supplied to Thras by slod traders and rumors of sload airships carrying bodies from Senchal.

From the book

The Sload are the slug-like, obese inhabitants of Thras. Disgusting in appearance, they have a high intellect and excellent knowledge of the school of witchcraft, which makes them excellent necromancers. A confirmation of their incredible power is the Thrassian Plague, sent in 2200 1E to Tamriel. This attack mowed down almost half of the inhabitants of the continent.

N "Gasta is one of the famous sload necromancers of the second era and the author of the book.

Despite their strength, these creatures cannot oppose the people and measures of Tamriel due to their physiology. Barely able to move, the Sload may have been stuck in Thras forever.

Rumors have it that after the "warp of the west" the Sloads began to worship Mannimarco as a god, which may be evidence of the unseen power of the King of Hearts. Can he create something stronger than the Thrassian Plague?

Biography of Mannimarco

Mannimarco

The exact date of his birth is not known. He lived on the island of Artaeum and studied with Vanus Galerion, the founder of the Mages Guild. It was on Psijic Island that he began to practice the art of necromancy, and was one of the best students along with Vanus Galerion, with whom they had a strong friendship.

The discord with Galerion began precisely because of his addiction to the dark arts. After their training, the Psijics sent Mannimarco to the mainland, most likely because they themselves did not like their student's hobby and did not want to have anything to do with the consequences of his experiments. Following Mannimarco, his friend went to the mainland, pursuing his own noble goal - to make magic available to all residents of Tamriel. Thus the Guild of Mages was born.

After arriving in Tamriel, Mannimarco gains a certain influence and followers of necromancers. He made a deal with Molag Bal and gained great influence over the family of the self-proclaimed Emperors of Tamriel. Being close to one of the candidates for the Emperor, Count Varen of Cheydinhal, Mannimarco plotted until the day of the coronation arrived. By deceit, he perverts the magic of the Amulet of Kings, thereby performing a Soul Explosion in the Imperial City. After that, the fire of Oblivion began to blaze in the lands of Tamriel, and hooks began to appear from Coldharbour, dragging Nirn into Oblivion.

Only when the coronation ritual took place in the temple of the One, as in ancient times, did we see the scale of the Mannimarco conspiracy. His magic, placed on the seals of the temple, corrupted the Amulet's magic and caused the disaster known as the Soul Explosion. I remember little of what happened, but I can say one thing: the chaos was monstrous.<…>

<…>The catastrophe foretold by the Prophet came a few days later: vast swaths of the Empire were consumed by Daedric fire, and the first Dark Anchor fell to the ground.

Molag Bal's invasion has begun. And it became possible thanks to the betrayal of Mannimarco.

From the book:

After this event, the Necromancers and the Order of the Worm became the legitimate power of Cyrodiil, and those who disagreed with this state of affairs were actively "persuaded". Mannimarco becomes a lich, that is, essentially acquires immortality. Galerion, unable to stay idle any longer, opposes his former friend, who has turned into a terrible monster. In this battle, Galerion and Mannimarco are killed.

A blasphemous cry rang out, and the toothless mouth opened wide.

And with each exhalation, spewing curses,
And the air is filled with this feces, stench,
He extinguished the moon and stars, plunged the world into darkness -
He fought sparing no effort, but still fell in battle:
The King of Hearts has left the world, he is forever cast into oblivion.

The world has been rid of vile filth, and the necromancers fled away,
Forgetting to take the damned creations into the darkness with you,
That since then they have found peace under the strict supervision of magicians.
Since then, the bright light that has been lit by magic has not faded:
Although many years have passed, Galerion rested,
But the history of the tablets keeps the memory of his deeds.

And yet, on dark nights, when the whole city falls asleep,
When the moon in the sky sleeps in silent silence,
And only in the cemetery the lights sway in the darkness,
My friends, at that hour of the night cherish only one thought
That there is peace after death. Pray and hope
That no mortal knows the power of the King of Hearts!

From the book

By the time Tiber Septim arrived, the chaos had already been stopped, but in 405 3E, as a result of the "Warp of the West", Mannimarco reappeared and received divine power from Mantella, and many began to worship him. Mannimarco disappeared from Tamriel for almost thirty years, people said that Mannimarco went to Thras, where the Sload worship him as their god.

Mannimarco returned again in 433 3E. His cult began to gain strength again. Many cultists of the Order of the Black Worm pray to their patron.

A ghost, the Moon of the Necromancer, is watching us. The form of Him, having acquired Divinity, took its rightful place in the sky and closed us from the enemy, Arkay, so that we could serve Him. When the heavenly light descends on us, look for signs, hasten to His altars and make sacrifices so that He will grant you at least a fraction of His true power.

From the book:

Be that as it may, with the help of the soul stone in which the soul of Archmage Traven was imprisoned, the Champion of Cyrodiil received protection from the magic of the Black Worm and defeated Mannimarco, it is not known whether he was defeated forever, or whether he will appear again, centuries later.

Chronological summary of events related to necromancy

Necromancy, commonly known as the "Black Art", originates in a time when there were no written sources yet. All ancient laws strictly forbid it on pain of death, but the adepts of magical art continued to study it anyway.

The Psijic Order of Artaeum, the forerunner of the modern guild of magicians, also forbade its use, not so much because of its danger, but because of the belief in holy and unclean ancestor spirits that declared necromancy to be heresy. But again, despite this prohibition, we often hear stories about students and masters who have allowed themselves to challenge this judgment. When Vanus Galerion left Artaeum, he disagreed with the Psijics on many things, but he also forbade the teaching of necromancy within the guild.

Nearly 1,100 years have passed since the days of Vanus Galerion, and since then, the guild has had many archmages. The problem of learning necromancy came up again and again. The condemnation of this occupation by the guild has never lost its relevance, but the actual attitude towards this prohibition has changed over time. Some archmages were inclined to strictly monitor the implementation of this code, some actively fought against it, and it was said about some archmages that they themselves were necromancers

From the book:

It is possible that the Sloads of Thras were the original inhabitants of Summerset, and their attempts to reclaim the islands might be viewed with sympathy were it not for their methods. Physically unable to fight due to their massive physique, the Sload attacked the Altmer with necromancy and diabolical mechanisms. Although they were never able to retake Summerset, if that was their goal at all, the Sload spread nightmares that have not been forgotten to this day.

1E 1301

Plundering Skywatch by the Slows in Summerset.

1E 2200

The Thrassian Plague wipes out over half the population of Tamriel. Blight was sent by the Slow tribes of the coral kingdom of Thras. Bendu Olo, the Colovian king of Anvil, marches against Thras at the head of his mighty fleet and destroys the Slows (though not completely).

1E 2260

The Thrassian Plague nearly wipes out the Khajiit race. Of the 16 tribes, two remain, Pellitain and Anequina.

1E 2911-2917

The Sload of Thras launch a new attack on the Summerset Isles called the Uvicila War.

Beginning 2E

Odren of the Black Worm is formed - an order of necromancers led by Mannimarco.
Mannimarco was one of the Psijics and a friend of Galerion, the founder of the Mages Guild.
During the existence of the Order of the Black Worm, Mannimarco was able to create such famous artifacts as the Necromancer's Amulet, the Earthworm's Helmet and the Staff of Worms.

Interregnum

Mannimarco has gathered a huge army of the undead. Conspiring among the ruling elite of Cyrodiil, Mannimarco staged a "Soul Explosion" in the Imperial City. He enlisted the support of the new Empress Clivia Tharn, the order gained unprecedented power, and necromancy became legal on the territory of the empire. Mannimarco collected necromantic manuscripts and artifacts from across Tamriel and made an agreement with the Daedric Prince Molag Bal. The only one who dared to stop the King of Hearts was Vanuss Galerion. In a major battle, they both died.

3E 120-127

War of the Red Diamond. The Wolf Queen aka Potema Septim used necromancy to fight her family. Solitude began to be called the "dead city" towards the end of the war because of the undead roaming in it. The main forces of Potema are the undead, led by the Vampires.

3E 137

Queen Potema dies a month after the siege of her castle began.

V 3E 405

Morgia, daughter of Queen Barenziah, who was in Wayrest at the time, made a secret pact with the King of Worms, who at that time settled in the Barrow of Calamity in Dragonspine. Using the influence of the King of Hearts, she was subsequently able to become Queen of Firsthold.

B 3E 417

As a result of the "Warp of the West", Mannimarco acquired divine power from Mantella, after which he left the Mound of Calamities, going to the coral kingdom of Thras, whose inhabitants have long been known among the inhabitants of Tamriel as one of the most powerful necromancers. The Sload began to worship Mannimarco as a god. The Sload no longer show any interest in the waters of Tamriel.

B 3E 433

Hannibal Traven bans necromancy. Necromancers are persecuted. Mannimarco appears in Cyrodiil and there is a confrontation between two opposing magical organizations, as a result, the archmage Hannibal Traven, and Mannimarco died.

However, whether the famous King of Hearts really died, or whether there was an incident similar to what took place during the confrontation between the Order and Vanus Galerion is unknown, as well as the further fate of the Order.

4E 201

There are serial murders in Windhelm. With the help of a necromancer's amulet, a local museum worker is trying to "bring back to life" his beloved.

In the same year, in the Wolf Skull cave near Solitude, an association of necromancers is trying to summon and subjugate the spirit of Queen Potema. The necromancers were thwarted, the ritual was not completed, but the spirit of Potema nevertheless appeared in the dungeons of Solitude. The same unknown hero banishes the spirit from Solitude forever, handing over her remains to the priest of Arkay to perform the necessary rituals of repose.

This is one of the artifacts of the King of Hearts - Mannimarco.

The magic staff is completely made of bones, the head of the staff is a human skull. The staff has the power to resurrect the dead, but they will only be dumb zombies.

Volume of Unlife

The text on the first page is translated into English as follows:
"The first" "The last"

In Russian it will have the following translation:
"First" "Last"

The purpose of the book is not known for certain, but it most likely contains the secret of how to become a lich.

black disc

The two-volume book describes a mysterious black disk covered with runes, along the perimeter of which there was a ring of red-orange stones that looked like bones.

One can only guess about the exact properties of the stone. However, it is known that in the book "Palla" a student of the guild of magicians Mir Korrup was able to revive some ancient monster with the help of it. All it takes is love and the name of the one you need to bring back to life.

Crimson Skull Book

It is not known what the book can teach and where it is located. It is only known that it is older than magical schools. Shalidor - the great magician of antiquity, the founder of the College of Winterhold and magical schools, believed that the book was lost. However, according to rumors, during the interregnum, Mannimarco found this artifact.

Dead Thrall

The temporary spell is no match, because some time after the resurrection, your faithful corpses will forever turn into ashes, but thralls will not. Right choice one or two thralls can be a great help for long hours of your wanderings in various parts of the province.

P receiving a spell

First you need to improve your skill Affliction up to level 90 . To do this, visit the ancient Nordic and Dwemer reserves as often as possible and focus on the school of Witchcraft. Free Tip for the Lazy: Spell Soul Capture your horse also pumps this skill.

Then find a professional sorcerer Finis Gestor at the College of Winterhold and complete his task to find a volume of ritual spell , which he will give you as soon as you cope with the previous paragraph of the program. This quest does not turn off the marker, unlike the quest with the search for spells of a similar level in the school of Destruction, so it is not so difficult to complete it. As a result, the sorcerer will have a volume on sale Dead Thrall, and you will become the proud owner of this spell.

outcasts

Numerous camps of militant natives of the Reach are an indispensable source of strong and durable warriors for many necromancers. Ordinary outcasts have the following gradation by levels:

  • Level 1 = Outcast , Outcast shaman
  • Level 6 = Rogue hunter
  • Level 14 = Outcast earner
  • Level 24 = Outcast robber
  • Level 34 = Outcast Ravager
  • Level 46 = Rogue Warlord (Need the Necromage perk)
  • Level 7-51 = Outcast Heatherheart (a level 51 outcast cannot be resurrected, but can be obtained from a similar level 38 outcast, see the example of the Volkihar master vampire in useful tips)

Outcast Warriors always use two swords in an attack, while doing a lot of damage and not blocking the opponent's attacks.

Outcast Mages call on ice atronachs to help and throw ice spears at the enemy.

Outcast Archers use a bow for shooting, which can be improved on a grinder almost twice if you have studied the perk steel armor in skill Blacksmith .

All Forsworn can be equipped with any other Forsworn armor. They can be upgraded at the forge without using any perks. If you raise two outcasts of the same type, then you can easily tell one from the other with the help of tattoos on the face or hairstyles.

Vampires

Another great source for your dark necromantic experiments is vampires. They do not shine with a variety of combat tactics, and are also very vulnerable to fire, but their strength is great. Vampires have the following gradation by levels:

  • Level 1 = Vampire Apprentice
  • Level 6 = Vampire
  • Level 12 = Blood vampire
  • Level 20 = Vampire Shadow Guide
  • Level 28 = vampire night hunter
  • Level 38 = Ancient Vampire
  • Level 48 = Volkihar Vampire (Need the Necromage perk)
  • Level 14-42 = Master Vampire ( Need Necromage perk if vampire level is over 40)
  • Level 53 = Volkihar Master Vampire (it is impossible to resurrect, but you can get it, about it in useful tips)

At unique trails

Ulfric Stormcloak

Ulfric Stormcloak - Jarl of Windhelm and the leader of the rebellion, being a thrall, can use shouts.
You can get the coveted corpse at the end of the storyline civil war for the Imperial Legion.

Orkendor

Orkendor- A powerful magician who leads the possessed in the Dwemer fortress of Batardamz will be able to teleport.
He is the main target in the quest of the Daedric Plague Prince, Peryite.

Cicero

Cicero- the guardian of the Night Mother in the Dark Brotherhood and a skilled killer in the form of a jester, will sometimes dance.
Cicero can be killed during the passage of the Dark Brotherhood storyline.

Unfortunately, many important opponents have the same level as the player by default, so after level 50 they will not be able to be resurrected.

Companions

If your companion (alive) dies and his level is less than 50, then you can resurrect him as a thrall, but after moving to a new territory, he will change the equipment to the one that he had by default.

Helpful Hints

  • The maximum level of a humanoid that can be resurrected using the Dead Thrall spell is 40 by default. Necromage in the school of restoration, which gives 25% effectiveness to all spells against the undead, this level rises to 50.
  • Dead thralls progress in level with the player. This means that after a certain level, you can only resurrect level-limited humanoids.
  • Thralls do not turn to ash upon death. Don't raise them again with a normal resurrect undead spell unless you want to see a mound of bluish ash where the thralls were in a couple of minutes.
  • You can use dead thralls as unlimited storage for your items, but you only have access to their inventory when they are, pardon the pun, dead. But, after the exchange of equipment, you can resurrect them again.
  • To put a thrall to rest without any problems, use elemental cloak spells, for example, Fire Cloak .
  • Resurrect two frost mages, give your companion the Rose of Sanguine, and you will become the proud owner of a whole small army: you + your ally + Dremora + two thralls + two frost atronachs + your horse (if you have one, of course).
  • Dead thralls are armed with whatever equipment you place in their body before resurrecting (this requires moving to a new territory). Unfortunately, with the exception of shields and weapons, this equipment must be exactly the one in which they died. That is, you can remove the armor put on it from the corpse, improve it in the forge and put it back on, but you cannot put on any other armor of the same or another type. Outcast thralls can wear any outcast armor, not just the one in which they found their death the first time.
  • If you are level 53, you can upgrade your level 42 Vampire Thrall to a level 53 Volkihar Vampire. To do this, you need to surrender to the authorities for illegal entry into someone else's home. When you move to another location, your trell will level up. But you will no longer be able to resurrect the Volkihar vampire after his death.
  • To store inactive corpses, use places like the Rampant Flask and the archmage's quarters. During the course of the main story, your house will be attacked one day and all the corpses stored there will disappear.
