Team Zenimax Online Studios released The Elder Scrolls Online back in May last year, but fans of the series haven't given up on the dream of playing in multiplayer mode. As it became known to the site, modders have released a modification for Skyrim, which adds cooperative multiplayer to the game.

A mod called Tamriel Online allows you to plunge into the world of Tamriel in 2011 with your friends. However, the author of the Siegfre modification noted that he did not test his creation properly. In other words, the modification can simply spoil the whole experience, but at the moment the author is collecting feedback from the players in order to correct all the shortcomings in the future.

At the moment, some problems with the crash of the game after the death of players and between loading screens have already been fixed. Some fans have already confirmed that Tamriel Online works for 2 or more players. However, the mod is currently missing several key gameplay elements. For example, when one player attacks NPCs and monsters, they do not appear on the other's screen.

Be that as it may, players note that even in an unfinished form, the mod allows you to experience unusual sensations and make the game interesting again. According to Gamebomb.ru, Siegfre has been developing his mod for only two weeks, and this is his first skyrim modification. However, he has already managed to get further than anyone who has ever tried to implement multiplayer in a game.

Tamriel Online- multiplayer modification for the game The Elder Scrolls V. In foreign networks, this mod is called Tamriel Online. At the moment, it has synchronization for the main elements of the game, as well as a cooperative passage mode.

Latest version:
Tamriel Online v2.4.1 (20.08.2016)
You may have noticed that all previous versions were unstable and often simply did not work. Right now, player sync is working quite well, but if there are a lot of NPCs around, there may be some glitches.

List of changes:
- Synchronization of quests. Previously, synchronization was built on the use of console commands which was quite unstable. In this version, quests are filtered and only those that are currently being completed by players are synced. After receiving the quest, its goals will be completed sequentially until they come to a logical conclusion.

NPC sync. This stage of development is the most difficult and takes a lot of time. What is really needed is stability. To this end, basic interpolation has been added in an attempt to take some pressure off the server. In addition, NPCs will now update much more frequently as the player approaches or moves away from them. The update occurs in a checkerboard pattern, with the least amount of time spent, so that the client has time to build a small list of NPCs that are currently in sight.

Synchronization of time and weather. Bugs have been fixed that were incorrectly assigning a player as a server host.

The mod now uses a different launch method, which should fix issues with launching it. With synchronization appearance and clothing should not be a problem at all now. Work on improving stability will continue in future versions, provided that this one shows fewer problems than all previous ones.

Tamriel online is an online Skyrim mod that allows you to play the game with your friends. The mod was created for the purpose of cooperative passage with or without mods. This is not an MMO! modification. It is by no means meant to be played by "over 1000+" players on a single server. The author of this mod believes that Skyrim is a wonderful game that will become much more exciting when played cooperatively with friends. Tamriel online will allow you to interact with each other as much as possible. In order to raise your server locally or through a dedicated server, you need to run software Tamriel Online Server. Accordingly, to connect to a friend - "Tamriel Online Client".
Instructions: how to play Skyrim in co-op (server creation)

3. Find out your IP address in one of the ways described below:
a). Press the key combination "Win" + "R". Enter the "cmd" command. Enter the command "ipconfig" into the console
b). We go to the 2ip website and look in the column - your IP address.
4. Open the TamrielOnline.ini file with a notepad and enter your ip address in the "connectionip =" line.
5. Launch the game server itself via TamrielOnline_Live_Server.exe
6. Run Skyrim, create\load a game character.
7. Press the "Home" button on the keyboard - at this point the game should connect to your server by itself.

Instructions: how to play Skyrim in co-op (server connection)

1. To play skyrim online, of course, you need to install the game itself.
2. Next, download the archive containing the client files with the server (actually the mod itself), and unpack it into the game folder.
3. Find out the IP address of the server you are going to connect to.
4. Open the TamrielOnline.ini file with a notepad and enter the ip address of the server in the line "connectionip =".
5. Run the game (make sure you have the in-game scripts extension installed, and also install Script Dragon - you need to drag the “bin” folder and the “pluginsrc” folder into the game folder).
6. Create\upload a character.
7. Press the "Home" button on your keyboard - at this point the game should automatically connect to your friend's server.

A few notes about this Skyrim multiplayer mod:

1. The mod is still under development, you should not expect it to be fully functional without bugs.
2. If the server does not have an external ip address, or it is under NAT, you can always use programs such as Hamachi, Tungle, Evolve, etc.
3. The mod requires the opening of port 1283.
4. Tamriel online is currently unable to sync NPC positions. This means that your friend will have a dragon flying nearby when you can't see the dragon.
5. To date, the following game parameters are synchronized:
Character positions (yours and your friend)
Turns of players in the world
Fast crossing (carriage between cities)
Armor sets
The weapon that is in your hands
Body composition of your characters
Running, jumping, walking, stealth mode.
Combat animation
On my own behalf, I want to say that at this stage it is already possible play with a friend in skyrim and get a lot of new impressions from it.
In the next update of the mod, the author promised to write synchronization between game characters (NPCs).
For quick access to information, and subsequent updates, the mod page will be added to the right side menu.

Solving some technical problems of the mod:

Problem: I have a laptop and there is no home button.
Solution: Change the Home key code ("key=0x24") in the TamrielOnline.ini file to any other key code.

Problem: My character doesn't sync across other computers.
Solution: Double check that your firewall is not blocking outgoing UDP traffic. The fact that the firewall is disabled will not save you from being blocked.

Problem: I can't recognize characters in chat
Solution: Same as the previous issue - "Double check that your firewall is not blocking outgoing UDP traffic. The fact that the firewall is disabled will not save you from blocking. Also make sure that outgoing traffic is not blocked for your friend.

Problem: I have constant crashes, the game closes / crashes.
Solution: This may be caused by your ENB filters. When you press "Home", some ENBs enter framelimiting mode. To solve this problem, change the Home key "key=0x24" to another one in the "TamrielOnline.ini" file
Crashes can also be the reason for selecting objects/NPCs/etc. ... in the console window. It is recommended to stop using the console AT ALL!

Problem: I am getting a "failed to connect" message when trying to connect to a server in Skyrim Online.
Solution: Make sure your firewall/antivirus is not blocking Skyrim, SKSE or TamrielOnline.asi. If you can't connect to the public server, try a fresh install.

Problem: When you press the Home button, nothing happens.
Solution: Make sure you are running the game as an administrator using SKSE. Check that both "TamrielOnline.asi" and "ScriptDragon.dll" files are not blocked. Make sure that all files from the archive are installed, that you have met all the requirements listed at the top of the page.

Problem: I'm having trouble connecting through port forwarding.
Solution: Try using Hamachi. Make sure each person has Hamachi, you are connected to each other via Hamachi, and everyone (except the host) has Hamachi IP addresses in their "TamrielOnline.ini" settings. The server in this case can leave its ip default - "127.0.0.1".

Problem: There are duplicates of my character, or there is a "mirroring" of my actions.
Solution: Double check your server settings and make sure "testing"\"testing" is set to "false". If the problem persists, then the bug is most likely known, but has not yet been resolved. At the same time, you can try connections via another computer or internet connection.

Problem: Player clones appear.
Solution: This error occurs when people close Skyrim without disconnecting from the game. To get rid of the clones, you can use the "markfordelete" command in the console.

Problem: I can't get out of reading a book, I can't hear dialogue, or my menus are messed up.
Solution: Try opening and closing the console once. This happens when "canpause=false" is set on the server.

Problem: Game crashes when trying to connect to server
Solution: You need to restart the server before uploading a new one.
