The production calendar provides information on the number of working days, weekends and holidays in 2016 in Belarus. For clarity, the production calendar contains information for each month and quarter.

In 2016 out of 366 days 255 will be workers, and for those who have a 6-day work week - 308 days. On average, each month will have 21.3 working days for a 5-day work week and 25.7 for a 6-day work week.

The total number of working hours in 2016 for a 5-day work week will be 2038 , and for 6 days - 2044 .

Transfer of working days

In January, Belarusians will have a four-day holiday. We will have a rest from January 7 to January 10, but Friday, January 8, will need to be worked on Saturday, January 16.

Monday 7 March is declared a holiday. We will work instead on Saturday, March 5th. Then we will rest for three days in a row from March 6 to 8.

In May we will have a four-day weekend from May 7th to May 10th. After the weekend of Saturday and Sunday, we will celebrate Victory Day on Monday, and Radunitsa on Tuesday, May 10th.

January 6 and March 7 are pre-holiday workers days and will be reduced by 1 hour.For a six-day working week, the pre-holiday days are January 6, March 7, April 30, July 2, December 24 and 31.

Non-working holidays

  • January 1 - New Year;
  • January 7—Christmas (Orthodox);
  • March 8 - Women's Day;
  • May 1 - Labor Day;
  • May 9 - Victory Day;
  • May 10 – Radunitsa;
  • July 3 — Independence Day of the Republic of Belarus;
  • November 7 - October Revolution Day;
  • December 25 - Christmas (Catholic).

In 2016, national holidays, celebrated on May 1, July 3 and December 25, fall on Sunday. Instead, no additional day off will be provided.

Public holidays in 2016

According to Art. 112 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation, non-working holidays in Russia are the following dates:

  • January 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 8 - New Year holidays
  • January 7 - Christmas
  • February 23 - Defender of the Fatherland Day
  • March 8 - International Women's Day
  • May 1 - Spring and Labor Day
  • May 9 - Victory Day
  • June 12 - Russia Day
  • November 4 - National Unity Day

If a public holiday falls on a Saturday or Sunday, the day off is transferred to the next working day. In 2016, Spring and Labor Day (May 1) and Russia Day (June 12) fall on Sundays, so the weekend moves to Mondays May 2 and June 13, respectively.

The Government of the Russian Federation has the right to make changes to the production calendar, shift non-working holidays to other dates in order to rationalize the labor process (Article 112 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation). For 2016, the following holiday transfers have been approved:

  • from Saturday January 2 to Tuesday May 3;
  • from Sunday January 3 to Monday March 7;
  • from Saturday 20 February to Monday 22 February.

Long weekend in 2016

  • February 21-23 (3 days) - in honor of Defender of the Fatherland Day
  • March 5-8 (4 days) - in honor of International Women's Day
  • April 30-May 3 (4 days) - first May holidays

  • June 11-13 (3 days) - in honor of Russia Day
  • November 4-6 (3 days) - in honor of National Unity Day

Pre-holiday days

On the eve of official state holidays, working hours are reduced by 1 hour, the same for both a 40-, 36- and 24-hour five-day work week (Part 1 of Article 95 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation). If a holiday falls on a Sunday, then the work hours on Friday are not reduced. In 2016, there are 2 pre-holiday days in Russia: February 20, November 3.

Working time standards for 2016 in Russia

The duration of a working day or shift with a 40-hour work week with two days off on Saturday and Sunday is 8 hours, with a 36-hour work week - 7.2 hours, with a 24-hour work week - 4.8 hours, on a pre-holiday day it is reduced by 1 hour .

According to the Russian labor calendar, in 2016 the country has 247 working days (including 2 shortened days) and 119 days off.

According to Article 112 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation, non-working holidays in 2016 are:

January 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8 – New Year holidays,

Changes in the calendar in 2016 in the Russian Federation

In January 2016 we will have a rest until the 10th. Please note that January 2, Saturday, is moved to Tuesday, May 3. And January 3, Sunday, - on Monday, March 7.

On the occasion of Defender of the Fatherland Day in February, we rest on the 21st, 22nd and 23rd. February 20 is declared a pre-holiday day.

In May, Russians will rest on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 9th.

In November, rest awaits us on Friday, the 4th. At the same time, November 3 was declared a pre-holiday day.

Thus, with a 40-hour working week, the standard working time will be 8 hours, with a working week of 36 hours - 7.2 hours; with a 24-hour work week the norm is 4.8 hours.
