Technical specifications

The main properties of the anti-theft installation:

  • the range of the communicator is up to 1500 meters in ideal terrain;
  • the keychain is powered by AAA batteries;
  • optimal operation of the anti-theft system is possible in the on-board network at 9-18 volts;
  • the current strength when the system is running is 20-35 mA;
  • the temperature range at which the security complex operates is from -40 to +85 degrees Celsius;
  • the total mass of the microprocessor module is 270 g.

Car owner alert signals are divided into several groups:

  • sound for the siren - when the alarm mode is activated, their duration is 30 seconds, the signals are played continuously;
  • optical for car headlights - signals with a power of 1 Hz and a duration of 30 seconds function on two channels and are reproduced intermittently;
  • using a radio channel - information is transmitted to the communicator and reproduced intermittently.

The exact range of the key fob depends on many factors:

  • power supply charge;
  • the presence of interference on the ground;
  • obstacles in the form of large structures, structures, transformer substations;
  • weather conditions.

Information is transmitted to the communicator over a secure channel using encryption.

All electrical circuits of the security complex are protected by means of safety, resistor devices and transistors. To prevent voltage surges and noise, the system is equipped with varistors. If, during the connection, errors related to polarity are made, this will not affect the operation of the signaling, since the power supplies are equipped with diode elements.

Contact controllers react to opening door locks or turning the key in the ignition switch. If such a sensor is triggered, the signal will play an alarm without the possibility of shutting down without a remote control. The security complex with auto start Sherkhan 5 also reacts to physical influences on the body and, when they are fixed, issues alarm signals.

The Galileosky channel spoke about the implementation and disabling of the autostart option.

Possible malfunctions of the Scher-Khan Magicar 5 alarm

If the autostart stops working and the engine does not start, the reason depends on the nature of the breakdown:

  1. The powertrain will not start, but the car owner has completed the backup procedure. With such a problem, the first reason why the options do not work may be the oxidation of contacts on safety device... The element is installed in the power supply circuit of the main module. Also, the reason may lie in the incorrect operation of the bypass device of the standard blocker. Sticking of contact elements in the control relay is possible.
  2. The motor starts but stops after a few seconds of operation. If you start the engine with a key, it will turn on. The problem may lie in the failure of the five-contact relay, which is located in the microprocessor module.
  3. Incorrect setting of the autorun function. To solve the problem, you need to reset all the settings of the anti-theft complex to the factory settings. Then the option values are readjusted.
  4. The problem may lie in the activated Jack service mode. If this function is enabled, the diode element will light up without interruption. After turning off the service mode, the function will resume.

How to install an alarm?

It is necessary to mount and connect the systems as follows:

  1. The battery is disconnected to remove voltage from the on-board network.
  2. The microprocessor device is being installed. To do this, you need to remove the lining in the cabin and put the unit in a hidden place. During installation, the device is securely fixed to prevent the negative impact of vibrations on the module. It is recommended to place the unit under the dashboard or in the free space behind it.
  3. The siren is being installed under the hood of the car. The place must be chosen so that there are no sources of moisture nearby or high temperatures... The siren is mounted with the horn downwards to prevent moisture accumulation inside. After installation, you need to make sure that the device and its wires will not be accessible from under the bottom of the car.
  4. An antenna module with a diode indicator is installed. Installation of these elements is carried out on the inner surface of the windshield, it must first be cleaned and degreased. Fixation is carried out with glue or double-sided tape.
  5. The temperature controller is being installed, as well as the shock sensor. These elements are installed in the vehicle interior. The wires for their connection are laid under the plastic sheathing.
  6. Limit switches are installed on the doors, luggage compartment and bonnet. The wires from them must be laid so that they do not come into contact with moving parts of the body. The cables are laid under the cladding.
  7. A service button is installed in the car interior. Its installation must be carried out in a hidden place, but the consumer must have access to the button from the driver's seat. The button can be disguised by wrapping it with black electrical tape.
  8. At the final stage, all components are connected to the microprocessor module. The engine blocking relay is connected to the ignition switch.

Battery protection (warning about unplugged dimensions)

The system helps to protect the vehicle battery from discharge. If you forgot to turn off the side lights, then when arming, the communicator keyfob will give a series of beeps for 5 seconds. At this time, the images of the lock and side lights will flash on the display. The warning beep will repeat every 30 seconds. three times.

Starter or ignition interlock

The system in the security mode will not allow starting the car engine. When an attempt is made to start the engine in the armed mode, the system will send an alarm signal to the communicator key fob. The ignition switch-on alarm will be indicated by the flashing of the side lights on the communicator key fob, sound and vibration signals. The engine blocking mode is selected when the system is installed at a service station and depends on the values of two programmable functions 1-4 and 1-8. You can find out more about blocking the engine of your car at the place of installation of the system. When starter lock is selected, the system will prevent the car's starter from restarting if the engine is started in automatic mode.

The system warns of an open door (programmable function 1-2). When a custom function value is selected, the alarm flashes if the car door is open.

Protection of the radio channel from interception of the code

The system has special protection for the commands transmitted by the key fob. Each time you press the button on the system key fob, the code message changes according to a special algorithm. This is done to protect the system from interception of the code and its selection (intellectual hacking of the security system). The code protection algorithm is specially developed for the SCHER-KHAN MAGICAR system and is unique, not used in one security system of other brands.

Motor protection in auto start mode

The system continuously monitors engine operation in automatic start mode. If the engine stops before the end of the warm-up cycle (engine malfunction or out of fuel), then no later than 20 seconds. the system processor unit will turn off the ignition. Automatic restart of the engine will not be possible until the malfunction is eliminated. For vehicles with a manual transmission, it is necessary to execute the redundancy mode again.

Shock sensor sensitivity adjustment

You can adjust the sensitivity of the shock sensor depending on your requirements. A regulator is provided on the sensor to adjust the sensitivity. Turning the knob clockwise increases the sensitivity, and counterclockwise decreases it, until the sensor is turned off. Consult a service station for the location of the shock sensor, it should be easily accessible for adjustment.

Adjusting the sensitivity of the owner call sensor

You can adjust the sensitivity of the car owner call sensor depending on your requirements. To adjust the sensitivity, a step regulator with three positions is provided on the sensor. The extreme left position of the regulator corresponds to the minimum sensitivity of the sensor, the extreme right - to the maximum. The sensor should be located in the lower corner of the car's windshield.

Adjusting the volume of the siren confirmation signals

You can adjust the volume of the siren short beeps. To decrease the volume, you must cut the loop from the wire on the siren body. The system can be equipped with any siren in accordance with the wishes of the owner, including one where there is no adjustment option.

Redundancy Mode (Manual Transmission Only)

The standby mode prevents the engine from starting automatically if the manual transmission lever is not in neutral. Depending on your requirements, you can choose one of three backup algorithms (programmable function 1-6).

Algorithm 1
Algorithm 2

To perform redundancy (preparing the car for the subsequent automatic engine start), do the following:

  1. At the end of the trip, without turning off the engine, set the gear lever to neutral.
  2. Close the hood / trunk doors
  3. Remove the key from the ignition switch (OFF position). The engine will continue to run
  4. Open the door and exit the car. Close the door. The engine will stall.

Opening the door after completing the fifth step will make it impossible to automatically start the engine. Diagnostics of the reasons for its failure is described below.

If at least one step from the above algorithm is not performed, then there will be no redundancy mode and automatic engine start will not occur. In this algorithm, redundancy will be disabled if the door, hood / trunk is open at the time the ignition is turned off.

Algorithm 3

To perform redundancy (preparing the car for the subsequent automatic engine start), do the following:

  1. At the end of the trip, without turning off the engine, set the gear lever to neutral.
  2. Close the hood / trunk doors
  3. Press for 2 sec. button II of the keyfob
  4. Remove the key from the ignition switch (OFF position). The engine will continue to run
  5. Open the door and exit the car. Close the door. The engine will stall

Opening the door after completing the fifth step will make it impossible to automatically start the engine. Diagnostics of the reasons for its failure is described below.

If at least one step from the above algorithm is not performed, then there will be no redundancy mode and automatic engine start will not occur. In this algorithm, making a reservation requires you to press button II of the key fob each time before turning off the ignition (by turning the key in the ignition lock to the OFF position).

ATTENTION!

Close the sunroof and windows before exiting the vehicle. Do not leave people or animals in the vehicle while performing the redundant mode.

Do not automatically start the engine while people or animals are in the vehicle.

Leave the transmission lever in neutral at all times. Do not use automatic engine start on open top vehicles.

If the operation of the backup mode differs from the described algorithms or does not occur, immediately contact your service station for advice. Do not use the automatic engine start until the cause of the malfunction is eliminated.

PROGRAMMING NEW KEY FOBS

The system can memorize the codes of three key fobs. Follow two steps to program new keyfobs.

  1. Turn the key in the ignition switch from OFF to ON three times. The alarm will flash once to confirm entering the programming mode.
  2. Not later than 4 sec. after the flashing of the alarm, press the button I of the key fob, the code of which must be entered into the memory of the processor unit.

To exit programming mode, do not take any action for 4 seconds. after writing the code of the last keyfob.

If after step 1 no action is taken, after 4 sec. the alarm will flash 2 times, the system will switch from the keyfob programming mode to the VALET mode.

Note:

The system has three memory cells for storing keyfob codes. If you try to write the fourth keyfob, the code of the first recorded keyfob will be deleted.

Scher-khan magicar V is one of the past generations of the popular alarm system that combines security, control and increase performance characteristics car function. Scher-Khan Magicar V - one of those types of car alarms that have feedback, carried out using a control key fob.

The Scher-Khan Magicar V alarm system is controlled remotely using a key fob with a display located on it. The control key fob allows you to remotely control the alarm functions using several keys on the key fob (I, II, III, IV), various combinations of buttons and pressing lengths - short presses (0.5 sec) and long (2 sec).

Setting the time on the key fob

Setting the exact time on the key fob display is a necessary procedure in order to be able to start the car engine by timer in automatic mode. Since the exact time is reset when the power is turned off, the installation is carried out not only before starting operation, but also when replacing the battery.

Setting the exact time on the key fob consists of several stages.

  1. It is required to press a combination of buttons II and III. Pressing duration - 2 seconds. After that, the programming mode is entered, about which the owner is notified by the sound signal of the key fob, the flashing of the alarm and a special symbol on the display.
  2. Then press the I button and hold it for 0.5 sec. Thus, the mode of setting the exact time is activated, which is confirmed by a sound signal. The device displays the current time flashing.
  3. Then the exact time is set. With button I you can change the hour display, with button II the minute display. To change one step, hold down the desired key for 0.5 seconds.
  4. The last stage is the exit from the programming mode, which is carried out by pressing the combination of keys II and III. Exit from the mode is confirmed by a sound signal.

Factory reset

Errors in self-programming of alarm functions may require a rollback to the factory settings. Resetting the programmable alarm functions to their factory defaults is carried out in 2 steps.

  1. At the first stage, enter the programming mode - press buttons II and III simultaneously and hold them for 2 seconds.
  2. In the second step, you need to press button III on the key fob three times (0.5 seconds each). Each press is accompanied by flashing "emergency gang" and a sound signal. After a short period of time, 3 signals should sound, and the alarm will flash three times. Thus, the owner is notified about resetting the programming of functions to the default settings.

Engine starting

The Scher-Khan Magicar V alarm allows you to start the car engine using the control key fob. To do this, press button II of the keyfob and hold it for 2 seconds (long press). In this mode, the alarm goes into security mode, the car doors are locked, and the engine starts. The running time of the motor can be programmed for different time periods:

  • 5 minutes;
  • 15 minutes;
  • 25 minutes;
  • 45 minutes.

Starting the engine is accompanied by several indicators of confirmation of the successful execution of the request:

  • siren sound
  • a sound signal of the key fob ;;
  • flashing emergency gang;
  • 5x headlights on the key fob display

If the engine start fails, the system will retry a maximum of 2 more times. If after them the engine cannot be started, then the alarm goes into normal mode.

In order to start moving the car, the driver with the engine running from the key fob must open the doors, insert the ignition key and turn it to the ON position. To do this, the driver has 20 seconds after opening the doors. If during this period the key is not turned to the desired position, the system will automatically turn off the engine.

The alarm may not start the engine for several reasons:

  • the engine is already running;
  • the ignition is already on;
  • the doors or trunk are open;
  • the redundancy mode for vehicles with manual transmission has not been fulfilled (the control lever is not transferred to the neutral position).

Therefore, in order to automatically start the engine, the driver of a car with a manual transmission must first after stopping:

  • set the gearbox lever to the "Neutral" position without shutting down the engine;
  • close the hood and trunk;
  • press button II on the key fob;
  • turn the ignition key to the off position and pull it out (the engine will continue to run);
  • go out and slam the door (the engine will stall).

Autostart programming

Scher-Khan Magicar V alarm allows automatic engine start in various modes:

  • every 2 hours;
  • every 24 hours.

Starting the engine every 24 hours allows you to start the engine at the same time every day, which is convenient, for example, for warming up in the morning. Starting every 2 hours allows you to maintain the temperature of the engine and the interior on cold days or, conversely, to cool the interior during the summer season. Both timer modes cannot be used at the same time. The autorun mode is selected through the programmable functions menu.

To program autostart every 2 hours, shortly press buttons II and IV. In this case, the engine will automatically start 2 hours after pressing. Setting the time is not required in this case.

To automatically start the engine every 24 hours, you must first set the exact time on the key fob, if it is not set. (how to do it - see above). The automatic start of the motor is set as follows:

  • it is required to press buttons II and IV and turn off the Timer mark;
  • select the start time using the I and II keys;
  • press keys II and IV again and turn off the Timer label.

When the engine starts automatically, the key fob display shows a countdown until the moment when the engine is turned off.

Autostart by temperature

Automatic start can be set when a certain air temperature is reached, which is determined by temperature sensors installed in the vehicle interior. Temperature autostart can only be used in conjunction with timer autostart. To set autorun only when a certain temperature is reached, you must:

  • select autostart by timer;
  • switch on temperature control - press the IV button 21 times;
  • choose the required temperature regime(key II - –15 ° C, key III - –25 ° C, key IV - +60 ° C);
  • enable timer autostart mode (see above).

How to register a keychain?

The Scher-Khan Magicar V alarm can "memorize" 3 different key fobs. To synchronize a new key fob with the alarm, you must:

  • turn the ignition key three times from the OFF position to the ON position - the "emergency light" should flash 1 time, confirming the entry into the programming mode;
  • no later than 4 seconds after the flash, you need to press the I key on the new key fob;
  • then you need to enter the key fob code into the memory of the alarm processor unit.

The memory of the processor unit can store the data of only 3 key fobs, so when the fourth key fob is written, the code of the first is deleted from the memory.

You can exit the programming mode without taking any action within 4 seconds after the last digit of the code has been written.

How do I turn off the alarm?

To disable the security functions of the alarm system, a special VALET mode is provided. The deactivation function is necessary, for example, when transferring the vehicle to a station. service to prevent the alarm from being triggered. To switch to the VALET mode, a short press of the I and III keys is enough. You can also turn on the mode with the ignition key - just like when registering a new key fob, you need to turn the key in the cell from the OFF position to the ON position three times, that is, enter the programming mode. In the future, you should not take any action for 4 seconds, after which the system will automatically switch to VALET mode.

In the VALET mode, the door opening / closing function is retained, for which you need to shortly press the I button. You can exit the VALET mode by pressing the combination of keys I and III.

Shock sensor adjustment

The shock sensor notifies the owner of the car about an accident with the car while the car is parked with the alarm on.

Scher-Khan Magicar V alarm sensors are two-level: in case of weak impact, a 4-time sound signal is given and an alarm signal is flashed 4 times. In case of a strong blow, the key fob goes into alarm mode, which lasts 30 seconds - 30 flashes of "emergency" and 30 short beeps. The shock sensors can be turned on or off by pressing the combination of buttons I and III and holding them for 2 seconds.

Adjusting the shock sensor helps to avoid false alarms of the crash alert sensor, because with a sensitive sensor, even the passage of a neighboring vehicle can be falsely perceived by the system as an emergency shock. To adjust the sensitivity of the sensors, physical access to them is required; you can find out about the location of the shock sensors at the service station. The sensors themselves are equipped with regulators, turning clockwise increases the sensitivity, counterclockwise - reduces until the sensor is completely turned off.
