  • Leave clean material in a well-ventilated area to dry.
  • Cut off the excess parts. Cut the blanks to the desired size.

Stump coffee table

A strong stump of an old tree in itself can already serve as a small table, stand or stool. To create it, you will need an already prepared wooden blank, sandpaper, putty, ground cover, paint, brush.

Carefully examine the dried stump cleaned from dirt, bark, damage and dried.

  1. Fill small cracks in the wood. Some large ones can be left, this will give the table originality. If there is a large hole in the surface, it can be sanded or deepened to be used as a vase stand.
  2. Next, sand the wood.
  3. Cover with stain.
  4. Once dry, apply 2 coats of white paint.

Underframe for dining table

Large driftwood is often used as a table for dining or coffee table- it all depends on the dimensions of the workpiece. The tabletop can be made of wood, chipboard, plywood. But most the best option becomes glass. The transparent surface will reveal all the beauty of woody curves. Such a table will most harmoniously fit into an eco or minimalist design, diluting the restraint of style and the severity of lines.

You need to prepare:

  • 3-4 large snags of approximately the same size,
  • large screws, drill with drills,
  • jigsaw,
  • grinder
  • putty for wood,
  • wood glue,
  • sandpaper,
  • stain,
  • brush,

Order a round glass top separately. When choosing a size, consider the area of \u200b\u200bsupport - ¾ of the glass should be on a wooden base.

Get to work:

  1. Arrange the relative position of the snags you have prepared - the structure will need to be fastened with large screws, it should turn out to be stable with a wide, even upper base. Mark the places for fastening with screws.
  2. Drill holes, countersink them, apply glue, make connections by drowning the screw heads. Do not save on screws, the more you use in different places, the more reliable the design will turn out.
  3. Putty some bumps and holes for fasteners.
  4. Sand the surface of the wood.
  5. Cover with 1-3 coats of stain, depending on how dark you want the item to be.
  6. Install wooden base, place the table top on it.

Wooden hanger

Decorate your home with an unusual hanger made from a piece of real wood. Driftwood, branches are useful for wall products. They must first be sanded, and then coated with stain, paint or varnish. You can hang bags, clothes on the branches themselves and on specially attached hooks.

A small broken tree can serve you as floor hanger. After the usual preparation (cleaning and drying), cut off thin branches, leaving knots 15 to 25 cm long pointing upwards on the trunk. Sand the surface. Paint the wood. An important task of this project is to ensure the stable position of the hanger. Branch struts attached to the bottom, or a heavy metal or wide wooden base with a hole in the middle for installing the trunk, will help in this.

Making a stool with fire

To make an original stool from a wooden chock or stump, use fire. His work is as unique as nature itself. No one can exactly repeat your product.

  1. With an electric jigsaw, make cross-shaped deep cuts on the stump.
  2. Pour some lighter fluid into the cracks. Set it on fire.
  3. When the middle burns out, forming 4 legs, remove the coals, ashes from the middle, and the bark from the surface of the wood.
  4. Sand the outside.
  5. If desired, cover the finished stool with a layer of stain or varnish.

Furniture for home / summer cottages can be made by yourself from what is at hand. These are various snags, hemp, trees or branches.

Consider branch furniture.

Having shown imagination and putting a little effort (relatively little), you can make similar furniture:

To make such furniture, choose interesting branch shapes. You can take both live branches with green leaves, and dry ones. Cracks do not scare you, on the contrary, they give additional individuality to such furniture. The main thing is not to weaken the branch.

Remove the bark from the branches, dry well. How to dry? In the shade for half a month or a month, then dry indoors.

We use brushing. Brushing is the mechanical processing of products using metal brushes.

Do not forget about safety and health - wear a respirator and goggles. Processing is carried out correctly along the fibers. When the main dirt and dust have been cleaned, we change the kartsovka to a fine one for more accurate processing. We repeat the procedure until the desired result is obtained, we evaluate the degree of processing ourselves.

After processing the branches, we dry them, treat them with antiseptic agents and assemble the product. The biggest difficulty when working with branches is the connection of parts that are joined at an angle. Here, spikes and hand tools such as chisels will help you. After fitting, the final docking is done on glue.

It is advisable to prepare a sketch - it will be easier for you to work with it.

It is desirable that furniture made of branches be light and mobile. After all, it is convenient and practical when pieces of furniture can be moved from place to place or put away for winter storage.

Branches can also be used to decorate such large objects as cabinets, chests of drawers, on the walls you can make an imitation of living trees.

Even more spectacular can be painted branches. In interiors modern style they are used to enhance colors or create contrasting elements. They paint both small branches and massive sculptural cuts.

The coffee table, the manufacturing process of which is demonstrated in the master class, is an original piece of furniture. It is created from natural tree branches, their own appearance and reminds.

materials

To do coffee table from tree branches with your own hands, you will need:

  • thick branches;
  • boards;
  • jigsaw;
  • marker;
  • sandpaper of different grain sizes;
  • glue for wood;
  • self-tapping screws;
  • putty for wood;
  • varnish for wood;
  • epoxy resin.
  • adhesive tape.

Step 1. First of all, you need to choose a branch that, in terms of thickness, height and shape, can become the basis for a table. The branch itself needs to be processed by removing the bark from it, cutting off all the excess and processing it with sandpaper.

For grinding, you should use coarse-grained sandpaper and, by the final part of the work, move on to fine-grained (from 40 to 220).

Be sure to check that the base of the table you have obtained is stable on the floor, and the cut for mounting the tabletop is perfectly even. If there are even the slightest flaws, be sure to correct them.

Step 2. Now comes the tricky part. You need to create a countertop decor. You can go two ways: make a tree decoration from branches or from a flat board. On a flat board, you will need to draw the tree itself with branches and cut everything out with a jigsaw, then processing the edges.

With branches, the work is much more painstaking. They will need to be laid out in the form of a tree. Peel them from the bark, cut down everything superfluous so that you only have flat parts left and after all - fasten the branches to each other. Boards made from branches will also need to be sanded. In order for the cuts on the branches to be as even and of high quality as possible, it is better to use a band saw for this.

Step 3. Attach the resulting wood to the table top and cut both parts, fitting them under each other, and giving the desired shape to the table.

Step 4. decorative tree glue to the countertop with wood glue, following the manufacturer's instructions. For reliability, you can fix its branches with small self-tapping screws.

Step 5. Place the table top on the base. Secure it with suitable size screws.

Step 6. To finish the table along the end of the tabletop in this master class, willow bark of a suitable height was used. You can take the same one or replace it with the remaining thin bark scraps from already processed branches. Since the bark will need to be bent, it is worth walking along it with a moistened sponge. It is better to fasten the bark with self-tapping screws. Then you can reinforce it around the edges with wood glue.

The surface of the table in the places where the screws are attached must be treated with putty for wood.

Step 7. Now the countertop needs to be decorated. To do this, use small river pebbles. It needs to be washed and dried, and then poured onto the countertop, leveling it with a decorative tree.

You can attach pebbles in several ways. You can glue it and then varnish it, but in this case the surface of the countertop will be rough. Alternatively, you can fill the countertop epoxy resin. In this case, the surface will be smooth.

After the glue or resin has dried, your table will be ready. If desired, you can further decorate it, for example, by sending it under a pebble led strip. In this case, the tabletop will glow. The wires must be passed through the base of the table, having previously drilled a hole in it.

For the throne chair, draw a U-shaped outline on the saw cut of the tree and carefully saw it from top to bottom, to the intended seat. The width of the beaters and the back should be from 5 to 10 cm, depending on the dimensions of the stump. Then you should cut off a bit of the blade, to the desired height, so that when sitting on this chair, it would be comfortable for your hands to recline.

These are various snags, hemp, trees or branches.

As a strong, massive and durable material for furniture, logs are perfect. They can be found in the forest plantation, processed a little and made comfortable table or a bench.

The main feature of furniture for summer cottages based on logs is the absence of costs. It is only necessary to cut the log into pieces with a chainsaw, clean it and process it with paint, varnish or stain.

Log furniture will suit any cottage interior, especially if your site is decorated in country style.

Only one minus is the delivery of logs to their destination. A thick log is quite heavy, you will need a truck or trailer for transportation.

Making stump furniture is pretty easy. For most summer residents, such material remains after uprooting unnecessary trees. The issue of delivery in this case has already been resolved.

Show your imagination and turn on creative thinking, then unusual and unique stump furniture will appear on your site, which will not go unnoticed.

An elementary solution is the manufacture of a stool, which can be decorated with patterns from parts of broken glass or dishes. Broken cups, saucers or ceramics are glued to the stump with liquid nails or epoxy.

From small stumps, lantern stumps are obtained. During the day, they decorate the garden and serve as a place to sit, and at night they illuminate country cottage area. Thus, your territory will appear wider, and at the same time it will also become well lit. How to make such a firefly stump? It is necessary to carefully clean the saw cut of the stump, put an LED or fluorescent on it and close the structure with plexiglass, and then strengthen it with self-tapping screws.

If you know how to work with a chainsaw, we recommend creating chairs from stumps. They can be with backs if the stumps have a sufficient saw cut. A large stump is useful for making a chair with armrests.

Wooden boards and beams are the main material for construction work.

For the manufacture of garden furniture, simple branches, snags or tree roots are used. This so-called garbage allows you to create a real work of art.

At present, the works of folk craftsmen from snags and branches are quite expensive. Why don't you create such furniture on your own site? Such creations will be durable, beautiful and no worse than similar store furniture.

Before assembling furniture, it is necessary to remove the bark from branches and snags, dry the material well, otherwise it will begin to rot and insects will appear on it. Treat the tree with pesticides.

To assemble from branches, prepare branches, a hacksaw with a screwdriver. Even the fairer sex can assemble the most elementary furniture from branches using twine or textile material.
