  • The highchair will be easier to care for if the surfaces are washable and the upholstery is quick drying or water repellent.

The simplest, as well as economical option for creating a high chair with a table is to equip an ordinary high chair with a shelf-footboard and attach a small table to the armrests, on which you can place a plate of food, a cup of juice or tea. Increasing safety, such products are often equipped with harnesses (with carabiner clasps) that securely fix the child.

Multifunctional models are popular among parents. For example, helping to conveniently place a child when feeding, a transforming children's chair. It consists of two parts: a small children's chair itself with a small overlay table and a structure that is both a high seating base and a separate children's table.

The first use case is more suitable for a child from 6 months to 2 years. On such a chair, you can simply feed the baby by placing his plate on a small table fixed on the railing of the chair, or you can move the entire structure to the adult large table. The second method is recommended to be used from 2 to 5 years. It is a separate arrangement of a children's chair with a table. At this age, girls and boys can already do a lot on their own. Young children, especially with the appearance of teeth, love to try everything, gnaw, so it is important to choose non-toxic Decoration Materials- varnishes, acrylic-based paints.

Materials, tools for work

To make a convenient, as well as practical model of a table-stand and a chair for feeding with your own hands, you need to prepare:

  • wooden beam with a section of 400x200 mm, the legs of a chair, table, crossbar will be made from it. When choosing wood, pay attention that there are no resin stains or knots on it. Such defects greatly complicate the processing of future furniture parts.
  • A small board (about 250 mm thick) from which the armrests will be made.
  • A sheet of fiberboard or plywood will serve as the seat material.
  • Plywood for countertops.
  • Drill.
  • Clamps.
  • Hacksaw.
  • Roulette, square, compasses.
  • The pencil will help you mark the tree.
  • PVA glue.
  • Lacquer or paint.
  • If you are making the seat and back soft, use foam rubber, upholstery fabric, and a furniture stapler to secure them securely.

Preparing parts, assembling a chair

  1. Use the tools to prepare the following parts:
  • 4 chair legs 390 mm long;
  • 3 cross bars of the chair, 300 mm long;
  • 4 rounded parts of the chair;
  • 1 chair top - 340x200 mm (size, shape can vary upon request);
  • 2 upper crossbars for the chair, 220 mm each;
  • 2 lower crossbars for the chair, 340 mm each;
  • 4 legs of a table-stand 500 mm long;
  • 4 transverse bars of the table, 340 mm each;
  • 4 slats - table details 410 mm each;
  • plywood from which the countertop will be made, its dimensions are 380x450 mm.

If the farm has boards or wooden trimmings, they can replace some materials. You just need to give them the proper look and size.

  1. The main thing that needs to be done after cutting the parts is to consistently, carefully sand the wooden blanks with sandpaper. After grinding, all surfaces should be perfectly smooth, without bumps, roughness, so that the child does not drive a splinter.
  2. Based on the attached drawing, transfer the markings of the rounded parts to the surface of the tree. At the same time, in order for the part to come out strong, the wood fibers must be located perpendicular to the angle of its bend. Using a carpentry machine or just a hacksaw, cut out these elements.
  3. You can make your own dowel bars 8x20x50 mm or purchase them in a special store. With the help of dowels with glue, the parts of the chair and table will be connected. Pre-drill holes carefully (approximately 30-40 mm). Also, for reliable fastening of parts, you can use self-tapping screws.
  4. We collect the sidewall of the chair (2 roundings, upper and lower crossbars, 2 legs). Lubricate the dowels and holes with glue, first the legs - we connect them. Then we do the same with the lower crossbar and roundings. During operation, we control that the connections are made at a right angle. After assembly, we tighten and fix the elements with a clamp until completely dry (about 24 hours).
  5. Similarly, we collect the second sidewall. Let's compare both results. Additionally, we process all parts with sandpaper.
  6. We proceed to the manufacture and assembly of the seat and back of the chair. Cut out 6 pieces 250x300 from fiberboard. Moreover, the radius of curvature must be made 50 mm (as in the diagram). Carefully grind the cut parts. We glue 3 parts each, put them under the press.
  7. We connect the finished back and seat with a corner or screws to choose from. Also for this you can use a strip of tin with a thickness of 80-100 mm. Bend it in the center and attach with screws.
  8. We collect a children's chair. We fasten the sidewalls of the product with crossbars (300 mm). In the slats on which we will mount the seat, we make 4 holes for the dowels. There are also 4 in the bar under the back (of which: at the ends - 2 pieces, in the bar - 2 pieces). Make holes on the sidewalls: 2 - under the bar that will hold the back, and 2 under the bar for installing the countertop.
  9. Before final assembly, it is necessary to check the accuracy of the connections, then assemble the entire structure for dowels and glue. After a day, sand the chair again, remove excess glue.
  10. Cover the product with eco-friendly varnish or paint.

Table assembly

  1. The assembly of the table-stand follows the same algorithm as the chair:
  • We put the markup, indicating the connection points.
  • We prepare dowels, drill holes with a drill.
  • We check the corners, the correctness of the connections.
  • We assemble a fragment of the product, leave the glue to dry (we fasten the legs with the help of the lower and upper strips of 410 mm each; each sidewall is attached with crossbars 340 mm long).
  • Installing the tabletop.
  • We grind all parts of the product (even hard-to-reach).
  • We open with varnish or paint.

To make the transforming chair more comfortable for the baby, it is better to make the seat and back soft. Glue pieces of foam rubber or several layers of batting on these surfaces with furniture glue. bigger size(by 10-20 mm). On top, wrap the seat and back with upholstery fabric or leatherette. Fix the stretched material with a stapler with reverse side. It will be appropriate to install an overlay (fabric or plywood) on the back of the back to prevent the child from accessing the furniture brackets.

As you can see, making a wooden children's chair and table with your own hands is not very difficult task. So you will provide your child with a comfortable and safe place for eating, and later for developing games and drawing.

With the birth of a baby, his parents have a lot of worries. One of them is the purchase of a chair for feeding. Meanwhile, it is quite expensive in children's stores. Stage 1: we make parts

It is necessary to start making a highchair with the manufacture of parts for it. You will need to do the following:

  • 4 legs (length 390 mm);
  • 2 bottom rails (length 340 mm);
  • 3 crossbars (length 300 mm);
  • top rails (length 220 mm);
  • 1 small tabletop (dimensions 200x340 mm);
  • 4 rounded elements.

To make such details, you need to take the bars and cut them in half. From them, legs are first created, then the upper and lower crossbars, and then the crossbars. They will need to be treated with sandpaper to prevent splinters from appearing in the baby, because he will grab the handles for all the details of the chair.

Now you can move on to creating rounded elements for the sidewalls. They need to be cut out of the board in order to get the most durable and reliable chair, a drawing of these parts is presented.

It will be necessary to make a similar markup on a wooden board. The scheme must be drawn so that the fibers of the material are perpendicular to the bend angle. Then the finished part will not lose its strength over time.

The back and seats need to be cut out of fiberboard. From it you will need to make 6 parts. Their size should be as follows, 300 * 250 mm. They should have two rounded corners. The ends of such parts will need to be carefully sanded. After that, it will be necessary to glue 3 identical parts together, and then put them under a press. And the last thing that needs to be done is to cut the countertop out of plywood. Its size should be as follows: dimensions 200x340 mm.

Stage 2: we assemble the chair

Now you can start assembling the high chair. First you need to make rectangular dowels. They are carved from wood. Their size should be 8 * 20 * 50 mm. Under them in the details it will be necessary to make holes up to 40 mm deep.

They will need to be fixed with glue, and then additionally with nails. But it will be necessary to sink their hat into the surface of the wood - this will eliminate the occurrence of injuries and cuts in the child.

Start assembling the highchair from the sidewall. It consists of 2 rounded parts, legs and bottom rails. First of all, the last 2 parts are fixed together with glue, dowel and nails. Here it is necessary to ensure that the connection occurs at an angle of 90 degrees. Then you can assemble the top crossbar and 2 roundings between them. The second sidewall will need to be made similar to the first. In this case, during assembly, it will be necessary to compare both elements several times in order to make sure that they are identical. The created sidewalls will need to be processed with sandpaper.

Next, you will need to connect the seat and back together. Here you can use screws and a corner. After that, you will need to wait until the glue on all the parts is completely dry, and then it will be possible to assemble the entire highchair.

The sidewall is connected with the help of crossbars (length 300 mm) and dowels. First you need to make holes for them. Then, in addition, the structure is fixed with nails. Then you will need to attach the legs to the lower and upper slats, and then install the crossbars. A tabletop is fixed from one of the ends.

Thereafter finished construction additionally processed with sandpaper. Then it is covered with paintwork material and left to dry. Then you will need to cover the seat and back with fabric. But first you will need to lay a batting under it and fix it with a stapler. This upholstery will allow the baby to sit on the chair with maximum comfort. On this work on its creation will be completed. Which means you can use ready product by appointment.

And here, many parents may have a question: how to make a mobile highchair for feeding with your own hands? Here also without step by step instructions not enough. But first you need to prepare the following:

  • fabric (cotton, linen, lining) - about 3 m;
  • slings - 2.5 m;
  • carabiner buckles - 3 pcs;
  • thick and strong braid - 3 m;
  • scissors;
  • needles;
  • threads;
  • sewing machine.

With the advent of the baby, parents try to create comfortable conditions for him from the first days of life. In order for feeding a restless child to bring more joy, both he and his parents use a high chair. It is not at all difficult to make a chair for feeding with your own hands. It is much cheaper than buying ready-made in the store. In addition, the process of work will be a very pleasant experience, because love and warm feelings for the child are invested in it.

The chair in which the child is fed must be safe and appropriate to the anatomy of the child, since the formation of the musculoskeletal system takes place in early childhood.

  • The seat and back should be neither too hard nor too soft. In this case, the muscles will receive the correct load;
  • Footrest required;
  • Use non-toxic materials and paints;
  • All parts of the chair must be free of sharp corners and protruding fasteners that can be caught on.

To understand how to make a comfortable chair, you need to decide on its type. You can make a high pedestal with a seat and a tabletop. Another option is a transformer chair. Such a product, as the baby grows, turns from a feeding chair into a table and a chair for games. This design is more practical, so we will talk about it further.

Material selection

The advantage in the manufacture of furniture for children is wood. It is easy to process at home, non-toxic and non-hazardous. Depending on the design, chipboard, MDF boards or finished beams are used. Chipboard sheets are of different toxicity. To make the children's device as environmentally friendly as possible, you need to pay attention to the emission class, which is indicated in the quality certificate. Formaldehyde emission indicators that correspond to GOST are class E1. Such wooden materials recommended for use in children's institutions. Class E0 is even less toxic.

When choosing paint or varnish for wood, you also need to pay attention to the safety of the material. For example, it is better to use acrylic varnish or varnish with a turpentine base.

Oak beams are very durable, but they are difficult to process. Better to use beech. Items made from it are strong, durable and easier to manufacture. You can also use pine or birch. Wood beams need to be sanded. This will not only eliminate all irregularities, but also round off sharp corners. After that, the wood is varnished or painted.

To make a highchair for feeding well done with your own hands, you need to make detailed drawing, take into account all dimensions and diagrams.

Manufacturing

The transforming chair consists of a table and a chair with a soft seat and a food stand. All parts are made of ordinary timber and are securely attached to each other.

Necessary materials:

  1. Bar with a section of 20 by 40 mm.
  2. Chipboard sheet for the seat and backrest.
  3. Plywood for food stand and countertop.

For the table you will need (dimensions are given in mm):

  • 4 beams 500 long for legs,
  • 4 beams 340 long for cross bars,
  • 4 beams 410 long to strengthen the structure and connect with the chair;
  • A sheet of plywood measuring 380 by 450 for the countertop.

For the chair you will need (dimensions are given in mm):

  • 4 beams 390 long for legs,
  • 3 beams 300 long for cross bars,
  • 200 x 340 plywood sheet for food stand,
  • 2 beams 220 long for the top bar,
  • 2 beams 340 long for the lower crossbar,
  • 4 semi-circular elements for armrests,
  • 2 parts from Chipboard size 300 to 250.

Prepared bars of the desired length are fastened together using dowels or self-tapping screws. Dowels can be made independently by cutting cylindrical parts 10 by 20 by 50 mm in size from wood. Grooves are drilled in the bars according to the size of the dowels and the two parts are tightly fastened together on such small elements with the addition of ordinary PVA glue.

Chair assembly

The assembly of the chair begins with the connection of the parts of the sidewalls.

Two legs 340 mm long are connected and the lower crossbar 340 mm long, which is mounted at a height of 180 mm from the base of the legs. The upper crossbar, which is also the future armrest, 220 mm long, is fastened with rounded elements, after which it is connected to the legs. The rounded elements must be the same width as the beam section, 40 mm. And the radius of curvature along the inner edge is also 40 mm. Using this part, the length of the bars that it will connect is 100 mm smaller size designs that are taken into account in the data.

If the parts are exactly the same, they will be easily connected and the design will be stable.

Chipboard sheets are the future seat and back. Each part must be rounded off the outer corners for greater convenience. Radius of curvature 50 mm. Details are duplicated with foam rubber and covered with suitable fabric. It can be a dense and not easily soiled fabric or dermantin. If synthetic material is used, it is recommended to sew a removable seat cover from a fabric that is pleasant to the touch. This cover can be removed and washed as needed. The fabric is attached to the back of the seat with a furniture stapler. The two halves of the seat will be fastened together by the corners.

Connecting the sides of the chair to each other. Cross bars fasten the sidewalls on the dowels. In order to install the seat, use an additional support bar. It is attached to the sidewall on the dowel and creates a convenient groove for attaching the backrest, taking into account the angle of its inclination.

Food stand measuring 200 by 340 mm can be rectangular or curved, as you like. You can make a recess for the glass in it. It attaches to the front of the armrests. Fastening can be done, for example, with pan-head screws, which will be slightly recessed.

Table assembly

First, the sidewall parts are connected. Top and bottom rails 340 mm long are attached to legs 500 mm long. The sidewalls are interconnected by strips 410 mm long. Two of them are fastened as a connection of the lower crossbars, and parallel to them - two others. They are mounted on one side of the table and are supports for the chair. In order for the chair to confidently take its place on these bars, framing them on both sides with legs, the distance between these bars should be 250 mm.

Table attachment. Plywood measuring 380 by 450 mm with sanded corners is attached with self-tapping screws.

Construction assembly

The table is installed on its side, with additional slats of 410 mm up. On top is a chair with a stand. If all the calculations turned out to be correct, then the chair can be easily attached with self-tapping screws to the planks on which it stands. This is done for greater stability of the structure. And one of the lower crossbars of the table will serve as a stand for the legs. If you wish, you can make your own improvements.

Every loving parent can make a highchair for feeding with their own hands. It does not take a lot of time. And such a durable design will serve as a children's chair for daily feeding up to about 2 years, and later as a table and chair for games, up to 4 or 5 years.

With the advent of a child in the house, parents account for buy a lot of new things, including children's furniture, but the prices for it are considerable, and the quality leaves much to be desired.

For a person who knows how to work with wood, it will not be difficult to make a comfortable, durable, and most importantly safe chair for feeding.

Homemade highchairs are different. This article talks about the technology of making a chair combined designs.

Material selection

Wood is suitable for the manufacture of children's furniture conifers- spruce or pine, it is soft, durable, easy to process, pleasant to look at and inexpensive.

To protect the child from injury and splinters, all parts must be process sandpaper.

You will also need carpentry tools, nails, hinges, varnish or paint for finishing the finished product.

In this case, it is better to take paints on acrylic basis, and varnishes are exceptionally non-toxic, because the baby will breathe them, and maybe- even try on the tooth.

Types of chairs

The child begins to eat at the common table from about 6 months but, of course, he cannot sit with the others.

For comfort were invented various designs in which you can put the baby, without fear that it will fall:

  • for feeding, which put near with an adult table, but it is inconvenient due to the height difference - the child's head is at the level of the adults' knees. The design of such a chair can be beaten with the help of small wheels for easy transportation of the chair;
  • soft case, which is attached to the back of an adult chair, is similar in design to sling;
  • Chair feeding with small table on long legs;
  • Combination chair- a small one is installed on a special stand-table; the design can be used as a high chair for feeding or a desk for games.

It is not necessary to buy all the material, you can partially use the ones available on the farm wooden planks and cropping, fitting them to the desired size.

Making a chair: stages of work

Stage one: wood preparation

bar sawn according to given sizes. Its individual pieces are processed (polished) with sandpaper, thanks to which all irregularities and scratches are removed from the surface of the tree so that in the future the baby does not drive a splinter.

It is better to connect the bars with wooden dowels(connecting elements), you can make them yourself by cutting out sticks of size 10x20x50 or buy ready spikes in a store with furniture fittings.

Advice! If there is no time and desire to mess with dowels, it is permissible to simply connect the parts using self-tapping screws.

In the bars themselves and the board at the attachment points, you need to cut or drill holes, suitable in size for dowels (approximately deep 30-40 mm), being careful not to pierce the wood through.

Second step: assembly of the sidewalls

The future chair will have two sides, for each one will need 2 roundings, on 2 top and bottom slats and two legs. Each side is assembled apart, first the legs and the lower crossbar are connected, roundings are attached to the upper crossbar separately, after which these two elements stick together together.

Before connecting two bars, the junction and dowels are well are smeared glue, you can even use ordinary PVA. The second sidewall is assembled in the same way, then these details must be left for the day let it dry, and then sand it again.

Attention! During the assembly process, you need to ensure that the angles between the bars are straight, and the sidewalls are completely the same.

Third step: joining the seat

Chipboard cut into 6 rectangles 300x250 mm, each has two adjacent corners rounded along the long side. To secure baby, all the edges need to be carefully sand, and then glue the plates along three pieces and put them under the press for a day. The result is a solid, durable back and seat.

Finished parts fastened together with a corner or a strip of metal bent along, screwed with screws.

Fourth stage: assembling the chair

sidewalls connected by transverse strips using dowels, fixed with glue. In the same way, planks are attached to the structure to support the back and plywood countertops.

Advice! It is more convenient to first fold the structure, mark places for dowels, drill holes and bait the bars without glue - this way you can replace the flaws in time and fix them.

Fifth stage: creating a table

Technology Assembling a table is similar to assembling a chair. First, the upper and lower planks are attached to the legs, then the resulting sidewalls are interconnected by transverse bars with a length of 340 mm.

sidewalls desirable sand with a fine emery cloth, make their surface even, smooth, safe for use.

The next step is fastening countertops. We fasten it from the end of the structure - and that's it, reliable children's table-chair ready.

Sixth stage: making a soft seat

In principle, this is not necessary, but for the comfort of the child, it is better to make the seats, and if desired, the back soft.

To do this, on a chipboard sheet you need to glue foam rubber thick in 1-2 cm and cover it with non-marking fabric or bright oilcloth children's colors.

Fabric on the back of the seat easy fastened with a construction stapler.

Advice! To save foam rubber can be replaced with several layers of synthetic winterizer
