How to make an elephant out of plastic bottles
1. Fill four plastic bottles with sand. It is enough to pour it into one third, twist them with lids.
2. Cut out big ears from the first plastic bottle. She won't need it anymore.
3. We take a flat and clean plastic bottle. We remove all paper labels from its surface. A lid and a handle are also not needed. We make four holes for small bottles.
4. We make cuts for the ears and insert the previously cut blanks into them.
5. Insert 15 cm of packing tape into a small slot at the bottom of the bottle and cut it, making a tail.
6. Insert 1/4 of the chamber into the neck of the bottle. If it is poorly fixed in the neck, you can insert another one inside this piece.
7. We insert half-liter bottles into four holes to make elephant paws.
8. Now the product needs to be painted with paint and wait for it to dry.
9. The elephant's eyes, mouth and eyelashes can simply be painted with contrasting paint, or you can take plastic eyes from an unnecessary toy.
Attach them to the bottle with double-sided tape. Draw eyelashes with black paint.

The horn of the watering can is a real trunk. Cut off the handle on one side, you get a tail, instead of ears, take two tires from a bicycle. Put a hat on your head. For a hat, use a deep enameled plate. Ears and plate are fastened with self-tapping screws. Draw eyes, mouth, blush on the cheeks. Color the hat. Put the elephant on a stand that can be painted blue. The elephant is ready.
GIRAFFE
To make a giraffe, you will need: one large wheel and about four small ones that are inside without wire (to make it easier to cut), 4 m of rebar, bottle caps for eyes, orange and brown paint. We dig a large wheel into the ground, make an incision with a knife and thread the armature into the wheel - this will be the neck of a giraffe. Then we cut the small tires into rectangles - about 5 parts. Next, we fix these parts on the fittings with a screwdriver. We cut one wheel into two parts - this will be the head. We attach eyes, ears and horns, you can make a mouth out of the remains of tires. We color the giraffe with orange paint and draw brown spots. The giraffe is ready. Due to the armature, the giraffe's neck tilts and rises, so it looks like it is alive. The kids love to sit on it.
ZEBRA.
A zebra is made from a tire, a stick (neck, head) and caps (eyes, nose). Painted with white paint, and stripes are made in black.

Dig two wheels into the ground. Attach two seat boards to them. On plywood, draw the head of a lion cub, and then cut it out, process the edges. Attach to the wheel with screws. Colorize. To make this craft, you will need the following:
- one two-liter and two one and a half liter plastic bottles;
- wire - dense enough to keep its shape;
- 6-7 caps through holes in the middle of the bottom;
- thin foam rubber or foamiran gray and pink flowers;
- scissors;
- glue gun;
- a pair of plastic eyes;
- acrylic paint gray and a brush (to give color, you can use not only paint, but also adhesive colored paper(tape) or food foil);
- sand (groats) as a filler.
Step-by-step description of working with a photo:
- Cut off the top in one and a half liter bottles 1/3 of the entire length.
- To make the finished figure more stable and not fall even from a slight breath of wind, pour a little filler into the cut off parts. It can be ordinary dried sand, small pebbles, cereals, etc.
- In a two-liter bottle, along one of the sides, make 2 holes, the diameter of which matches the diameter of the cut blanks.
- Insert the filler parts into the holes and secure them with a glue gun.
- Put plugs on the bent wire and fix with hot glue.
- From foam rubber (foamiran), cut out the details of the ears (2 large blanks of gray and 2 small pink flowers), tusks (2 pieces) and nails (4 for each bottle - 8 pieces in total).
- Cover the body of the future elephant with gray paint. Such a craft would look good if you use ordinary food foil instead of paint. In this case, you just need to wrap the workpiece with 1-2 layers of foil and press firmly.
- Glue eyes, ears, tusks and nails.
- Attach a tail from a short piece of wire and a brush made of foam rubber (foamiran) to the back.

- large sharp scissors;
- hot glue (for plastic);
- sand to weight the figure.
The course of work is quite simple and relatively fast:
- Cut off the tops of two-liter bottles and fill them with sand.
- In a large bottle, make 4 holes for the elephant's legs and insert sand pieces. Fix the joints of the parts with hot glue.
- Bend the wire in the shape of a long trunk, put a hose (corrugated pipe) on it and glue it to the neck of a large bottle.
- Cut out 2 pieces of ears from the second large bottle and glue them to the elephant's body with hot glue.
- Cover the glued figure with paint. Make sure that the body is painted evenly, without light spots. If light spots appear after drying, re-coat the surface with paint.
- With a marker or a thin brush, draw the eyes and mouth, paint the hooves on the legs.
- An elephant's trunk can be decorated with a homemade flower from a yogurt bottle, and a funny crest can be glued on top of the head.

The main and largest part is the body. For its manufacture, it is necessary to remove all unnecessary parts from 5 liter bottle: a label, a pen, marked stickers, etc. We make a mark on one of the sides, 4 even circles, you can circle a jar of the diameter we need. And cut straight holes. In them we will fix the legs of an elephant.
On a note! In order for our elephant to be stable and not be blown away by the slightest breeze, sand or earth should be poured into the smallest bottles.
Insert them straight into big bottle. So that they are motionless and do not move constantly, we fix with glue.
Cut out ears from the top of a medium 2-liter bottle. You can cut it out by eye or make small sketches with a marker. See only that the ears are in proportion to the body.

The figure is eight meters high and 12.5 meters long. The polar elephant weighs two and a half tons and consists of 44,500 bottles.

According to public activists, the action had several goals - they wanted to draw attention to the problem of recycling raw materials, to show that the townspeople are not yet ready for separate waste collection, and also to enter the city into the Guinness Book of Records. 
To collect material, activists set up special red barrels in the city, where they asked to put only plastic bottles. However, in the first days of collection, up to 90 percent of household waste turned out to be in them. The organizers did not give up and continued the action.
During the experiment, when the information campaign started, the bottles became 50 to 50. But to have only plastic - this has never happened before. 
According to activists, the volume of bottles needed to build an elephant is sent to the Arkhangelsk garbage plant for recycling every day. And five more such “elephants” are taken to the city dump every day. Despite this, the "garbage campaign" stretched until the new year. In mid-December, Rossiyskaya Gazeta wrote that the sculpture would still be removed, since at that time only the head and two legs had been built. 
The deadlines for completion of construction were constantly postponed, and a joke got around in the city that the elephant would become another unfinished building. The organizers, in turn, assured that the giant animal would be completed, and its construction was hindered by northern weather and a lack of hands.
