How to insert blinds into fixtures. Technology for installing blinds on a plastic window

Try to remove the tulle and curtains - and you will see how empty the room becomes. At present, a large number of options for curtains are being created. It's not just about the fabric. Today, blinds are often used as curtains. They perfectly protect the house from the sun's rays and prying eyes. These products are easy to assemble and dismantle. However, some are faced with certain problems: not everyone knows how to install blinds on plastic windows. In this article, we will try to understand this in detail.

Kinds

To create comfort, there are more than 10 types of blinds: vertical and horizontal, roller and pleated, attic and inter-frame, for arches and bay windows, Roman blinds and multiimpressive, electric and protective (rollers), photoblinds.

Blinds can be wooden, bamboo, metal (aluminum), fabric, plastic, paper.

Ease of use, reliable operation, affordable price, light-shielding properties have led to the fact that horizontal blinds have become one of the most popular types. They are used in the design of windows and other openings (in the most different rooms). But most often they are still used for windows, and in modern world– for plastic options.

Features of installing cassette models

If the owner installs the blinds on his own, the manufacturer often refuses warranty obligations. There are quite understandable explanations: due to incorrect installation, the sashes may simply not work, which means that the curtains will be unusable. In addition, improper installation can damage the glass itself and/or the frame.

If you are not sure about own forces, then it is better to contact the master.

If you still decide to do everything yourself, firstly, you need to determine the methods of fastening. Secondly (depending on the chosen method) - purchase blinds. Thirdly, it is necessary to prepare tools and materials.

Mounting methods

There are several mounting methods (depending on the window opening):

  • If window hole need to visually enlarge, then the cassette can be attached to the wall above the opening. The block itself can be much wider than the window opening, and the height of the structure can be much higher than the frame itself. In appearance, these can be full-fledged curtains;
  • If the window opening is wide enough, the window sill is used as an additional (for example, flower) shelf, then in this case the cassette can be attached to the upper slope of the opening - similar to installation on the ceiling. In this case, the window will visually look larger, and on the windowsill, by closing the blinds, it will be possible to hide important objects from prying eyes. In addition, with such a fastening, the flowers will not be in eternal shade;
  • If the window itself is large enough and does not require visual magnification(or the window sill is narrow), then the blinds can be attached to the fixed window frame, to the opening sash, to the glazing.

Necessary materials

Having decided on the method of fastening, then it is worth preparing necessary tools, among which:

  • Roulette. Its length should be sufficient to measure the width and height of the window opening in one go. If you yourself report the dimensions of future blinds to the manufacturer, you need to take measurements, focusing on the chosen method of fastening. If the cassette is mounted on the frame itself, then the width of the lamellas (plates) should be 2-3 cm less than it. Otherwise, the canvases of individual cassettes will interfere with each other. If you still made a mistake with the dimensions, then keep in mind that even metal lamellas (plates) can be carefully cut with ordinary scissors on both sides - to maintain symmetry;
  • Marker or pencil for marking;
  • Phillips screwdrivers and (or) a screwdriver;
  • Drill or puncher - for attaching to a wall or ceiling;
  • Dowels, screws and brackets;
  • PVA glue or liquid nails - in case the hole turned out to be larger than the dowel, and it needs to be more securely fixed in the wall or on the ceiling;
  • pliers;
  • Hammer;
  • Plumb (for example, from a thread and a bolt);
  • A level that helps to correctly position the structure;
  • Stepladder or desktop (chair).

So, the blinds are ready and unpacked. Everything you need is also prepared. It's time to start fastening, considering various methods of fastening.

How to hang on the wall?

If you are going to make markings for the brackets on the wall, you need to assemble the blinds, focusing on the instructions:

  • At a distance of about 15 cm from the edges of the product, places for fastenings should be marked. Do this with a tape measure and a level.

  • The bracket must not be located at the fixing point of the latch or at the place of the control system, otherwise it will interfere with the operation of the blinds. The distance between the brackets should be no more than 60 cm. As a rule, the width of the cassette block does not exceed 2.2 m. If the window is large, then several blinds are made. The rule remains in any case: the wider the block, the more brackets will be required for reliable fastening.

  • After installing the brackets, you need to push the latch forward. Gently (tilting slightly towards the wall) insert the upper cornice under the latch of the bracket, press it firmly against the wall and turn the latch 90 degrees to the left as far as it will go.

  • Turning the slats to the "open-closed" position is carried out using the control knob included in the kit. The length of the handle should not exceed 2/3 of the length of the canvas. If the handle is longer, then it must be removed from the frame, open the protective cap, cut off the excess length, put the cap back on and hang it on the frame.

How to attach to the ceiling yourself?

The principle of fastening the cassette model to the ceiling or the upper slope of the window opening is the same as when fastening to the wall. Differences will be observed in the way the brackets are mounted. When mounting the bracket to a wall, horizontal holes are used, and when mounting to a ceiling or upper slope, vertical holes are used.

The technology is as follows:

  • Using a tape measure, determine the center of the window opening and mark it symmetrically (relative to the center). If you are going to fasten the brackets, attach a cassette with blinds and check how they work: do the canvases interfere with each other and the free movement of the cords, do they touch the opening.

  • Then connect the marks and check the horizontal level. Using a drill or a puncher, drill holes: for a self-tapping screw with a 2.5 mm drill, for a dowel - depending on the plastic part.
  • If you are going to fasten the brackets, once again check with a level that the cassette is correctly positioned. It remains only to fix the brackets, fasten the eaves by turning the latch to the left by 90 degrees and insert the plugs. If you fastened the cornice with the canvas, it means that the work is done. If not, then it remains to attach the canvas.

Sash mounting

The cassette block can be attached directly to the frame using self-tapping screws, violating the integrity of the window frame. But it is possible to attach blinds without drilling.

If you decide to use self-tapping screws, then their length should not exceed 10 mm, so as not to pierce the window frame through and not to violate the tightness of the window unit. After marking and fastening the brackets with self-tapping screws, it is necessary to attach the blinds in the manner described earlier (insert the cornice, turn the latch to the left).

You can learn more about how to fix vertical aluminum blinds to a plastic window sash using drilling.

Install without drilling

If you decide to do without self-tapping screws and violating the integrity of the double-glazed window, then you can use double-sided tape or brackets - clips. Moreover, with adhesive tape, you can attach the cassette both to the frame itself and to the window sash. But the brackets can only be used on the sashes.

With double sided tape

Adhesive tape should be used intended for construction work, and not for paper. This tape is not sold in the stationery store. You need to look for it in building materials stores and car dealerships.

There are two ways to install blinds with adhesive tape:

  • stick the adhesive tape directly on the cassette, and stick it to the window (sash);
  • glue the brackets-clamps on the adhesive tape, and already attach the cassettes to them.

In any case, when using adhesive tape as a material for attaching blinds, you must adhere to the following instructions:

  1. This type of work should be carried out in the warm season, the double-glazed window should not be cold or covered with condensate.
  2. It is necessary to wash the frame or glass, dry the attachment point and wipe it with acetone or solvent.
  3. Make markings with a pencil, cassette, level; in this case, the line must be strictly parallel to the window sill so that a skewed gap does not form below. If the window sill itself is located with a slope, then you need to focus on the level and plumb line, otherwise the lamellas (blind plates) will interfere with each other when closing. Their functionality will be broken.
  4. Take off protective film from adhesive tape and carefully stick strictly along the intended line.
  5. Attach the canvas if it was not attached initially.

With bracket clamps

Clamps-brackets are very convenient for window sashes. There are several options for such clamps (plastic and metal), but they are all very easy to use. You can use them with the following simple instructions:

  1. When assembling the cornice, you need to fasten the canvas and assemble it. It will be possible to fasten the canvas at the end of the installation work.
  2. Try on the clip on the cornice, check the unit's performance.
  3. Depending on the specific clamp model, open the window sash and snap the clamp (upper edge of the window sash) into place. You can first separate the curtain rod and clips, snap them onto the sash - and then attach the curtain rod to the clip.
  4. Some models of clips are equipped with limiters that need to be fixed to the eaves.
  5. Attach the magnetic clips to the bottom of the window sash.
  6. Fasten the canvas, if it has not already been done.
  7. Fasten the magnets from the lower bar of the blind unit and the clips on the sash.

How to remove blinds?

Since there are a lot of models of blinds cassettes, there are also many ways to remove them.

If your blinds are mounted on twist brackets, then they are removed by turning the latch to the right by 90 degrees, while holding them. After turning, the cornice weakens, its upper edge needs to be tilted slightly towards the wall. The cassette comes out of the grooves, the blinds are removed. Depending on the purpose for which you remove the blinds, the canvas can be pre-assembled or left loose.

If the blinds are made in the form of a full-fledged curtain rod, then you need to very carefully (but at the same time applying a little effort) disconnect the upper decorative strip. Under it is the curtain mechanism. Pick up the canvas from the bottom up. Lift the blinds up and to the right, taking them out of the slots.

From the video below you can learn how you can independently remove horizontal blinds from removable latches-fasteners.

Installing blinds solves many window decor problems. Curtains, curtains, tulles, no matter what fabric they are made from, require frequent washing, as dust and dirt accumulate on them. The density of the curtains determines how well they let in or block light.

Blinds are much more convenient than curtains in many ways.

Depending on the angle at which the lamellas are located, they completely open the access of natural light to the room, partially block it, gently diffuse or completely isolate the room not only from light, but also from thermal radiation. They do not require special care, and installing blinds on your own is not difficult.

Varieties

Horizontal

A light-shielding design with a horizontal arrangement of slats that has become familiar, almost classic for window decoration.

Advantages:

  • Compactness. Are established directly on a window, leaving a window sill free. This saves space and allows you to place greenery on the window in favorable conditions for it;
  • Light weight design;
  • Strength and rigidity of the lamellas, preventing deformation;
  • fire safety;
  • Simple control mechanism;
  • Special coating or impregnation against dust, dirt, odors and grease;
  • Resistant to humidity and temperature extremes;
  • Miscellaneous materials for the manufacture of lamellas: wood, plastic, aluminum, less often fabrics;
  • Easy installation;
  • Affordable price.

It is worth mentioning some of the disadvantages:

  • When mounted on a frame, the angle of inclination of the window sashes when opening is limited;
  • The slats emit a characteristic knock or ringing in the wind. To avoid this, it is necessary to purchase lower fasteners, which are not included in the kit and quickly become unusable;
  • The design is subject to repair in case of severe deformation of several slats, but it will cost like new blinds;
  • Not suitable for balconies and loggias with sliding windows.

vertical

Distinguishes them from horizontal ones:

  • More aesthetic appearance. Horizontal blinds are more functional while vertical ones are decorative;
  • The ability to cover a large area with one cornice. Horizontal blinds are typically made up of narrow slats and are designed for minimalistic décor. large windows. Vertical models have different widths and easily cover the area of large windows, arches and doorways.
  • Variety of materials. They can be made of wood fibers, wood, aluminum, bamboo, plastic, woven and non-woven fabric, mirror, blackout, filament. The abundance of materials provides another advantage - the variability of colors and textures;
  • Modern and original design windows that open up more design possibilities;
  • Simplicity of control mechanisms. Both mechanical and electrical are possible;
  • The ability to place photo printing on the "curtains" due to the larger surface and the best performance material;
  • Practicality. Larger lamellas are easier to clean if necessary, which does not occur often. If, in case of severe contamination, for example, in a children's room, the lamellas still need to be subjected to hygienic procedures, this will not take much time - they can be washed by hand and in washing machine;
  • Possibility of installation on non-standard windows (triangle, trapezoid, arch, bay window);
  • The structure is in need of repair. To replace a particular part, you do not need to call the master, it is simple enough to do it yourself. You can replace the slats one at a time without having to dismantle the entire structure.

Vertical blinds, as the name implies, are a simple and convenient light-shielding design, consisting of longitudinal vertical plates.

Rolled

Roller blinds, roller blinds are solid canvases, often made of textiles, but other materials are also possible, which, like horizontal blinds, roll up. The height can be adjusted by fixing the curtain with a weighting agent on the bottom bar of the canvas.

Exists different types roller shutters: with an open drum (for mounting directly on the window) and with a decorative cornice; "mini" for installation on each frame separately and "roll-cassette" for curtaining the entire window as a whole.

There is an opinion that roller blinds are the most budgetary and practical option window decoration, but this is not entirely true. Of course roller shutters have their advantages: a variety of natural and synthetic fabrics, colors and patterns, ease of care (wet cleaning is allowed) and operation, the ability to fix the curtain at the desired height, special impregnations from dust, moisture, high temperatures and glare, compatibility with other types of curtains. It is convenient if necessary to hide the room from the sun, decorate the window with beautiful tulle so that it is not visible from the street what is happening inside.

But with so many advantages, they also have significant disadvantages.:

  • budget price- it's a delusion. Yes, by itself, a medium-sized curtain made of a common material will be inexpensive, but it will look boring. In order for the window design to be complete, it is necessary to think over additional decor, and this increases the cost at times;
  • Roller blinds in the bedroom, study and rooms with tall windows need electrical control. Electric drive designs are expensive, and some manufacturers also produce noise;
  • Impossible make a custom-made curtain from a certain textile. You can choose only specific products of a specific brand, since a set of fabrics for production roller blinds severely limited: translucent, textured, reflective, perforated, blackout and all, perhaps;
  • Maximum Width roller blinds - 280-300 cm, that is, to cover a large area with one cornice, for example, panoramic window or the balcony will not work;
  • Can there will be problems with installation not on the wall, but in the window opening, since the bobbin is wider in width than the curtain itself. There will inevitably be gaps on the sides of the window openings. Ceiling or wall mount preferred.

Pleated

This type of blinds is similar to both horizontal and roller blinds. The design consists of a control mechanism (chain or electric drive), weights, pleated fabric, which resembles accordion furs.

The range of materials, colors and textures is very diverse.

Peculiarities:

  • They close from top to bottom, like classic canvases, from bottom to top or from both sides at the same time. At the same time, the degree of density of the "accordion" can be adjusted, thus closing either the upper, or lower, or central part of the window;
  • Suitable for window coverings irregular shape;
  • The optimal solution for dormers, attics, skylights and slanted windows;
  • “Opening”, the canvas is compactly folded and hidden inside the eaves;
  • Suitable for installation on all types of windows;
  • Various ways fastenings and control mechanisms (manual and electric);
  • The woven fabric is washable;
  • The curtain fabric can be made of two types of fabric at the same time, which makes it possible to adjust the degree of transparency, darkening, sun protection;
  • Easy installation can be done by hand.

Pleated types:

  • Classic. In appearance, they are most similar to horizontal blinds, but they can also be vertical. Made from fabric, paper or plastic. Designed for darkening the room, protection from heating by sunlight, zoning inner space premises.

  • Corrugated. This type is a vertical and horizontal double pleat. As a result, the folds look more even, neat and dense. Corrugated plastic and paper in this design absorbs a significant part of the heat and protects from bright light.

  • Inclined. A kind of pleated window, especially for windows that are located at an angle in the attic or ceiling. Their feature is in a specific assembly system, which does not allow the web of any material to sag when at an angle. Mostly inclined models are produced with electronic control.

  • Arched. The most flexible canvases that take any shape, like a paper fan. A good solution for rooms with non-standard window shapes (arches, trapeziums, triangles, beveled windows).

  • "Day Night". The canvas of such blinds consists of two layers of fabric: a light fabric that transmits a large amount of light for daytime use and a dense, dark fabric for protection from the bright sun during the day and prying eyes in the evening.

Cassette

Such systems involve either the use of horizontal slats or a solid canvas, but are not horizontal blinds or roller blinds. They differ in the types of cassettes (angular, round, flat), controls ( different kinds mechanical and remote), the materials used (plastic, textiles, bamboo, aluminum).

Their main feature lies in the design, the special structure of which makes it possible to fix the blinds at a minimum distance from window glass. This prevents deformation, sagging, the appearance of wrinkles and irregularities, and completely opens the window sill.

Advantages:

  • Compactness. Cassette blinds occupy a minimum of space, leaving the owners the opportunity to show imagination and organize additional window decor or leave the window sill as a functional surface;
  • Simple and clear type of control;
  • Long service life. Special impregnation protects the fabric from dust, grease, dirt, moisture, abrasion;
  • Ease of hygiene procedures. Cassette systems do not require special care. It is enough to wipe their small surface area with a damp sponge with soapy water every few months;
  • A variety of designs for the interior in any style;
  • The tight fit of the canvas to the glass surface protects equally well from heat and cold;
  • The ability to mount the system yourself;
  • A variety of materials - from light window decoration to total blackout protection;
  • The ability to combine blinds with curtains, tulle, lambrequin.

Mounting methods

There are three types of blinds fastening: to the wall, ceiling, directly on the frame, and two ways - with and without drilling.

The universal basis of any fastening is a cornice, which different ways mounts to a wall, frame or ceiling.

with drilling

It is carried out with the help of self-tapping screws, brackets on which the cornice is installed, fishing line. Additionally, you will need a pencil, ruler, drill, screwdriver.

First you need to make a markup in those places where the brackets will be located.

For reliability and accuracy in the marked places, it is necessary to drill holes for the clamps. Then, applying the brackets in turn to the PVC frame, fix them to the markup with a screwdriver. Next, a cornice is installed and the whole structure is assembled as a whole.

without drilling

If in the future it is planned to replace blinds or other window decoration options, it is not recommended to damage plastic windows. Holes from self-tapping screws will remain in the frame forever and significantly spoil the appearance of windows. In this case, it is easier to turn to a method that does not require drilling.

Brackets in this case are attached in two ways:

  • for the upper part of the PVC profile on the opening doors (you can just hang it like a hook);
  • on double-sided tape, which can be glued without fear of leaving marks.

A special approach requires fastening the blinds on the balcony. The balcony structure plays an important role here. The choice of these or those blinds and the method of their fastening depends on the type of glazing. In general, almost all options are available for balconies. Particular attention should be paid to the type of blinds, since not all of them are universal for different types of windows. For example, horizontal blinds are not suitable for a balcony with sliding windows, as they can be deformed during operation or from strong winds.

Measurements and markings

The final result depends on how correctly the measurements are taken.

Even expensive beautiful models will not look good on the window if there are gaps in the opening or the edges of the lamellas constantly lift up against the wall.

It is important to pay attention to the following points:

  • For the most accurate indicators, a steel tape measure is used;
  • It is impossible to round the received figures, the accuracy must be observed to millimeters;
  • When ordering blinds, the width parameter is indicated first, the length - the second;
  • Not a single window opening has absolutely ideal geometric shapes, therefore, measurements up and down must be made at least at two points.

Horizontal

If you plan to mount blinds on the movable half of the window, you will need to measure the gap between the glazing beads and add from 30 mm, which will prevent gaps in the structure. The height of the blinds is equal to the height of the window sash.

To install a window inside the opening, measurements are required at three points in height and width, since the openings are not always absolutely proportional.

The width is identical to the wide side of the glass plus the thickness of the rubber seal. The length is identical to the height of the window (including elastic bands) and a margin of 1cm. To install the eaves, you will need an additional 30-40 cm to the slopes and loops. The chain of command is 2/3 of the height of the window.

When choosing to fix the cornice to the wall, the width parameter increases by 10 cm, the height is measured from the point of attachment of the brackets to the floor arbitrarily.

vertical

When installing in the armhole of the window, you need to determine the width at the top of the arch and subtract 20 mm. To determine the height, compare the height of the left and right sides of the arch, subtract 1 cm from the smaller value.

For wall mounting, at least 10 cm must be added to the wide side of the slope. The length of the slats can be any, but it is recommended to retreat 2 cm from the edge of the blinds to the floor.

Ceiling installation involves determining the height (to the floor or window sill) minus 2 cm, it is recommended to increase the width of the arch by 100+ mm.

Rolled

For mounting the canvases to the wall, only one measurement is required - from the edge of the window sill to the markings for the brackets, and the width can be up to 300 cm.

In the window arch, roller blinds are mounted after measuring the width, from which 4 centimeters must be subtracted, and the length of the canvas is equal to the height of the window minus 15 mm.

Pleated blinds similarly do not require a professional approach in taking measurements and installation.

Installation of vertical models

Vertical blinds are the most convenient way window decoration for independent execution. They are attached in three ways: to the ceiling, to the frame with drilling, to the frame without drilling.

In all cases, the fastener is a cornice with or without a decorative facade.

The brackets on which the structure rests are fastened with self-tapping screws, hung or glued on double-sided tape. Special adhesive tape, despite the seeming impracticality, is fixed very firmly, so it is important to correctly mark the brackets for installation. Once they are glued, moving them will be very problematic.

Installation order vertical blinds:

  1. Preparing tools. You will need a stepladder, a set of self-tapping screws from the kit, a building level and drawing accessories, a drill, a screwdriver.
  2. Applying pencil markings for installing brackets. To securely fix the fasteners, it is recommended to drill holes for self-tapping screws at the same stage.
  3. Mounting brackets in a suitable way (with or without drilling).
  4. Cornice installation.
  5. Lamella installation. To do this, you need to pull the control cord, on which the fasteners for the slats are located, so that they stand in the desired position. Then fix all the slats on the fastening hooks.

Installation of horizontal

For installation, you will need a set of tools: a drill, a cross-section screwdriver, a screwdriver, drawing accessories.

The instruction for installing horizontal blinds on windows contains a list of items, which is performed step by step:

  1. Draw a marking line for the installation of brackets. It should take into account the distance between the latches and the control mechanism, between the brackets (from 60 cm) and to the extreme sections on the blinds bar (25 cm). With a large width of the blinds and significant weight, it is recommended to use intermediate fasteners.
  2. Drill on the surface to which it is planned to mount the brackets holes for installing dowels. On plastic windows it is possible to apply blinds without drilling.
  3. Profile mounting.
  4. Fixing the upper rod of the blinds on the brackets. It is important to remember that the blinds at this stage are already assembled.

Working with horizontal models on sloping surfaces requires a little more effort and skill.

How to hang roller blinds?

Like other types, roller blinds or roller blinds are attached in several ways: they can be hung, glued, mounted on a frame.

First way- the easiest and most affordable for do-it-yourself installation is a fastening without drilling based on double-sided adhesive tape. Suitable for tilt-and-turn mechanisms on windows. It is carried out step by step:

  1. Degreasing the frame sections and fasteners that will be connected with adhesive tape.
  2. Roller shutter fixing.
  3. Roller blind installation. The chain mechanism can be installed from any convenient side.
  4. Bracket assembly.
  5. Bracket mounting markings. To do this, you need to install them on the assembled roller blind, install it on the window without fastening, mark the places for the adhesive tape with a pencil, remove the curtain.
  6. Application of adhesive tape on the back surface of the brackets, installation on the window.
  7. Setting the guide wire against sagging. It is attached to the “ear” of the upper bracket and curtain weighting agent, and is fixed at the bottom in the tensioner, which is installed on the frame.

The second method involves fastening to a stationary frame (not opening):

  • First of all you need to mount the roller blind, assemble the brackets and install them on the reel. Then this design must be fixed on the window in order to mark up for fastening.
  • Second step– fixing the brackets to the adhesive tape in the upper part of the frame and the string tensioner in the lower part. It is not necessary to pre-attach them with tape, but it is desirable to eliminate problems with subsequent drilling of holes for the screws. After installing the guide string, the curtain itself is mounted in the mechanisms.

How to fix cassette?

Cassette blinds can also be installed independently. Before installation, you must read the instructions, make sure that the complete set is complete, prepare all the necessary tools: a screwdriver, drawing tools, a screwdriver, a drill, cotton pads or a small piece of cloth, a degreaser.

When everything you need is collected, you can proceed to the first stage - degreasing the glazing beads. Then you need to remove the side covers of the box, raise it to the top of the frame, focusing on the guides, drill holes for the fasteners, fix with screws. You can use a screwdriver for this purpose, or you can perform the process manually with a Phillips screwdriver.

When the box is installed, you need to fix the covers on the sides. After that, you can glue the guide rails to the degreased frame. The guides should be below the corner of the glazing bead by a few centimeters.

Important nuances

Installation work window decoration requires certain skills and experience, but if you want to try it yourself, you need to take into account some of the nuances and features in this work.

Installation of blinds begins long before the preparation of the work surface and a set of tools.

The first step of this process- a balanced decision about the type and variety of blinds, material, color and texture, depending on the functionality of the room. So, it is more expedient to choose vertical blinds for the living room that let in light, for the bedroom automatic roller blinds with electric blackout fabric, and for the kitchen, where the smells of cooking and combustion products of food are constantly hovering - plastic blinds that do not absorb grease and dirt.

The second important point is the correct markup. Much depends on it, including how easy the installation process will be. If all the features of the architecture of window openings are taken into account by specialists when ordering blinds from them, everything will go smoothly and easily without the help of professional installers.

It is also important to consider whether it will be possible to open the window after installation, how the light protection devices will work, and whether there is a risk of their deformation.

The installation of blinds must be carried out exactly with the markup and subsequent verification of the functionality of the structure. Here the most important point is the choice between fastening - with or without drilling.

It is also necessary to provide for the type of control. For low windows, one of the varieties of mechanical direction is an excellent solution. Roof windows, slanted windows, windows in the bedroom are suitable for magnetic, automatic (electric) control with an electric drive.

Blinds perform not only protective, but also aesthetic functions. They are often used as a replacement for conventional massive curtains. The design is represented by a device that has a cornice and a control mechanism for lamellas, as well as connecting elements.

Types of blinds

The market is full of all kinds of products, their design depends on the location of the lamellas, and the price also depends on their variety. Consider what types can be found.

1. Horizontal

This type is considered the most common, the lamellas are parallel to the floor.

For their manufacture, a variety of materials are used:

  1. Aluminum. Such products have a long service life. They can be in different colors. Their lamellas are rigid and endure any temperature difference. They do not require additional care, it is enough to wash them with a damp cloth using a detergent.
  2. Wood. This species can also be called "Venetian". They do not differ in special technological properties; bamboo is used for their manufacture. They have a spectacular appearance, but at the same time their price is high.
  3. faux wood. This material is an alternative replacement natural wood, respectively, and the price for them is lower. Most often these blinds are used in rooms with high humidity.
  4. Fabric. For the manufacture of blinds, natural and synthetic fabrics are used.
  5. Plastic. Very practical, the lamellas are rigid and endure any temperature difference. It is advisable to install them in polluted areas. The choice is huge, presented in various colors and textures.

2. Vertical

Here, the lamellas are located vertically to the floor, their stability is achieved due to the weight, if they are plastic or aluminum structures. For the manufacture of vertical products, plastic, aluminum, fabric, wood are used.

Pros:

  1. Dust is well removed from them. This can be done with a vacuum cleaner, brush or damp cloth.
  2. Damaged slats can be replaced with others.
  3. Such products darken the rooms well, while fresh air enters without obstacles.
  4. Can be combined with tulles.
  5. You can always replace it with others without replacing the cornice.

Minuses:

  1. If you open a window, you have to collect the entire curtain to the side.
  2. Not suitable for all windows. In particular, not for those where the sashes on the opening window are less than 3 centimeters. In this case, it will not be possible to open it.

3. Pleated

According to their design, pleated blinds resemble an accordion, they rise with the help of an electric drive or a spring mechanism. Installed on any type of windows.

4. Roll

Such designs are also called, for their manufacture various fabrics are used, having different density, color, texture. In order for them to have antistatic, dust-repellent and antibacterial properties, they are impregnated with a special substance.

Advantages:

  1. Large selection of colors, besides, any pattern can be drawn on the canvas.
  2. Variety of fabrics. Cotton, silk, linen, polyester are suitable for their manufacture.
  3. They come with anti-reflective properties.
  4. Such products are harmoniously combined with tulle, you just need to choose the right colors.
  5. They take up little space due to their compactness.
  6. Easy to care for, clean with a damp cloth. And stains can be washed off with soapy water.

Flaws: can absorb unpleasant odors, and are not subject to washing.

Blinds selection

When choosing blinds, you should take into account:

  1. their functionality. Will the light get in or should it be completely blocked.
  2. Matching with furniture.
  3. The size.
  4. Mounting method.

You can take measurements yourself, while maintaining accuracy and accuracy:

  1. For a good result, it is necessary to use a tape measure without any rounding. Here it is necessary to observe accuracy to the millimeter.
  2. Parameters (width and length) are measured at the top, middle and bottom of the window.

When ordering products, it is necessary to take into account the moment in which they will be installed: on the sash, in the opening and on the wall:

  1. In the first option, you should measure the distance between the window glazing beads where the blinds will be attached.
  2. If the fastening will be carried out in the opening, then the window opening is measured at three points in height and width. A similar procedure is needed for insurance, since the openings have irregularities. The smallest number is selected from the results obtained.
  3. In the third case, the width of the product must be no less than the width of the opening by 10 cm. The length, respectively, must be greater than the window opening, since the cornice of the blinds will be fixed there.

Installation of horizontal blinds

This type of blinds can be attached to the ceiling, to the wall and in the opening.

To get started, do:

  1. Determination of the height and width of the product, based on the size of the window opening. In cases of their installation in the opening, it is recommended to subtract one and a half centimeters from the width of the product.
  2. Determines where the control will be placed (left or right).
  3. Mounting type is taken into account.

Depending on the design of the product, different types of fastening are used.

Mounting on brackets

  1. Given the dimensions of the device, the places where the brackets will be installed are marked. Between them, the distance should be 55-60 centimeters. Avoid hitting the brackets in the control mechanism, clamps and calipers.
  2. Brackets are fixed to the ceiling, wall or window sash.
  3. Turn the bracket latches counterclockwise to the full stop.
  4. The upper cornice of the product is inserted into the bracket, after which the latch is rotated clockwise until it stops.

Drilling installation:

  1. Brackets are installed on the upper part of the sash, and plastic corners are attached to the lower part.
  2. Along the edges of the upper cornice, cables are fixed in special bushings.
  3. The cornice is fixed to the brackets.
  4. Along the edges of the lamellas, through special holes, a cable is threaded.
  5. A second pair of bushings is installed in the lower brackets, through which the cable is threaded and fixed with a screw.
  6. The mechanism is fixed with a hook handle.
  7. The handle holder should be directed towards the sash.
  8. After the installation is completed, you should make sure that the design works.

Installation of the structure without drilling using overhead brackets:

  1. Places for installation of brackets are marked.
  2. Brackets are fixed with screws.
  3. A structure is installed on the upper part of the sash, after which it is fixed with a key.
  4. Slip-on bottom brackets are attached to the bottom of the sash.
  5. Cables are fixed in the bushings.
  6. The cornice is fixed on the brackets, after which the cable is threaded.
  7. Plastic bushings are guided into the holes located on the bottom bracket.
  8. With the help of a screw, it is necessary to fix the cable in the sleeve.
  9. The hook of the handle is fixed on the control mechanism, after which the holder for it is installed.
  10. In conclusion, it is necessary to check the work of the structure.

Installation of vertical blinds

The first step will be to take measurements, while vertical blinds do not have any special claims for measuring them. Here, more is taken into account where they will be located.

This type of curtain is attached in three ways:

  1. To the ceiling, to perform the function of ordinary curtains.
  2. Above the window opening, which will completely close the window, preventing sunlight from penetrating.
  3. Up window slope, while the sun's rays will partially penetrate the room.

Assembly of vertical blinds

Before installing the structure, it must be assembled in advance.

The process is simple, but requires special care:

  1. First you need to collect all the sliders together so that their notches are turned towards the master.
  2. Insert the lamellas into the sliders and fasten them tightly. A click will let you know that the connection is secure.
  3. Special weights are installed on the lower part of the slats.
  4. The chain must be attached to each element that is on the weight.
  5. After the performance has been verified, the design can be installed.

Installation. The installation process is carried out with the help of screws that must be screwed into the holes (they are located in the middle of the eaves).

  1. Having attached the cornice, it is necessary to mark the holes.
  2. In these places, it is necessary to make places for dowels with a puncher.
  3. The last step will be the installation of the eaves and fixing it with screws.

Installation of roller blinds

Such designs are particularly practical and functional. Their advantage over others is compactness and ease of installation. When measuring such curtains, the height and width of the glazing beads should be taken into account. Since these blinds are attached with double-sided tape, the surface must be prepared correctly.

Installation:

  1. Before starting installation, the glazing beads must be degreased. Alcohol may work for this.
  2. Roll guides should be carefully attached to the tape.
  3. Double-sided tape is used to fix the cassette box.
  4. The next step is to install the roll over the window sashes, after which they are aligned.
  5. Next, lower the curtain so that it falls into the guide grooves.
  6. The box is pressed very tightly against the wall.
  7. The final step will be to adjust the length of the chain, which serves to lower the curtains.
  1. In order to avoid any problems with blinds, you should give preference to trusted manufacturers with a good reputation.
  2. Before ordering or buying blinds, it is necessary to correctly and competently perform all measurements, taking into account the unevenness of the slopes.
  3. If installation is carried out on plastic windows, then it should be remembered that if the work is done incorrectly, the fasteners of the blinds or the window itself can be damaged.
  4. Having installed horizontal products, their bottom should be fixed.

Even 10-20 years ago there was no choice of window coverings - only massive curtains and curtains were hung on the windows. Progress does not stand still, and in recent years, new types of window curtains have appeared. The most popular now are blinds. In apartments, you can often see a combination of blinds + Roman blinds and blinds + curtain. This method of curtaining protects housing from the sun, street noise and is able to decorate the window. Increasingly, instead of heavy curtains and curtains, compact roller blinds and blinds are used in everyday life. They are much better suited to metal-plastic window frames. They are used in both offices and residential areas.

Types of blinds

Designers bring to life a variety of solutions that have no analogues. There are the following types of blinds:

  • plastic;
  • wooden;
  • fabric.

Installing blinds on a plastic window is a job that requires preparation. The installation process will depend on the type and shape of this product. Note that blinds are classified according to their shape:

  1. Horizontal.
  2. Vertical.
  3. Roll.

Horizontal are most suitable for living quarters. They do not take up space under the windows, they can be mounted both inside and outside the sash. Can be combined with curtains different sizes and styles.

Vertical blinds look best in office spaces. Their feature is that they can be mounted directly to the ceiling. They can visually increase the space, suitable for rooms with low ceilings.

Roller blinds have an extensive palette of colors that can decorate any room. Made of fabric, the easiest way to clean from dust and dirt. You can attach them in several ways.

In the CIS, most often you can find blinds made in China, Belarus and Russia in stores. Since the bulk of the population has plastic windows, especially in cities, it is necessary to study the information on how to properly mount them. Consider several options for how to attach them to the windows with your own hands, so as not to damage the window structures.

Standard installation of blinds on plastic windows

Blinds can be attached in a variety of ways. It can be:

  • drilling installation;
  • using double-sided tape;
  • with the help of magnets;
  • using brackets.

When buying, instructions are attached on how to hang blinds on plastic windows yourself. Basically advice is given on how to mount them by drilling windows. In this case, fastening is carried out to the window frame above the double-glazed window. You need to carefully study the instructions and carefully take measurements.

Blinds are installed in the following ways:

  • in the opening of a plastic window;
  • overlay;
  • for each half of the window separately.

Important! Before buying blinds for two window halves, make sure that the lifting mechanism is on the left and right sides. Otherwise, cords from different halves will interfere with each other.

Mounting blinds on windows using drilling is not suitable if you plan to change the type of curtain. After drilling, traces will remain on the window profile, and this will be noticeable. Blinds are fastened with screws, and at the moment this is the most reliable type of fastening.

Consider how to hang horizontal blinds on windows in more detail. The process can be divided into the following steps:

  1. We retreat 5-6 cm from both sides and outline the place for attaching the blinds. At this stage, you need to measure the distance very accurately, because with an error of even a couple of millimeters, your blinds will hang askew and will soon fail.
  2. We make holes for the brackets with a screwdriver, paying attention to whether the sash will open or not. If the window will open, then the hole is made in the upper part of the sash, if it is deaf, then on the outside.
  3. After inserting the blinds into the brackets, it is enough to snap them into place.
  4. On the side of the sash, you need to make a hole for the latch.
  5. Check how the mechanism works, whether it is convenient for you.

Vertical blinds are a little easier to install, you should do the following procedures:

  1. We make markings for the brackets, retreating 10 cm from the edge of the eaves.
  2. We drill holes and insert dowels into them. After that we fix the brackets.
  3. Fastenings together with lamellas are installed on the eaves.
  4. We assemble the runners, fasten them to the canvas, after that we fasten the weights in the lower part of the lamellae.
  5. You can check the operation of vertical blinds.

Brackets can be glued on double-sided tape if you do not want to spoil the window profile. If extra holes remain after drilling the window, they can always be removed with acrylic sealant.

If you purchased roller blinds, then you can use a different installation method to install them.

Alternative mounting types

It is not necessary to drill a window to attach the blind base. There are other options for attaching blinds to windows. To install roller blinds, you will need the following tools:

  • Double-sided tape;
  • liquid Nails;
  • scissors;
  • ruler or level.

Roller blinds are a smooth canvas that can be rolled up, raised, lowered using a special mechanism. Roller blinds do an excellent job of protecting from the scorching sun, at the same time decorating the living space Let's consider how to attach roller blinds to plastic windows. This type of curtains is hooked separately to each window sash. Roller blinds come in several types, and the method of fastening each type may vary.

The Mini roller system is a classic roller blind on a compact shaft. They can be easily installed on individual plastic window sashes. Fasteners are fixed without drilling, and thanks to this the frame remains intact. To prevent the fabric from sagging, the lower metal rail should be fixed using special magnetic holders. The sash can be opened in any way.

Cassette roller blinds are roller blinds that are assembled into a cornice that looks like a compact cassette. This type of curtain is suitable for flaps, plastic or aluminum. The most popular curtain options are Rollite and Uni systems. In models of these designs, strips for double-sided tape are provided. With the help of these strips, the guides are glued to the sash.

Cassette blinds are controlled by a single chain, which regulates the height of the curtain. A special retainer is installed on the window frame, which keeps the chain from sagging when the window is ventilated.

Isotra and Isolite systems are also popular. A plastic window with this type of blinds can be used in any mode without fear of breaking this system. Fastening is carried out on glazing beads, in which it will be necessary to make small holes. If these glazing beads are damaged, they can be quickly and easily replaced at any time.

Interestingly, the method of attaching blinds to the wall is still used. This type of installation does not harm the plastic window, you just need to make the right measurements.

Marking before installation

In the question of how to hang blinds on plastic windows, one of the main points is the correct measurements of the window and the design of the blinds. You need to take measurements before going to the store. The main thing is to comply optimal distance along the edges of the markup, armed with a ruler with a pencil. And it’s even better to mark on the window itself with a pencil using a level; in this case, you don’t need to rely on your personal feelings and measure by eye. It is necessary to mark the fasteners symmetrically from all sides. When installed inside the window opening, our design should not reach 3 cm. When installed on top, the window should protrude at the edges no more than 5 cm. The height should be 3-4 cm more. It is necessary to ensure that the blinds do not go beyond the glass.

It happens that the mounting plates do not fit snugly against the window profile. In this case, special linings are used, which, depending on the gap, are used in different quantities - from one to four pieces.

It is necessary to measure the height and width of the window along the light opening to the edge of the sealing rubber bands. Then measure the depth of the bead from the glass to the outer surface of the profile. It is necessary to take into account the presence window fittings so that it does not interfere with the operation of the blinds. If you make the wrong measurements, then unnecessary sunlight will break through the cracks in the blinds.

The Holis and Magnum system is used to fasten horizontal plastic blinds.

Before installing blinds, you need to prepare window openings. They must be even and clean. Ideally, they should be degreased.

Remember, with the slightest mistake in measuring and installing fasteners, there is a big risk of spoiling both the windows and the structures themselves. Do-it-yourself installation of blinds should be treated with more care and attention, as this is a very painstaking work.

How to choose blinds

When choosing blinds for your apartment, you need to carefully select the material, color and texture in order to harmoniously fit this type of curtain into the living space. If you have a glazed balcony, then plastic or aluminum blinds will be the only right solution for balcony windows.

An important advantage of blinds is their compactness, heat and sound insulation. When using this type of curtains, your window sill is freed. You can save a lot on electricity consumption, as the blinds protect the living space from excess sunlight and heat. In summer, the air conditioner will operate in a more economical mode. Now you can buy designs not only from plastic and aluminum, but from bamboo and wood.

Vertical blinds are often treated with special dust-repellent solutions. This design can be rolled up and washed in a washing machine or by hand.

Quite an interesting look for decorating the interior with pleated curtains. Pleated blinds are made of pleated fabric and are attached directly to the window. Close such curtains with a cord.

The most refined and expensive look at wooden blinds. Wooden plates do not rattle, have a natural structure, protect the room from light and do not heat up. They ennoble the room and fit into any interior, suitable for both offices and bedrooms. They are made from Canadian linden and cork varieties.

You can also choose multiimpressive blinds - a combination of plastic and fabric. Vertical plastic blinds are made curly, because of this, the entire room is filled with a variety of light reflections. They are like curtains made of airy fabrics.

A novelty on the market - photo-blinds. Any pattern is applied to the white slats, and when opening the blinds, you can admire a beautiful picture.

Japanese curtains are a combination of several fabric panels made of fabrics or plastic. They move along the eaves with different guides, they can move and move apart.

You can always change the outfit for your windows by buying new blinds - and you have a room updated without repair. Be careful when choosing the color of the curtains, paying attention to the colors of the furniture in the room.

Good afternoon everyone!

Today I would like to talk about installing blinds on a plastic window. The opinion that window openings in residential premises should be covered with textile curtains is a thing of the past.

Blinds are diverse and functional so much that they will give odds to any curtains and tulle. Before buying a design of a certain color or size, you need to think about how it will be located on the window and how you can install it.

  • vertical or horizontal slats,
  • rolled or pleated,
  • fabric or plastic - regardless of these indicators, blinds can be mounted using power tools and without it.

It is important to choose the location option:

  1. in the window opening
  2. over it
  3. or directly on the window sash.

Each of these cases should be considered separately.

Blinds - the most practical way window decorations. Easy to install and low maintenance blinds are very popular. Due to the variety of types and colors, they will harmoniously fit into any room and complement the interior of the room. In this article, we will consider the types of blinds and how to install them on windows. We will learn how to fix blinds on our own in different ways.

Kinds

In building stores, eyes run wide from a variety of colors and textures of window decor. How to choose the right blinds and install them correctly? First of all, let's figure out what types of blinds exist.

  1. Horizontal blinds. The most practical, close the window tightly and protect from light and prying eyes.
  2. Vertical blinds. Most often they are installed in offices or used to decorate blind windows, as they make it difficult to open windows.
  3. Roller blinds. Close the window very tightly. They can become an independent design of a window opening.
  4. Cassette blinds. They consist of a special box, which is installed on the frame. Do not prevent windows from opening.

How to choose

When choosing blinds, start from the functional purpose of the room and the general style of the room. Blinds can be fabric, plastic, aluminum, bamboo, etc.

The variety of colors and textures will allow you to choose the decor that suits your room. Be sure to measure your window before purchasing. This will allow you to choose the product of the appropriate size.

How to install blinds yourself

So, the blinds are bought. Do not rush to call the installation wizard. You can quite cope with this task yourself. In addition to acquiring a useful skill, installing blinds can be an interesting family pastime.

Blinds are installed in three ways:

  1. In the overlay. The product is attached at the top of the opening, and closes the entire window to the window sill or below.
  2. In the window opening. Blinds are mounted in the window opening closer to the window. Also close the entire window to the windowsill.
  3. For each sash separately. The most practical way. The blinds are attached directly to the sash, thereby allowing the sashes to be opened or the window to be ventilated without lifting the blinds.

Note!

When taking measurements, you need to make an allowance depending on the type of installation. If you are going to fasten the blinds overlay - add 10 cm to the width and height of the window opening. You will install blinds in the window opening - the height of the opening in its pure form, the width - minus 1.5 cm. When installing on each sash - the width of the sash is minus 2 cm, the height of the sash is minus 3 cm.

Each type of blinds has its own installation features. Next, we consider separately the principles of fastening products of each type.

Installing horizontal blinds

Usually, all necessary fastenings are included with horizontal blinds. Armed with a screwdriver, we proceed to the installation. They are installed in the window opening or on each sash separately.

  1. To fix the blinds to the window, measure the desired distance and mark the places where the top bar will be attached.
  2. Using a screwdriver, drill holes and attach the corners that will hold the top bar.
  3. Attach the plank to the corners. First on one, then on the second. You should hear a click when attaching.
  4. Dissolve the fixed canvas down, mark the points where the bottom bar will be attached.
  5. Install the bottom bar in the same way as the top bar using the corners.

Installation of vertical blinds

Vertical blinds consist of a cornice with clamps that regulate the sliding / sliding and slats - a canvas that closes the window.

The kit contains all the necessary fasteners, as well as detailed instructions by installation. This type of blinds is installed overlaid.

  1. Attach the cornice with clips to the ceiling. You can use the same screwdriver to fix the eaves.
  2. Insert the slats into the eaves. Each part of the canvas must be mounted separately. To do this, insert each strip into the corresponding latch, wait for a characteristic click.

Installing roller blinds

Roller blinds have the same mechanism as horizontal blinds and are installed in the same way. It is most convenient to mount roller blinds directly on the sash, then they will not interfere when opening windows. If you need to fix them in a window opening, it is better to use additional brackets, because the window handle protrudes several centimeters. Without brackets, the handle will stick out from under the canvas and spoil the overall look.

Installation of cassette blinds

Cassette-type blinds are a ready-made box with a mechanism that is attached to the window frame. Installation is quite simple.

  1. Attach the top bar to the canvas with screws.
  2. Then glue the side guides (usually on an adhesive basis) onto the sash vertically.
  3. Expand the canvas, adjust the borders of the upper and lower positions of the canvas.
  4. Install all accessories.

Useful advice!

Blinds have a clear geometric shape, so carefully measure and calculate the attachment points to avoid asymmetry and unnecessary holes.

How to fix blinds on plastic windows

What to do if you need to fix the blinds to the sash, but you can’t drill plastic windows? In this case, you can install blinds using brackets. The devices are attached to the frame, and the supporting structure of the blinds is mounted on them. You can fix the bracket to the window frame using:

  • double-sided tape;
  • hook on the upper part of the frame of the opening sash.

This method will allow you to securely fix the product, and preserve the integrity of the metal-plastic profile.

To properly install blinds with your own hands, it is important:

  • decide on the type of blinds you want to purchase;
  • select best option installations;
  • take measurements of the window, take into account the necessary margin;
  • when installing, strictly observe the dimensions of the product;
  • carefully mark the drilling points;
  • follow the instructions included in the kit.

How to take measurements

How to install blinds

Use dowels and screws that are appropriate for the fasteners and the material of the wall or ceiling to which the blinds will be attached.

Note!

Before installing fasteners, check if the folded blinds prevent the window from opening.

We advise you to carefully look for window handles, flower pots(and other “foreign” objects on the window sills) interfere with the opening and closing of the blinds and the rotation of the slats (window sill, radiators, etc.)

How to install horizontal blinds

  1. Measure the same distance from each edge of the window.
  2. Drill the wall and insert a dowel suitable for the material of the wall (concrete, plaster, etc.) into it, then screw the fixing with screws.
  3. Using a level and ruler, mark the location of the second fastener. Screw the second fastener in the same way as the first.
  4. When installing horizontal blinds, it is necessary to use an additional intermediate fixing if the width of the blinds exceeds a certain distance. To attach vertical blinds with a width of more than 1.6 m to the ceiling, you need to install 3 mounting brackets.
  5. Place an additional fastener 10 cm away from the control cord (this is where the louver mechanism experiences the most stress).
  6. Fasten blinds to mounts

Cutting horizontal blinds to width

  1. Lay the folded blinds on a horizontal surface and measure from each side the part that needs to be cut off. It is necessary to cut off equal parts of the blinds on the left and right.
  2. Cut off the cornice and rail. Be sure to cover the slats so as not to damage them.

Height cutting blinds:

  1. Remove the parts that are under the lower cornice at the bottom of the blinds in such a way as to release the cord.
  2. Untie the knots to free the slats.
  3. Remove excess slats to achieve the required blind height.
  4. Align the blinds by inserting the bottom curtain rod into the last link.
  5. Cut off the free ends of the cord, tie knots and put the lower cornice pieces in place.

Roller blind cutting

  1. Using a hacksaw, cut off the tube and bottom cornice.
  2. Cut the fabric with scissors. If a pattern is applied to the curtains, it is necessary to cut equal parts of the curtains on the left and right.
  3. Installation of roller blinds on the tube is carried out using double-sided adhesive tape located on it. (Be careful not to unfold the curtains all the way: always leave some fabric on the tube).

Cutting vertical blinds

Cutting the control rail of vertical blinds.

The slats are easy to cut and install. Cut the slats with scissors to the desired height, following the instructions on the package. Cut off the control rail with a hacksaw.

When choosing the material of the blinds, it is necessary to take into account in which room they will hang. For the bathroom and kitchen, plastic blinds are best suited - they are not afraid of moisture and are easy to clean. For the kitchen, you can also recommend aluminum blinds that do not support combustion.

Why are blinds needed?

Their main characteristics are: the ability to easily attach to windows, ease of use and excellent performance of their main function - regulating the light in the room. With constant work at the computer, it is also impossible to do without the use of blinds.

The only question in this case is to understand how you can hang blinds on plastic windows in order to get the most out of their use.

Step-by-step instructions for installing blinds

Determine the size

So, the first step is to buy blinds of the selected production, the appropriate size and other individual characteristics. It should be noted that before going shopping, it is necessary to determine the size of the glass: taking into account this value, you need to know that the blinds must completely cover the glass (in width), slightly going to the limits of the frame.

Unpacking

After the purchase, the initial business is to unpack and untangle the cord, as well as to make out the fasteners.

From what is included in the package, dowels can be set aside, because in this case the blinds will be attached directly to the window.

Deciding on fasteners

We find a mount for which we will mount our blinds. The second step in installing the blinds is to find two metal brackets with latches. This will be required in order to subsequently fix the container with the "blinds" on them.

We make the markup and install the mounting brackets

The next step is markup. For its correct implementation, first of all, you must carefully read the instructions. After all, you need to place the mounting brackets in such a way that it is easy to insert a container into them.

In other words, you need to find the optimal distance from the end of the markup. An important point at this step, there is a complete exclusion of amateur performance: everything on the window should be drawn with a pencil according to the level, but not by eye.

Otherwise, the curvature of the fit will immediately catch your eye when the plates rise, and this does not look very aesthetically pleasing. It is also necessary to pay attention to the fact that the bars do not move outside the glass, since if there is a shift, the adjustment of the container will be violated.

Useful advice!

Brackets must be fastened with latches upwards. However, before that, it is necessary to drill the window with a drill (thin), and then direct the screws towards the plastic.

If everything is done carefully, then nothing terrible will happen to the window, because the remaining drilled holes removed with acrylic sealant. However, with the accuracy and caution of the execution of this step, they will not be at all.

We put on the container

Then the container is put on. We cover the latches and determine the correct fit. In the event that the brackets are firmly located on the window, and the container is easily removed or put on, it is required to say that the work was done perfectly. However, it is not yet fully completed.

The last thing left is to install the lower holders. Their role is to fix the web of slats and fasten it to protect it from free movement. When lifting, the lower edge of the web must be removed from the holders by hand.

Installing the bottom brackets

In order to mark the lower holders, you need to lower the canvas down. Then you need to estimate by eye their position in the case of a tightly stretched canvas.

With a dangling web, it is impossible to accurately measure the lower holders. After a correct measurement, it is imperative to drill holes and screw the holder with screws.

Mounting holders

At this stage, the question begins to disturb: how should the holder be twisted - outward or inward?

The answer is quite simple: both when screwing in and out, the result remains the same, in any case, no screws remain visible. Therefore, here it is already required to rely on your convenience and principles.

This completed the process of attaching the blinds to the window.
