Household appliances from Midea appeared on the Russian market not so long ago, so when I was offered to take a dishwasher for a test, I happily agreed.
We chose, of course, 45 centimeters so that we could put our installation in place.
Here is such a classically white, free-standing, but by unscrewing a few screws, we successfully transformed it into an embedded version:
This is not the most advanced model. As I already wrote, they are equipped with an InnoWash sprinkler, which allows you to better wash dishes and Turbo Drying. The unit in question is a classic dishwasher that is affordable. And she has a regular sprinkler.
In Russia, dishwashers generally began to win the hearts of consumers relatively recently, but despite the fact that we have been using a dishwasher at home for only 10-12 years, I had a chance to compare 6 models from leading manufacturers. Two of them were full-sized (width - 60 cm). Therefore, I won’t have to wait for delight from the fact that after washing the dishes are clean;)
DISHWASHING MODES
In my opinion, all machines really wash it and the quality of washing depends primarily on how strong the pollution was and the program was adequately selected for it (washing a pan with burnt porridge on an express program or a program for washing glasses is irrational), which one is used means, whether the filters are clean, whether the water is hard, how the dishes are arranged. And after that comes the washing efficiency class, which is determined in the laboratory for a new machine. Midea MFD 45S500 W, like most modern machines, has class A.
(I wonder, by the way, who buys what kind of dishwashing detergent and in what form.)
At the end of the door there are tips on programs and functions.
Functions are connected in addition to the main program. For example, you can choose an intensive wash program and aggravate with extra cleaning, choose additional drying or an express program option. Additional functions are not activated if the pre-soak mode is selected, automatic program or the glass washing program.
There are two interesting additional features which I didn't have before.
Everything is clear about the first of them - this is a delayed start. When you have a three-rate meter, it is very convenient to run the washing machine and dishwasher at night. The delayed start function allows you to load the car at any time and delay the start until the hour when the electricity tariff is at its lowest.
One friend said that he connected his old washing machine through the socket-timer for this purpose. But this can work with old mechanically controlled equipment, but with most modern models it will no longer work - with the electricity turned off, it will not be possible to set the program.
In general, the delayed start function is a must have, before that I could find a loaded machine in the morning, for which I forgot to press the “start” button.
The second is loading one basket. You may have come across the fact that sometimes you need to wash a small amount of dishes. You can select the basket in which the dishes are loaded, and then the mode in which washing is carried out only in this basket. Washing in two baskets is automatically exposed.
USER CONVENIENCE
One of the most important factors in convenience for me is the location of the trays and holders for plates and cutlery.
For example, in Lately many people say how much more convenient it is to use a separate cutlery basket compared to a small basket that is additionally placed in the machine.
I can’t say that I myself am so categorical. I used a Midea dishwasher with a separate drawer for a month and did not notice a fundamental difference in ease of use. If you need to insert devices into the cells in the mobile basket, then here, too, all the devices are laid out one at a time so that they are well washed. An obvious plus of a separate basket for cutlery is that the place in the main basket for placing a mobile is not eaten up, which is often very important. I think that's why the official capacity of Midea is 10 "spherical" sets of dishes, against 8 for my old dishwasher.
However, I have already used cars with a separate basket for cutlery (in significantly more expensive models), which is probably why I already treated this innovation calmly.
The second - plates and pans. However, everything here is relatively standard. Pleased with the distance between the "pins". Sometimes they are made so tightly that you can put 1.5 times more plates, but if you put them like that, the plates are poorly washed.
When loading, there are two nuances. A large ladle does not fit into the cutlery tray and has to be thrown into the basket for cups and plates.
Plates should be placed in the middle basket so that the plate cups do not block the water connection.
It would be nice if the manufacturer provided "foolproof" in this node, because. literally on the second day of operation, I safely covered this knot with a bowl and for a long time was indignant why this basket did not want to move in completely.
Third. When you turn on the machine, the ECO program is automatically displayed. It is long and economical (duration 195 minutes, power consumption 0.74 kWh, water consumption 8 liters). Since in the old car I immediately turned on the program I used earlier, I had to get used to having to install the program each time if ECO did not seem universal. However, it may well become a favorite program if you run the dishwasher once a day at night. The dishes are washed well, for heavy soiling, you can add an additional intensive cleaning function.
for washing dirty dishes There is a 90 minute program. It is less economical (energy consumption 1.15 kW / h, and water consumption 11.5 l), but after 1.5 hours the dishes will be clean.
CAPACITY
Dishwasher designed for 10 sets of dishes. But we don't wash dishes in sets, do we? Therefore, I was interested not in how many plates can be neatly arranged at the same time, but how convenient it will be to wash large-sized items, for the sake of which plates and cups have to be fairly moved.
In the photo: 14 large plates, 6 medium and 4 small ones (the medium ones are over, but they would fit), 16 saucers, 12 glasses.
I have several items that were difficult to place - tall jars, a large saucepan, and a glass cutting board. In order for them not to interfere with either the baskets or the sprinkler, it was necessary to limit the load and place them at an angle.
Despite the fact that the volumes of dishwashers are approximately the same, due to the location of the middle basket, everything fits easily and freely in the bottom one. To be honest, I was very surprised by this.
Midea. Both the 9 l pot and the board fit into the machine without interfering with each other and the water sprinkler:
In this case, the middle tray is in the lower position. If necessary, it can be raised a few more centimeters.
Old machine (photo below). The board rises only at an angle. A pan with a smaller margin, but fits ("pins" are lowered to the side for this):
At the same time, washing them in the old typewriter never worked, unlike Midea.
CONCLUSIONS
This model is quite simple and you can find more sophisticated ones on the market even from the same manufacturer. They will have touch buttons, extra-drying, a sprinkler that does not move in one plane.
Nevertheless, it washes well, all the basic functions necessary for work are here. And delayed start, and a short 90-minute program, and intensive washing. There is also a separate tray for cutlery, and a salt compartment, thanks to which you can reduce the hardness of the water and improve the quality of washing dishes, and an aqua stop, and much more. And the fact that all this is available for only 15.5 thousand rubles allows you to significantly save on the background of models of similar functionality from famous brands.
There remains the traditional question of reliability. There are no serious statistics here yet, but it is worth noting that the manufacturer gives a guarantee of 24 months (against 12 for most). Well, the machine itself was taken in a long life test, so I will cover all the interesting points related to its operation.
Lack of free space in the kitchen is not a reason to refuse a good dishwasher. After all, the manufacturer Midea offers you compact narrow models, the width of which is only 45 centimeters. Such dishwashers are in no way inferior to full-size ones in terms of energy efficiency, the quality of washing and drying, and the number of useful options. Of course, a 45 cm dishwasher has a slightly smaller capacity - up to 10 sets of dishes, but for a small family this capacity is enough.
