What does a clothes dryer look like in a bathroom? Clothes dryer in the bathroom - a necessary attribute

Gone are the Soviet times, when on weekends multi-colored flags in the yards and on the balconies were full of washed linen. Now the situation has changed, and the housewives prefer to dry things at home, because in the cold period in the loggias and on the balconies they dry for too long, and there is no certainty that after such drying they will not become even dirtier than before washing, from the dirt reigning in the atmosphere of the streets and soot. But in the apartment you won’t hang clothes in all the rooms either, so things are usually dried in the bathroom. And so that they do not take up much space and dry faster, a clothes dryer installed in the bathroom is the best solution to the problem. But how not to get confused in the variety of offers and choose exactly the one that would meet all the needs of the family and the hostess herself? What kind of dryers are there, where can they be placed and how many things can they withstand? These questions concern everyone who decides to install such a structure at home.

Ceiling

Manufacturers have taken care of the ease of use of this design. It is equipped with several metal tubes, their number reaches eight pieces. With the help of a rope suspension, they fall one by one or all together and rise in the same way, which is very convenient.

The main advantage of the dryer is that it does not take up a usable area, it is adjustable in height, and the laundry on it dries faster due to the warm air that collects at the top. Such a design can be installed in any part of the ceiling: above the bathtub - then the drops flowing from things will fall directly into it, above the washing machine - in this case, hanging linen will in no way interfere with the adoption water procedures. The length of the tubes is adjustable depending on the size of the room. They can even be fixed to a false ceiling, you just need to first consult with a specialist, and if the ceilings are monolithic, then it will have to be fixed with anchor bolts.

The housewives fell in love with this design because of the comfortable operation and the ability to place more than 20 kg of washed laundry on it. What does a ceiling-mounted bathroom clothes dryer look like? The photo above gives a clear idea.

floor

Such a clothes dryer, installed in the bathroom, is reliable and convenient. On a folding base, metal threads are arranged in parallel. The design is created like an ironing board: it is easy to unfold and fold, and in this form it takes up very little space in the apartment. Its advantage is that the drying area is quite large, and a large amount of laundry can be placed on it. Another plus is mobility: if someone from the family decides to wash, then moving it to the room will not be difficult. Now there are new modifications that resemble whatnots, they can fit even more linen. But there is a drawback: such designs are very attractive to young children. They can pull off drying clothes and tip the dryer onto themselves. Therefore, if she migrated from the bathroom to the living area, it is better to put her in a separate room and close the door.

Bathroom clothes dryer wall mounted

This kind of dryer is an excellent choice for small spaces and for families with children. preschool age. There are three types:

Electrical

If there are many family members, then the bathroom electric clothes dryer - perfect option. It costs, of course, not cheap, but at the same time, the laundry on it will dry almost instantly. Yes, and you can save a lot on installation: usually the manufacturer supplies the buyer detailed instructions even with step by step photos, but caution does not hurt here - after all, electricity requires increased attention. In appearance, the design resembles a heated towel rail with a wire. These dryers are compact when assembled.

When installing the structure, it is advisable to take into account that it should be located far from the source of moisture so that splashes do not fall on it. The distance from the floor is at least 20 cm, and from furniture - 75 cm. The socket should be placed in a safe place, but not above the dryer, as the vapors from the drying clothes rush upwards.

The advantages of this design are undeniable: the laundry dries several times faster; if the heating is already turned off, it can heat the bathroom for bathing the baby; indispensable for poor ventilation and dampness.

Other types

You can buy a device consisting of a frame with slats or ropes, which is placed directly on the bath. It is good that water from wet things does not drip onto the floor. But the laundry dries for a long time, and it will be problematic to use the shower, and the stability of the structure is unimportant.

The dryer, fixed to the battery, of course, allows you to dry the laundry in a short time, provided that the heating is on, but not all bathrooms have batteries, so they are often also attached to the bath itself, which is very inconvenient: movement is limited, it is difficult to use the shower.

On sale there is also a folding clothes dryer, installed in the bathroom. It can be attached to a window or door. It is small, and there is not much room for linen on it, but this design helps out in the tiny rooms of Khrushchev.

Which one to choose

So that the clothes dryer installed in the bathroom does not disappoint after purchase, choosing it should take into account the features of the room, the functionality of use, the amount of laundry to be washed, practicality, the quality of the material and the aesthetic needs of the hostess.

For small-sized housing, ceiling and wall dryers are suitable. They will not absorb space and will allow optimal use of a small bathroom area. If there is little laundry or things for the baby are being washed, then console dryers are suitable.

The floor structure is appropriate in a large bathroom, but if the room does not allow, then it can be moved to the room.

The material from which the dryers are made is also important. Aluminum ones weigh little, are inexpensive, but it should not be ruled out that they will not last for a long time: they often break, aluminum is a fragile metal and bends under the weight of wet laundry. This is especially true for budget dryers made of this material.

Metal dryers should be chosen only with a coating, otherwise they will become rusty at high humidity. The practicality of such structures ends as soon as the integrity of the coating is damaged. Rust spots appear on the tubes, which pass to the linen and irrevocably spoil it.

Stainless steel is one of optimal materials for the dryer: it can withstand fairly large loads, does not corrode and looks attractive.

Pay attention to small details and accessories of the product: their reliability guarantees a long service life. The fasteners must be of high quality, the hinges must be strong, then the clothes dryer for the bathroom will last a long time, and you can be sure that it will not fall from the wall or ceiling at the wrong time. Its strings should be smooth and even, without burrs and notches. Sometimes a responsible manufacturer adds the dowels and screws necessary to install the dryer to the kit, then there is no problem in self-selecting them by size.

Regardless of which clothes dryer for the bathroom is chosen, in any case, it will allow you to quickly and efficiently solve the problem of drying things in the apartment and even decorate the room with interesting and unexpected design solutions.

Clothes dryers, whose popularity has increased markedly, allow you to avoid many inconveniences: washed things do not have to be hung throughout the apartment, they dry faster, wrinkle less and do not interfere. The ease of use of the dryer largely depends on the design itself, its dimensions, functionality, and material of manufacture.

To pick the most best option, you should learn more about the types of dryers, their pros and cons, as well as installation methods.

Modern clothes dryers are available in a wide range - from standard crossbeams on racks to electric models with several temperature conditions. They differ not only in shape and size, but also in the installation method, in addition, each dryer is designed for certain loads. Most models are made of aluminum, stainless steel and plastic, although wooden products are also quite in demand.

Depending on the design, dryers can be installed on the floor or sides of the bath, mounted on the wall or ceiling. It is the installation method that is the most important criterion when choosing a model, and in order not to be mistaken, it is better to study in advance the main characteristics of each type.

Floor models

A floor dryer is usually a folding frame with horizontal bars or stretched metal strings, on which laundry is hung. When unfolded, the dryer takes up quite a lot of space (especially designs with additional modules), but it allows you to conveniently place a large number of things. When assembled, the thickness of the dryer does not exceed 10 cm, and it can be easily pushed between the bathtub and the washing machine. On average, such models can withstand about 20 kg of wet laundry, and the weight of the structure itself is no more than 3.5-4 kg.

In addition to standard horizontal dryers, there are multi-tiered rack-type models on sale, which also fold and are equipped with wheels for ease of movement. When unfolded, they occupy less space than horizontal ones and are ideal for drying small items - underwear, socks, shirts, blouses, and so on.

Advantages of floor structures:

  • ease of use and durability;
  • light weight;
  • excellent capacity;
  • the dryer can be placed in any convenient place;
  • no need to mount fasteners.

There is only one minus for such dryers - they occupy a usable area, and for small apartment this is a very pressing issue.

Floor dryers

wall models

Dryers mounted on the wall are much more convenient to use. They are rails with crossbars for hanging clothes. Wall structures are telescopic, sliding, with adjustable crossbars in height. There are compact models with a spring drum in the body that allow you to stretch the strings between opposite walls. Things hung at the top do not interfere with using the bathroom, unless it is bed linen, and after assembly, the dryer harmoniously fits into the interior and does not annoy the eyes.

Advantages:

  • small capacity;
  • the maximum load should not exceed 7-10 kg, depending on the model;
  • for installation, it is necessary to drill the walls.

Suspended models

By design, ceiling dryers resemble wall dryers, only their guides are attached to the ceiling. The height of the crossbars is adjustable, when hanging the laundry, they can be easily lowered to the desired level, and then pulled up again. Moreover, each crossbar can move independently of the others, which makes the operation of the dryer even more convenient. As a rule, such structures are mounted above the bathtub so that puddles from drops from wet laundry do not form on the floor.

  • hung things do not take up useful space and almost do not interfere with using the bathroom;
  • dryers are compact and aesthetically pleasing;
  • designs are easy to use.

The disadvantage of such dryers can be called the complexity of installation. Fasteners must be as strong and reliable as possible, as well as ceilings, so that under the weight of wet things the entire structure does not fall down.

Bath dryers

These dryers are foldable lightweight frames with thin tubes or strings. They can be laid out in a horizontal position on top of the bath or placed at an angle on opposite sides. To prevent the racks from slipping, they have special plastic clamps. There are also models that are hung on the side of the side or on the heating radiator. They are very small and are mainly used for drying towels, socks, underwear.

The advantages of such dryers include only light weight and ease of operation, as for convenience and functionality, here they noticeably lose. You can’t hang a lot on these structures; they are also not suitable for drying bed linen. In addition, while things are drying, there is no way to take a bath, since the dryer is located directly above it.

Electric dryers

Electric dryers are no less in demand than conventional ones, even despite the high cost. They are indispensable if you need to quickly dry a jacket, a warm sweater, a blanket and other similar things that, under normal conditions, will dry for several days. Electrical Models are also very diverse and can be floor, wall, hanging. Most of them are equipped with thermostats, which allows you to choose the optimal drying mode, depending on the type of laundry. There are also dryers with electronic timers, thanks to which you can adjust the duration of the device. Such dryers consume very little electricity, operate almost silently, withstand loads of about 15 kg.

  • fast and uniform drying;
  • ease of use;
  • when folded, the dryer takes up a minimum of space.
  • high price;
  • additional energy costs;
  • the need for safety precautions.

Electric clothes dryers

When choosing a dryer, special attention should be paid to the material of manufacture. Stainless steel products are rightfully considered the most practical and durable. They do not lose their appearance over time, withstand the greatest loads, do not leave stains on things and are easily cleaned of plaque.

Powder-coated aluminum models also look great at first, but with heavy use, the coating begins to peel off, and the aluminum leaves dark marks on the linen.

Plastic products are the most affordable and look attractive, but their service life is rather limited. And you can’t exert a heavy load on them, otherwise the plastic case will quickly break. Over time, such dryers lose their attractive appearance, the plastic turns yellow, the strings sag.

As for wooden dryers, with proper care, they can last a very long time, in addition, such models most often have an original shape and look harmonious in the bathroom interior. But if you have to wash often and in large quantities, it is better to refuse a wooden dryer in favor of a metal one.

When choosing, you need to pay attention to the quality of the connections, the density of the coating, the ease of movement of the elements. Strings or rods should not be too dense: optimal distance is 7-10 cm, if it is smaller, then things will touch each other and dry longer. The frame of the dryer should not have sharp protrusions, traces of welding, spots, roughness. If the base shines through the coating, it is better to refuse such a purchase - very soon the paint will begin to peel off.

In a high-quality dryer, all elements have an even color, a smooth, even surface, the tubes are closed at the ends with plugs, as are the junctions. The packaging must indicate the complete set, all dimensions, weight, the presence of installation instructions is mandatory.

Options for installing a clothes dryer in the bathroom

To install a dryer in the bathroom does not require special knowledge and skills, so it is not at all difficult to cope with the installation. The order of fastening the elements may differ slightly depending on the design of the product, therefore, before installation, you should carefully read the manufacturer's instructions. Most often, mistakes are made when installing ceiling dryers, and therefore we will consider the options for their installation in more detail.

Installation of the dryer "Liana"

Before starting work, all elements of the dryer must be laid out on the table and checked for completeness. Fasteners are usually included in the kit, but they are not always reliable, and many craftsmen prefer to buy them separately. In addition to the dryer itself, you will need a pencil, a hammer and a drill with the appropriate drill bits for concrete and tiles.

Step 1. Choose the optimal location of the dryer and put pencil marks on the ceiling. To do this, take brackets with rollers, apply them to the ceiling and mark points through the mounting holes. The brackets should be parallel to each other, at the same level, and the distance between them should correspond to the length of the dryer rods.

Step 2 Holes are drilled in the ceiling, dust is blown out, dowels are hammered tightly. Next, the brackets are screwed with screws and the recesses from the fasteners are closed with special plugs included in the package.

Step 3 A bracket is attached to the wall parallel to the brackets to fix the cords. It should be located approximately at a height of 1.3-1.5 m from the floor, strictly horizontally. Fastening takes place in exactly the same way: points for fasteners are marked through the holes, they are drilled, dowels are inserted and screws are screwed in. If the wall is tiled, take a spear-shaped drill with a victorious solder, otherwise the tile may crack.

Step 4 Gently lay out the cords on a flat surface and begin to attach them in turn to each rod. To do this, a tight knot is tied at the end, the cord is placed in the groove on the rod and the knot is pulled inward with force. All other cords are fixed in the same way.

Step 5 Start assembling the dryer. Thread the cords through the holes in both brackets. If the fixing bracket is located on the right side, the assembly starts from the left bracket, and vice versa. The cord itself is not very easy to push into the hole, so for convenience, you can use a piece of wire, bending it in the form of a hook or a long loop. The free end of the cord is pulled through two fixing caps.

Step 6 The first rod is pulled up, after which the upper cap is fixed with a knot on the cord and inserted into the cutout on the bracket. Repeat the steps with the rest of the suspensions so that they are all on the same level.

Step 7 Next, I determine the lower level of the location of the rods, on which it is most convenient to hang clothes, and tie one more knot. The knots are pulled into the lower caps, and the remaining pieces of the cord are cut off. After that, the suspensions are again pulled to their original position.

Installation of the Fortuna dryer

Model "Fortune" is a structure of metal brackets with rollers, on which two movable aluminum profiles are mounted. With help simple mechanism and steel cables, the profiles are easily raised and lowered to the desired height, and independently of each other. In the profiles along the entire length there are special holes for hangers, on which it is convenient to dry clothes.

The brackets are fixed to the ceiling, while the guide roller and the control box are placed on the wall. First you need to choose the most convenient location for the dryer relative to the bath, so that the water from the laundry flows directly into it and does not form puddles on the floor. After that, you can proceed directly to the installation.

Step 1. On the ceiling with a pencil mark the attachment points of the brackets, 2 for each. They should form a rectangle with sides of 1.8-2 m and 0.4-0.6 m. On the wall, the fasteners of the control unit and the guide roller are also marked strictly along one vertical line.

Step 2 According to the marks, holes of the appropriate depth are drilled, and with the help of anchors, the brackets with rollers and the control unit are screwed.

Step 3 The end of the steel cable is carefully pulled into the holder (crab), a strong knot is tied at the end and pulled inward. The second end of the cable should be threaded into the plastic retainer and pad that came with the dryer, and then pulled through the roller located on the opposite side of the control box.

Step 4 The pad is moved close to the roller, clamped with a latch until it stops, the crab is pulled up on the cable so that it rests tightly against the latch. After that, the cable is passed with outside double roller and through the guide roller.

Step 5 On the control unit, you need to unscrew the cap so that the lock washer that is inside does not fall out. The free end of the cable is threaded through this cap, bent in the form of a loop and taken out through the same hole. Now the cable is pulled in the opposite direction, but with inside both rollers. In this case, the double roller must be turned towards the guide.

Step 6. Decorative overlays are alternately fixed under each roller, then crabs are put on and the length of the cable is adjusted so that when the crabs are at the very top, the distance between the control unit and the middle of the loop does not exceed 10 cm. After that, the free end of the cable is cut off.

Step 7 A lock washer is inserted into the middle of the loop and, holding it with your fingers, tighten the cable into the cap. Using the handle on the control unit, the cable is slightly unwound so that the cap can be screwed on.

Self-made clothes dryer

For homemade dryers, wooden slats can be used, PVC pipes, metal corners and other handy materials. There are a lot of options for such designs, from simple to the most complex, and the choice depends only on your skill and experience. For example, consider the manufacture of a dryer from the corners, which any novice master can do.

For work you will need:

  • 2 steel corners 25x25 mm and about 1 m long;
  • grover washers with a diameter of 20-30 mm;
  • drill with a set of drills;
  • level and pencil;
  • anchor bolts;
  • braided steel cable or strong linen cord.

Step 1. They take a corner and drill holes for fasteners in one shelf at a distance of 50 mm from the ends and in the middle. In another shelf, holes are drilled with a diameter of 6 mm in increments of 10 cm, retreating from the ends about 2-3 cm. The second corner is processed in the same way.

Arms for linen

Step 2 The prepared corners are well sanded and painted to give the dryer an aesthetic look. The paint must be anti-corrosion, because the dryer will constantly be in conditions high humidity.

Step 3 When the paint is dry, apply a corner to the wall to determine the most comfortable height. The horizontal is set according to the level and marks are made with a pencil through the holes in the shelf. In the same way, markings are made for the second corner on the opposite wall. All marks must be at the same level, otherwise the dryer will be skewed.

Step 4 Holes are drilled in the marked places, they are cleaned of dust, a corner is applied and fixed to the wall with anchor bolts. Then screw the second corner.

Step 5 A cord is pulled between the guides, threading it into washers and securing the ends with knots so that they do not slip out.

Secure clothes with clothespins so they don't fall.

Video - Installation of the Fortuna dryer

Washed clothes need to be dried somewhere. Owners of private houses will calmly stretch clotheslines in their area for this purpose, and residents of high-rise buildings will use loggias. But what should the happy owners of apartments on the first floors do, where there are no balconies, and it is rather dangerous to leave your belongings unattended on the street for a long time.

This is where special clothes dryers come to the rescue, which are quietly placed in bathrooms. In fact, such equipment does not hurt to have every owner, since it is inexpensive, but it allows you to cope with the above task in cases where it is impossible to use the balcony space, and it is raining outside. Next, I will introduce you to such a device in more detail.

A little about motivation

To begin with, I still want to dwell in a little more detail on the benefits derived from the use of clothes dryers in bathrooms:

  1. No need for a free balcony.

But the following situations may occur:

  • It doesn't exist at all, let alone free;

  • It is used as a pantry, and old skis will not be the best neighborhood for washed clothes. Yes, and it will be inconvenient for you to hang something there;

  • It is furnished as an office. If your computer or other electronic equipment is dear to you, then it is better to keep sources of moisture away from it;

  • Do you expect smoking guests. Where will they go to smoke? That's right, on . And people have no reason to admire your linen, which, moreover, will interfere, but the linen itself should not be saturated with tobacco smoke;
  1. Safety. Near high-rise buildings, you can also often find stretched clotheslines. But this means that, in fact, any passer-by will be able to remove the things you posted and take them to your home. This, of course, does not apply to private plots, they are guarded by a strong fence, and sometimes even an angry dog;

  1. Ability to dry even in rainy weather. This again applies to the use of street clotheslines and “hit” even the owners of their own fenced plots of land, as fences and angry dogs are unaffected by rain.

Varieties

So, what types of dryers can effectively replace loggias and outdoor clotheslines? Now I'll tell you everything:

Substitute #1: Wall Dryer

As the name implies, here we are talking about a structure that is attached to the wall and can have two interpretations:

  1. Rope. It is a rope stretched over the bathroom from one wall to another in the likeness of those that are hung on the street.

In turn, it can also be of two types:

  • Stationary- two planks connected by linen cords. The price of such products is the lowest and practically will not “hit” your family budget in any way;

  • Removable- a spring-loaded drum, on which the ropes are wound, and a retractable bar with their other ends. The first part is fixed on the wall with dowels and self-tapping screws, and the second part is hooked to pre-installed rings opposite. When the hooks are removed, the mechanism twists the cords back;

I recommend buying a roll-up model only if you really plan to use this feature. The fact is that standing on the edge of the bath in order to unfasten the hooks is not very convenient and rather time consuming. In this regard, most users simply leave the ropes in the unfolded state, thereby overpaying extra money for the presence of an unclaimed mechanism.

  1. folding. It is even easier to install such devices with your own hands than those described above. Here it is enough to attach the main panel to one of the walls above the font using the same self-tapping screws and dowels. Then a construction of metal or plastic slats, similar to an accordion, is pulled out of it, which is hung with wet linen.
    The main disadvantage of such a system is that due to the lack of an emphasis for the second edge, it will not be able to withstand significant weight, so for a large family it is better to purchase a rope or ceiling sample, which I will discuss below.

On the shelves of specialized stores you can find the following models of wall-mounted dryers:

  • Model "Gimi Brio Super 120":

  • Model "Rollquick 210 83006":

Substitute #2: Ceiling Dryer

This type of dryer in the bathroom for the bathroom fits perfectly.

It consists of:

  • Two brackets, which are fixed to the ceiling surface with dowels and self-tapping screws;
  • Multiple rods. Linen is actually hung on them;
  • Ropes lowering and raising bars. In some models, the rope system has an additional attachment to the wall.

As a result, we can talk about the following advantages of this design solution:

  • Space saving. If you do not need to dry clothes, then you simply raise the crossbars up to the ceiling;
  • . The vertical mount is able to withstand a significantly large weight;
  • Comfortableinstructionexploitation. You just need to lower one crossbar, hang it with the necessary linen, among which there may even be a large duvet cover, and then simply pull the rope, sending the wet fabric to the ceiling. The main convenience is that you do not need with my own hands reach up, all manipulations take place right in front of you;
  • Possibility of drying things that cannot be bent. You can lower all the bars to the same level, which will give you a comfortable table on which a wool sweater or other capricious thing will sit perfectly.

In general, I personally purchased and installed just such a dryer in my bathroom. But everyone is free to make their own choice.

In the process of shopping, you may come across such representatives of this equipment:

  • Model "Gimi Lift 180":

  • Model "Luminarc 1.4 m":

Substitute No. 3: battery dryer

A fairly convenient option for those bathrooms that are heated I am. Wet things will just be in close proximity to heating element which greatly speeds up the drying process.

The main disadvantage of such structures is their small area and, accordingly, their carrying capacity. So, for example, drying a sheet on a structure attached to a heating radiator will be very problematic, if not completely impossible.

Installation in this case is quite simple: the product is simply thrown with hooks on the battery, and the rest rests against it. After use, it is removed and hidden from the eyes away.

Substitute No. 4: hot tub dryer

Another ambiguous device, which is a set of tubes and resistant legs, which is placed directly on top of the bathing tank.

The advantages of such a device:

  • Saving usable space in the bathroom itself. That is, you can move around the bathroom freely;
  • Ease of operation. Here, as in the previous two cases, you don’t need to reach anywhere, all the laundry bars are right in front of you;
  • Sufficiently large capacity. In this case, there will be no problems with the duvet cover.

Minuses:

  • Large dimensions, which cause inconvenience at a time when the dryer is not in use, because it still needs to be hidden somewhere so that it does not interfere;
  • Inability to accept water procedures in the font itself during the operation of the structure.

And here's what you can find in stores:

  • Model "GIMI Alablock":

  • Model "GIMI Varadero":

Substitute #5: floor dryer

In fact, this is a folding table, which during operation can be placed not only in the bathroom, but in general in any room of your house or apartment. None installation work its use is not foreseen.

In the process of finding a suitable instance, you may come across such options:

  • Model "Gimi DUPLO":

  • Leifheit Roma model:

Conclusion

No balcony and is it dangerous to hang out washed clothes on the street? There is a way out: get one of the types of dryers installed in bathrooms, and then your clothes will dry without disturbing anyone, and at the same time they will be completely safe, being under your watchful eye. Moreover, there are a lot of types of such structures to choose the most suitable one for yourself.

The video in this article will provide you with additional information for your reference. If, suddenly, there are any questions on the topic, then ask them in the comments.

In order for the process of drying clothes to bring a minimum of inconvenience, and randomly hung shirts and pillowcases not to spoil the interior, you need comfortable and beautiful clothes dryers in the bathroom. Do right choice and not to return to it in the next few years will help useful advice and tips.

The range of devices for drying clothes is more than wide. First of all, the variety of forms catches the eye, among which there are miniature models for drying small things over the bath, and spacious folding structures that can place the contents of a huge closet on their crossbars. In order not to make a mistake in choosing, you will have to soberly assess the size of your own bathroom and finally decide where the dryer will be located: on the floor, on the wall or on the ceiling.

Floor dryers

Floor folding structures are convenient because they do not take up much space and are not in front of your eyes at a time when there is nothing to dry - the "clamshell" folds compactly and can be stored in a pantry or in a corner. This form is ideal for those who wash 1-2 times a week and have enough space to use the unfolded bulky design without prejudice to visiting the bathroom.

Folding design is suitable for a spacious room

Vertical models are more compact and can fit in a free corner of the bathroom without compromising the interior and convenience. But such a modification is more suitable for those who wash exclusively with an automatic machine and use the spin cycle - if poorly wrung out laundry is placed on the upper floors, drops will fall on the lower shelves, leaving ugly smudges and increasing the drying time.

Vertical models are more compact

Wall dryers

A compact wall-mounted clothes dryer in the bathroom cannot boast of a large capacity, but it does not require additional space and quickly comes into working condition. Such devices are ideal for those who do not like to accumulate a lot of things, but prefer to wash in small batches.

Wall mounts take up little space

Ceiling dryers

Ceiling fixtures are a modern alternative to grandma's ropes. They can be foldable and fixed. If you hang the structure directly above the bathtub, then you can safely hang things on it from which water drips. The most significant drawback of ceiling models is that they limit the ability to use the bathroom while drying things.

For the ceiling, there are a lot of modifications of dryers

How to choose a durable bathroom dryer

Having decided on the form, you should carefully look at the quality of the product and, first of all, at the materials from which the dryer is made. It is important not to forget about the high humidity in the bathroom and the frequent contact of elements with wet things - all parts and fasteners must be resistant to corrosion. The most durable and practical material is stainless steel. It makes sense to choose aluminum only if the fixture will be used only for light laundry.

Convenient and popular "Liana"

Sometimes, instead of stainless steel, manufacturers use ordinary steel, protecting it from moisture with enamel or powder dyes. Unfortunately, the enamel is short-lived and quickly covered with cracks. A high-quality powder coating is more reliable and is not afraid of moisture, but it must be flawlessly applied to all parts of the product.

In inexpensive wall-mounted dryers and in compact models designed to be placed on the bathtub or on the door, plastic is often found. Of course, you can buy such an economical option, but you should not count on many years of service.

The distance between the strings or crossbars must be at least 6 cm

In order not to make a mistake in choosing a bathroom dryer, it is recommended to take a tape measure with you to the store. Firstly, it will help to determine the dimensions with an accuracy of up to a centimeter, and secondly, it can be used to measure the distance between the crossbars or ropes. Ideally, it should be at least 6 cm - otherwise things will take longer to dry, and accidental contact can lead to stains on light fabrics.

Electrical Appliances for Quick Drying Laundry

For those who like fast results, there are electric dryers. These devices help out both in winter and in summer. In order to dry small items, 40-50 minutes are enough, and such large items as duvet covers and rugs dry in 2-4 hours.

When choosing an electric assistant, it is important to pay attention to its power - it is desirable that this parameter be at least 70 W, then the device can easily cope with bulky jackets, pillows and thick winter sweaters. In order to entrust the dryer with not only coarse, but also thin fabrics, it is recommended to give preference to models with several temperature regimes.

Standard floor system

For admirers of traditional solutions, folding floor models are produced that resemble the usual folding dryers in shape. For small rooms, there are compact wall-mounted structures that can be used not only for their intended purpose, but also for heating the bathroom.

For delicate fabrics and instant results, we came up with a system in which clothes get rid of excess moisture through hot air circulation. Such models have a frame and a cover, inside of which the process of rapid drying takes place.

There are many devices for drying clothes. Functional and compact dryers can be installed anywhere, but most often a clothes dryer and a towel rack are installed in the bathroom. After all, here the hung laundry is not in sight, but ventilation system promotes faster drying. Even for a small room, there is an option for a bathroom dryer - a wall-mounted model.

The wall-mounted dryer does not take up much space, as it is installed on the wall, and the foldable model is almost invisible when assembled, and drying of small items of clothing can even take place on the assembled equipment. In this article, we will consider the types of wall-mounted dryers, analyze their pros and cons, describe the features of their choice, placement and installation, and also tell you how to assemble a wall-mounted clothes dryer in the bathroom with your own hands.

The range of modern mechanisms for drying clothes is very diverse. First of all, a wide selection of shapes and types of structures catches the eye, among which there are miniature models for hanging trifles over the bathroom, and capacious folding structures on which you can place all the linen from washing machine, not to mention the usual water heated towel rails.

There are several types of wall-mounted dryers on the market, which differ in the method of installation and type of construction:

Folding dryer in the bathroom- it modern version rope hanger, on which our grandmothers dried clothes for many decades. This design consists of two plastic panels that are mounted on opposite walls under the ceiling, and 4-6 ropes are stretched between them. If the ropes interfere, then one panel is removed and attached to another, and the ropes, like the cord of a modern vacuum cleaner, are automatically drawn in.

Advantages:

  • ease of installation and operation;
  • low cost;
  • possibility of installation in small rooms.

Flaws:

  • maximum total weight of linen - 7 kg;
  • for models without a pull-up mechanism, the ropes sag under the weight of the laundry;
  • low-quality plastic cracks over time.

Sliding dryer for the bathroom has a more intricate design. It is a metal console that moves and moves forward according to the principle of an accordion. Parts of the sliding structure are attached to the wall with reliable rivets. Linen is hung on metal tubes located between two folding elements. After the wash is dry, the device is pressed against the wall so as not to steal space.

Advantages:

  • compact design;
  • ease of use;
  • strength of parts;
  • the ability to withstand heavy weight;
  • Possibility of use as a holder for towels.

Flaws:

  • small dimensions of the sliding model;
  • the difficulty of drying large items;
  • budget fasteners can break during operation.

Electric hanger for the bathroom, as a rule, it is used as a heated towel rail, but if you are in a hurry, then it can also be used to dry small clothes. The principle of operation of an electric dryer is similar to a fireplace heater, and is a series of metal tubes connected to each other. The design is mounted on the wall next to the outlet. This device dries the wash much faster, but is not suitable for all types of materials.

Advantages:

  • ease of installation and dismantling;
  • the ability to disconnect from the network when not in use;
  • comfortable heating temperature of the tubes will protect against burns;
  • can be used as a heater.

Flaws:

  • the need to comply with safety rules when using electrical appliances in a room with high humidity;
  • small sizes are not suitable for drying bed linen and other large items.

Wall-ceiling clothes dryers in the bathroom can be attached in two ways - on opposite walls and on the ceiling. The holders are metal tubes through which 4-10 ropes are threaded. Another special rope allows you to raise and lower the holders like a blind. The main advantage is the ability to hang clothes with a total weight of up to 20 kg.

Rod dryer- this design is similar to the ceiling, but is fixed only on one of the walls. If necessary, the bars can be easily raised or lowered down to the required level. Ideal for drying woolen garments and other garments that you do not want to hang up to avoid stretching. The wool sweater is placed on the rods, which allows you to dry the clothes without hanging them.

There are also models of dryers with original design:

  • over-door - such designs are installed directly on the door in the bathroom. Hooks act as fasteners, so if necessary, the dryer can be easily removed from the door;
  • folding - easily mounted on any vertical surface. If the structures are not used for their intended purpose, then it rises and plays the role of a panel, and if necessary, it is thrown back and small linen and towels are dried on it;
  • battery - the device is fixed on the battery with several hooks and is used to dry small clothes.

Even in a small bathroom, you can attach this wall structure, which simulates a window. The color scheme is easy to transform under the overall interior design of the room:

How to choose a quality dryer?

The bathroom products market is updated regularly the lineup clothes dryer. They perform the same function, but the installation methods and production materials are changing.

The choice of design depends on how often you do laundry. If you wash your clothes often but in small batches, then it is better to choose a small console or a battery dryer. If the clothes are washed rarely, but in a large batch, then it is better to make a choice in favor of a folding or wall-ceiling model.

When choosing a design, you should also build on the dimensions of the room. The wall-mounted clothes dryer is suitable for a small bathroom. In order not to be mistaken with the sizes, when you go to the store, take a tape measure with you. It will help not only accurately measure the dimensions of the device, but also the distance between the ropes or crossbars, which should be at least 6-7 cm, otherwise it will be inconvenient to hang the wash, and it will take longer to dry.

In addition to the type of construction and its dimensions, when choosing a clothes dryer, you also need to pay attention to what material it is made of. There is high humidity in the bathroom, and the elements of the device are constantly in contact with wet clothes, so all fasteners and parts must be rust-resistant.

  1. From this point of view, the most durable designs will be stainless steel dryers. This material easily withstands heavy loads, does not oxidize and does not corrode when interacting with moisture, has an attractive appearance.
  2. Metal dryers made of steel coated with powder dyes or enamel are also very durable, but the special coating cracks over time, and then the steel quickly becomes covered with plaque and rust due to high humidity.
  3. Aluminum structures are considered budget options for steel fixtures. They are strong enough and weigh little, but do not differ in durability, while they are intended only for drying light laundry in small batches.
  4. Plastic models for compact placement on a wall or door, despite their low strength, are in demand because they are characterized by low cost, simple design, light weight and a wide range of colors.

Another important parameter when choosing a quality clothes dryer is fittings. Loops and fastenings must be of high quality and reliable, and the strings of rope models must be smooth and durable. Choose models that include dowels and screws so that you don’t have to buy them in addition and select them for threaded holes.

Thus, when choosing a mechanism for drying clothes, be guided by the following parameters:

  • construction type;
  • room dimensions;
  • material of manufacture;
  • quality of fittings;
  • Availability additional features(descent-rise, length and height adjustment);
  • maximum weight that the device can support.

The right clothes dryer will be an excellent addition to the interior of the bathroom and will serve as a good helper in the household.

Principles of placement and installation rules

When planning the installation of a wall-mounted clothes dryer in the bathroom, it is necessary to take into account some of the nuances.

In order not to test the strength of fasteners and interior partitions, to place the device, select bearing wall. Then you will be sure that under the weight of wet things, the fasteners will not fall out along with the decoration and plaster of the wall.

It is also worth considering that while drying things, you will need a free approach to the bath, cabinets and plumbing. Therefore, place the mechanism so that it does not hinder your access to the essentials.

Try to place the device closer to the ventilation system, then the clothes will dry faster and the moisture will evaporate in time. Keep an eye on vent hole by cleaning it from time to time. It is good if the bathroom has a heating battery.

We also note that the dryer should not be installed next to a mirror or plumbing fixtures and chrome parts to prevent unwanted ingress of water on them.

Installation of a wall-mounted dryer should begin with choosing the most suitable location. Then follow the installation instructions for this model:

  1. Using the bracket to fix the structure, make marks for future fasteners through the through holes.
  2. According to the marks on the wall, drill holes for fasteners in it.
  3. Then, using fasteners, fix the brackets on the wall.
  4. After that, fasten the remaining parts of the dryer to the brackets, following the instructions in the assembly manual.

The device is ready for use!

How to make a clothes dryer with your own hands?

We know two ways how to independently make a device for drying clothes in the bathroom:

Method 1: rope dryer

The simplest variation of a do-it-yourself dryer is hooks and ropes located above the bathtub. Initially, it is recommended to go to a hardware store and purchase the materials we need (instead of hooks, you can use a beautiful wire or thick fishing line as an option). After all the materials we need have been purchased, proceed to marking the places where the dryer will be attached.

Mark the places where the hooks will be located: their location should be on the same line at an equal distance from each other. In the marked places, drill holes of the desired diameter, in which securely fix the hooks. From the rope, cut the required number of pieces of the desired length and pull between the hooks. And this is how we assemble the simplest dryer.

Method 2: overhead dryer

For more complex design it will take more time, as well as a tool for wood. The dryer will be made from wooden slats with a cross section of 2 cm. Getting started, file the constituent elements of the device: you will need two bars equal to the length of the bathroom and 6-8 bars, the length of which should be equal to the width of the bathroom. The resulting bars need to be sanded.

Place elements equal to the length of the bathtub at a distance slightly less than the width of the bathtub itself and nail short bars to them. Short elements will serve as holders for linen. The distance between them must be the same so that the structure itself also has an aesthetic appearance, and not only is it reliable. Ready product can be covered with a colorless varnish or painted in a color that is in harmony with the interior of your bathroom.
