Installation of the air conditioner advice of installers. Do-it-yourself installation of an air conditioner: from choosing an installation site to the first start

installing an air conditioner with your own handsClimatic equipment is installed in advance, before the onset of heat. In some cases, to save money, an air conditioner is installed by hand. The main condition is to strictly adhere to the instructions, to carry out work in the recommended place. Incorrectly selected parts can cause damage to the climate control device.

The principle of operation of the air conditioner, split system

For the formation general idea about the organization of the internal structure, and before installing the air conditioner, we recommend that you consider the principle of operation of the system. Climatic consists of 2 equivalent blocks - compressor and evaporator. They are connected to each other by special adapters, branch pipes and tubes.

The evaporation unit is installed inside the dwelling, and the compressor unit is installed outside. High-performance and expensive models are equipped with one compressor and several indoor units.

High pressure refrigerant is sent to the evaporator section. Then there is an expansion of freon, its gradual boiling and vaporization. It is this cold vapor that absorbs the heat of the air. The air conditioning system works with the active formation of water condensate, which settles on a special radiator. At the final stage, water is discharged from the building through a special tube.

In the process of operation, the compressor pumps out the evaporation of freon. The pressure inside the unit is increased by a built-in pump. Gradually, under the influence of temperature, the refrigerant changes from a liquid state to a vapor state. A dense "fog" is sent to the condensate chamber for gradual cooling (a small fan is used for this purpose) and transition to a liquid state. Then the circle closes and the process loops.

The efficiency and duration of the operation of the house, as well as the amount of electricity consumed by the appliance, are determined by the intensity of operation of the unit, the climatic features of the region. If there is a heater in the room near the climate control device, the level of electricity consumed increases, which is fraught with the failure of the device. Even ordinary dust can provoke a breakdown. The room is scheduled for regular wet cleaning.

Couplings and joints require sealing in without fail in order to level the likelihood of evaporation of freon or other refrigerant. Install the outdoor unit of the air conditioner so that it is level below the inside of the unit. The outdoor unit is located in a dark place, away from sunlight.

Do-it-yourself air conditioning installation: tools - a complete list

Installation of air conditioning systems is a technically complex, responsible, and therefore expensive event. All aspects are important in this matter - experience, practical skills, theoretical base and availability necessary tool. These factors determine the speed and quality of installation. Let's analyze the feasibility of using the tools that come with the standard installation kit.

Taking into account the scope of their application, they are divided into several functional groups.

power tool

Without a power tool, installing an air conditioner with your own hands is simply impossible. We are not talking about any specialized solutions:

  • perforator;
  • "Bulgarian";
  • drill.

The puncher is chosen powerful so that it can do it without problems through hole in the wall through which the line is laid between the indoor and outdoor units. Low-power combined electric drills, where only the function of a hammer drill is provided, are indispensable in this case. They are not able to drill through brickwork.

Before you install the air conditioner yourself, you should make sure that you have all the necessary tools.

For concrete wall in addition, you will need a grinder to remove metal fittings, as well as other consumables - discs, drills, concrete bits.

Measuring tool

Installation window air conditioner carried out with the obligatory control of the horizontal level. You can use markers, marking pencils, building or laser level. You will also need a number of additional equipment. Air conditioners with installation cannot be reliably and efficiently fixed without additional technical means.

Specialized equipment

Specialized tools are necessary for the high-quality and efficient functioning of climate equipment. Tools for soldering copper pipes, vacuum cleaner industrial type and vacuum pump.

  1. Devices for connecting copper pipes. We are talking about low temperature welding. It is carried out using a special solder and gas burner. A pipe cutter is used to cut them. It is better to refuse an ordinary hacksaw for cutting metal, since small chips will certainly remain in the line, which is fraught with damage to the climate device. To remove the chamfer, use a rimmer, rolling. The main turns are formed by a pipe bender.
  2. An industrial vacuum cleaner is used to suck up dust and small debris. Under no circumstances should they fall into the appliance.
  3. Vacuum pump. The unit dries up the line. If you follow the installation rules, then this procedure is mandatory, without it the efficiency of the air conditioner will be nominal.

The listed equipment for installation is basic. Can't do without additional Supplies- pliers, drywall, stepladders, metal shears, screwdrivers. The exact list is determined by the owner, taking into account specific conditions.

Do-it-yourself air conditioner installation: step by step instructions

Do-it-yourself installation of an air conditioner begins only after purchase and preparation necessary equipment, tools and climatic equipment. First of all, they are fixed on the outer wall outdoor unit followed by internal work.

At all stages, it is extremely important to observe safety precautions, especially when it comes to skyscrapers. Installation of the outdoor unit is one of the most important and crucial stages.

Outdoor unit fixing

Installation of a window in general, and its outer part, in particular, on the walls country houses is not accompanied by any difficulties. But in the case of multi-apartment buildings, not everything is so simple, the place is selected with great care. When deciding where to install the air conditioner, pay attention to areas with minimal natural light.

There are several basic rules:

  1. The outdoor unit should not spoil the view from the window to the neighbors in the apartment.
  2. A small tube is used to drain condensate.
  3. The climatic device is placed in such a way that it is within reach, because. equipment requires periodic maintenance.

In 90% of cases, the block is fixed at the north or east side, under the window or at the bottom of the balcony. These are the unwritten rules for installing an air conditioner, which are mandatory among professionals. If they are observed, it will not be difficult to reach the outside of the climate control device.

  • The attachment points of the brackets are checked with a building level, and then holes are prepared in the wall. Anchor bolts are used for secure fixation.
  • To connect the functional blocks, an 80 mm through hole is made. If possible, it is better to drill a hole between the bricks, along the seam.

According to the previously prepared markings, metal brackets are installed, screwing the bolts as securely as possible. Standard mounting air conditioner is carried out in such a way that between the climate unit and outer wall a distance of 10 cm was maintained. The gaps are closed at the final stage, after connecting the device.

Installing the indoor unit

Do-it-yourself air conditioning installation indoors, where to start? First of all, it is necessary to pay attention to the fact that indoor unit it is strictly forbidden to mount behind curtains, near electrical appliances, above heaters or batteries - all these devices often cause failure of the block processor.

Before installing the air conditioner, you should carefully check the wall for laying heating, water pipes, electrical wiring.

The fastening of a metal plate from standard components for the installation of air conditioners begins only if the work area is completely free: the distance from the ceiling is from 10 cm, from the corner of the walls - at least 5 cm. Two points are connected with a meter and mark a horizontal line. The indoor unit is mounted on a fixed metal plate.

The next step in the installation of the air conditioner, or to be more precise, its indoor unit, is the preparation of holes in the wall for connecting communication hoses, electrical wiring, and pipes for draining liquid condensate. interior space should be enough to freely accommodate all the elements in the wall.

Self-installation of the air conditioner is impossible without separate wiring for indoor unit. For this, wiring with a cross section of at least 1.5 square meters is suitable. mm. It is mandatory to connect a separate machine for the climate control device. Upon completion of the wiring, it is connected to the input of the shield (the indicator can accurately determine the "phase" and "neutral" wire).

The terminals of the outdoor and indoor units are connected to each other with multi-core wiring (it is pushed into the hole prepared in the wall). The installation scheme is clearly described in the instructions that come with each climate control device. When installing air conditioners on your own at home, it is extremely important that the terminals by name match the wires themselves. Otherwise, there is a danger of a short circuit.

Pipe laying instructions

A standard air conditioner installation kit includes several copper pipes. They are carefully cut with a margin of 1 meter for bends. The tubes are prepared with a special tool - a pipe bender, when using it, the metal does not crack, no dents form. Proper preparation includes the coating of pipes with polyurethane foam hoses, which act as thermal insulation.

Special threaded flanges are put on the ends of the tube. The next stage of installation work is high-quality flaring of copper tubes. This process is carried out extremely carefully in order to eliminate the risk of grooves and microcracks. The nut should fit onto the rolling without any problems. As for tightening, it is performed with a special torque wrench.

Do-it-yourself installation of the air conditioner continues: pipelines are attached to the fittings. It is impossible to confuse anything, because. copper pipes have different cross-sections and diameters. The flanges are securely screwed onto the fittings, while the connection must be extremely tight, but at the same time, the tube should not be pinched or damaged.

At the final stage, the installation of air conditioning systems comes down to connecting a plastic pipe to a reinforced housing. For reliable fastening, use a heat-shrinkable tube from the delivery set. It is better to put a drainage tube at a maximum distance from the base of the wall.

Installation and installation of air conditioners will be incomplete without placing pipes in a special hole made in the wall. There they are carefully and extremely accurately aligned. Outside, the outlet and underwater pipes are fixed with clamps for greater reliability. An electrical wire is placed near them for connection to the outdoor unit.

Holes are blown indoors mounting foam, as an alternative - filled with liquid silicone. Installing an air conditioner on a balcony and in a house involves checking the structure for leaks with a soap solution or a bicycle pump. Soap solution is washed with a sponge or cloth. If defects are found, the thread is tightened tighter.

Vacuuming the air exchange system

The correct installation of the air conditioner with your own hands is described above. The owner should be aware that to remove moisture, dust and the smallest particles from the climate device, the system is evacuated. It is performed upon completion of the final and high-quality sealing of the joints, because it is impossible to get rid of the air completely. The air conditioner with the installation is connected to a vacuum pump, air pumping takes about 1 hour.

Freon or other refrigerant is pumped into the system. The tank on the balcony is filled with a pressure gauge or adapter connected, since it is necessary to strictly control the pressure in the system. After preparing the air conditioner, a special automatic disconnector turns on independently, and the system goes into test mode. With uniform and efficient air circulation, the hole in the wall is sealed with mounting foam, followed by decor.

Installation of industrial air conditioners is carried out exclusively by professionals, because these are expensive climatic complexes for the adjustment of which specialized equipment is required. Spare parts are included in the standard package, you do not have to buy anything in addition.

Now you know how to install the air conditioner yourself and in what sequence to perform the corresponding work.

Installing an air conditioner with your own hands: the secrets of professionals

The scheme of installation of window air conditioners provides for the possibility of installation in winter period. That's just have to be content with not too comfortable conditions. Water or snow must not get into the line. It is better to install and pump the refrigerant at positive temperatures outside the window (at sub-zero temperatures, the stuffing box often fails, since it is rubber).

To install air conditioners, it is not at all necessary to evacuate the system. The nut is not completely screwed to the copper tube, then the control valve located at the thick tube opens slightly. Under pressure, the air will be forced out by freon, and it will be necessary to quickly tighten the nut.

This method is incorrect, since the quality and sealing of the system cannot be verified. Installation of industrial air conditioners using this technology is not carried out.

Below is detailed video instructions, which demonstrate the main stages of installing climate systems with your own hands.

So, the air conditioner is bought and delivered. Now it needs to be installed and connected. Experts know that installation determines the quality and service life of a new air conditioner by 90 percent. For all its external compactness and simplicity, an air conditioner is a rather complicated device, only a reputable company with expensive professional equipment can competently and reliably mount an air conditioner.

Professional installation of air conditioners

When installing an air conditioner, first of all, its real dimensions are determined, which are not limited to the dimensions of the installation itself. Also evaluate the strength of the support on which the equipment is mounted, especially mounted with outside building or on the roof.

After determining the installation site of the air conditioner, the noise level produced during the operation of the installation is calculated. It should not further interfere with those who are in the room. With rare exceptions, the units are mounted on a foundation, which means that there is a problem of vibration. Powerful compressors and fans must be placed on special anti-vibration supports, which protects the building and the refrigeration unit itself from premature destruction.

The quality of the installation of pipelines greatly affects the performance and trouble-free operation of refrigeration units. General rule during their installation - reducing to a minimum the length and number of bends of pipelines between external and internal blocks. Inside the route of the cable and copper tubes there must be a complete vacuum, for which a complex procedure for pumping out air, called evacuation, is carried out.

If the process is not approached in good faith, then a refrigerant leak is possible. This leads to the combustion of the compressor, the price of which is 60-70 percent of the total cost of the air conditioner. Air conditioners, especially household ones, are outwardly similar, but each of them, with the same basic principles and approaches, has its own installation features. This is known and taken into account by the installers.

Installation of air-cooled air conditioners with axial fans. Compressor-condenser units, chillers (complete refrigerating machine designed to cool liquid), rooftop air conditioners are mounted from the outside of the premises. When installing two or more such installations, the guaranteed clearances specified in the manufacturer's instructions must be observed.

The condensers should be cooled with atmospheric air free of corrosive substances. Therefore, they are installed so that hot air does not enter them from the windward side of the pipes of fireplaces or boiler rooms. The presence of trees near the installation site is also undesirable, as the heat exchanger may become clogged with leaves, which will reduce the efficiency of the units. Direct exposure to sunlight also leads to a deterioration in the performance of the capacitor.

When installing on terraces, when it is not completely clear where the rain flows will go, air conditioners are installed on a special foundation, and the water itself is sent to the outlets. For mounting rooftop air conditioners in addition to all of the above, a waterproof support panel with a frame is created, the air conditioner itself is strengthened on the frame, and pipes for air inlet and outlet are brought from below.

Installation of air conditioners with air cooling and centrifugal fans. Such air conditioners are installed inside the building - in attics, in basements, in utility rooms. Air for cooling the condenser is taken, as a rule, from the street through an air duct system. In such cases, it is necessary to ensure an unhindered supply of air from the street to the room and the removal of warm air, install intake and exhaust ventilation grilles.

They are connected to circulating water supply systems, a special water control valve is installed that changes the water flow depending on the required refrigeration capacity. Provision is made for draining water in case the system is shut down during winter time. The water used to cool the condenser must be free of contaminants, so mechanical filtration is used. Filters protect circulation pumps in the system from various deposits on the surfaces of the heat exchanger, clogging and corrosion of materials.

Split - this means "separate", this is the division of the air conditioner into two parts, sometimes installed at a decent distance from each other. One part with the compressor is fixed outside the room. There it makes less noise and better discharges heat from the rooms to the street. The second block, internal, filters the air from the room through filters, cools or heats it.

The outdoor unit is mounted on a sufficiently strong wall in a place convenient for subsequent maintenance. It is fixed on the finished mounting bracket with special bolts. The indoor unit of split systems must be installed taking into account the functional requirements and design of the room.

It should not be placed near sources of heat and humidity, near the doorway, there should be no obstacles for the air blown out, a reliable condensate drain should be arranged. The installation location of the unit is chosen in such a way that there is no direct supply of cooled air to people. The distance from the indoor unit to the walls, ceiling and floor should not be less than certain values. Fastening is carried out using a mounting plate and brackets, which are fixed to the wall with screws strictly according to the level.

Fankoil is the unit installed in the room and including the heat exchanger the fan, the filter, the control panel. Fancoils, as a rule, are installed in groups, distributing them over floors or rooms. The task of a specialist when setting up a hydraulic system is to ensure the required distribution of fluid across all fan coil units using special balancing valves. The minimum time required to install the air conditioner is 4 hours.

If someone undertakes to do it faster, it will only be to the detriment of quality. Usually the warranty for the system is 1-2 years, if you are promised a longer period, then most likely you are dealing with a company that will cease to exist even before the system fails.

Finding good installers is much more difficult than finding manufacturers. Contact firms that have already proven themselves in the market and value their own reputation. Professionals prefer quality parts, well-established service department, direct contacts with manufacturers. good firm has an appropriate license for the installation and maintenance of air conditioners, one-day firms do not have such documents.

Last winter in Moscow, one citizen who loved to wander along the snow-covered streets of the capital was almost killed by the outdoor unit of the air conditioner that literally fell down like snow on her head. In the course of a hot pursuit investigation, it turned out that the outdoor unit of an air conditioner installed in one of the offices was simply torn off the wall by a gust of wind. It turned out that the owners wanted to save a little on the installation of the air conditioner and neglected the services of qualified installers. They hired "masters" from the outside. Nothing good came of this venture.

Don't trust crooks. Air conditioning is a delicate thing. He loves when he is shown increased attention and surrounded by care. Especially during installation. The reputation of the company in which the climatic equipment is purchased, and the high qualification of employees performing installation work, - a guarantee of reliable operation of equipment for a long time. By the way, practice shows that more than 80% of all defects found in air conditioning systems in recent years are the result of unskilled installation of air conditioners.

Interrogation with predilection.

It is better to take care of the installation site of the air conditioner in advance. The necessary advice can be obtained from the design manager. He must inspect the room that is planned to be air-conditioned. It is better to immediately clarify with him all the nuances of installation, to express the existing wishes. It would be useful to ask you to provide you with a complete list of the proposed work in writing, to find out how much time it will take to complete them. Find out how and by whom warranty service installed equipment.

Directly during the installation of climate control equipment, do not interfere with the specialists, give them the opportunity to do their job carefully and accurately. Remember that the life of the air conditioner largely depends on its quality. When accepting work, ask the installers to introduce you to the basic techniques of working with the air conditioner.

Shall we go to the authorities?

Very often, customers who want to install an overly powerful air conditioner in an apartment (or several conventional units at once) forget that the home electrical network can simply pull them. The consequences of such a rash step are going through the authorities.

When beauty is not power

Many owners of air conditioners, for obvious reasons, want to remove external units as far as possible from the window. At the same time, they forget that the equipment needs after-sales service. And for this, the valves of the external units must be within reach.

On the roof of my house.

When installing outdoor units on the walls of rooms made of "sandwich" type panels (tin, fittings and thermal insulation), as well as on the roofs of buildings with metal roofing(corrugated sheet, metal tile), strong vibration and increased noise of the outdoor unit are possible. Therefore, special measures must be taken. For example, plan a separate foundation with special stands and vibration isolators.

Think ceiling.

When installing cassette and duct air conditioners it is necessary to strictly regulate the distance from the suspended to the conventional ceiling. Often, builders significantly reduce it, thereby complicating or making installation impossible or worsening air exchange (duct), as the geometry of the air ducts is violated. Therefore, first of all, consult with experts. They will help you choose the right model of air conditioner, choose a place for its optimal placement, and lay the cable and pipes in advance.

Everyone knows how much dust there is in our rooms, what a harmful "air cocktail" is obtained in combination with the heat. However, there is an opportunity to qualitatively change it. To do this, you need to buy an air conditioner.

They are so different...

People on a tight budget will be attracted to an affordable window air conditioner. For those who rent housing, a mobile air conditioner is suitable - it does not need to be installed and, if necessary, will move to a new place of residence after the owner. But for cooling and air purification in a large apartment, "mobile phones" and "windows" are not suitable. Better to fork out for a split system. It is compact, efficient, practical, gives great freedom in choosing the type and location of the indoor unit. Owners of multi-room apartments can be advised to install a multi-split system. Its only outdoor unit serves several indoor units at once. Curiosity is not a vice What you should ask the seller when buying an air conditioner in order to get the maximum useful information? First you need to make sure the experience of the company in the market and highly qualified her staff. Ask what services you can offer.

Find out if you have the appropriate licenses and certifications. Find out how much time and money it may take to complete the entire range of work, including installation of equipment. If the company inspires confidence and the information received is satisfactory, ask the consultant to help you calculate the required cooling capacity and choose the right air conditioner for you.

Measure seven times...

At the same time, the specialist must inspect and measure your premises and only after that offer one or another model, giving specifications each. Specify in what place it is best to install the climatic equipment, whether there is a possibility of flow and exhaust ventilation, presence and type of heating. Take an interest in the possibilities of air filtration and purification, special operating modes, additional functions.

Get rid of drafts.

You should turn on the auto-oscillation function of the horizontal blinds, turning the draft into a light breeze, or fix the horizontal shutters in a better position. Did not help? Try turning the airflow to the left or right with the vertical air flaps. In most air conditioners, this operation is done manually, but in some models it can be done using the remote control.

SOS! Water is dripping from the indoor unit!

Most likely the drain line is clogged. Most often, this situation occurs when an air conditioner with a drainage pipeline brought outside is turned on for cooling at sub-zero temperatures. In this case, the condensate may freeze, forming an ice plug. In order to avoid this, it is necessary to heat the drainage pipeline to +5 degrees using a special cable. If an ice plug nevertheless arose, then it is worth waiting for a thaw, and until that moment do not turn on the system for cooling.

Reduced airflow - Try cleaning air filter. This can be done with a vacuum cleaner or by washing it with a soft sponge in warm water. It is not recommended to operate the air conditioner without a filter, as it protects not only your lungs, but also the heat exchanger of the indoor unit. When the latter is contaminated, the efficiency of the air conditioner decreases.

Install split system two-room apartment or a small office - no problem. But to create comfort in a large building (for example, in a 3-story mansion), you have to break your head. The main thing is not to lose it completely, when suggestions are pouring in from experts on how to do it more profitably and efficiently.

Installing an air conditioner with your own hands - for most people, this is akin to launching a rocket into space or the wonders of genetic engineering. But there is a certain contingent, popularly referred to as home craftsmen, who try to do everything in life on their own, someone for reasons of cost savings, and someone for the sake of curiosity.

We strongly support a person's desire to learn everything new, and even more so when it is possible to save money, but in order to independently install a split system, knowledge and experience are required, as well as specialized equipment for installing air conditioners. You can not buy it, but rent it, but where to get experience or rent knowledge. To all those who undertake to install an air conditioner in their own home with their own hands, we will tell you how to do it.

Equipment and tools

Before thinking about purchasing a tool for installing an air conditioner, it would be very good to study the device and design features split system of your choice. Maybe after that you will think about the complexity of its device and contact a specialized company for the installation of climate equipment. If the study of the insides of a split system did not scare you, and you still intend to mount it on their own, then first prepare a specialized tool:

  • Manometric manifold.
  • Vacuum pump.
  • Roller set.

If you managed to get this equipment and learn how to use it, then now it’s worth thinking about and calculating how much it cost you and how long it took to learn, therefore, isn’t the price of the issue high? If it’s just right, then you need to prepare the rest of the tool for installing the air conditioner: a large hammer drill and an impact drill, a 45-55 mm drill or a concrete crown of the same diameter, a set of open-end and box wrenches, pliers, a straight and curly screwdriver, pipe benders, scrapers etc. You will need a mount for the outdoor unit of the air conditioner, 6 anchors to install it on outer wall, right amount, plastic box for laying pipes, electric cable with a cross section of at least 1.5 mm2, insulation for copper pipes, foam pipe, vinyl tape, dowel plugs, self-tapping screws. After the copper tube, cable and other consumables are purchased, calculate how much it cost you, add the cost of renting specialized equipment and think how much you saved if, on average, experts charge 3,000-4,000 rubles for installing an air conditioner? And you haven't started doing the work yet.

Site selection and self-assembly

Before proceeding with the installation of the air conditioner with your own hands, you need to accurately determine the installation site, both the external unit and its internal part.
The indoor unit should be installed with a distance of 10-20 cm from the ceiling, and at least 5 cm from the wall to the unit. Inner part split systems should be located so that there is a distance of at least 3 m from the unit to nearby pieces of furniture. This contributes to the free circulation of air flows throughout the room and its uniform cooling. It will also be a plus for the uniform distribution of air masses. The indoor unit is best mounted on empty wall, thus, it will have the necessary access for its periodic maintenance. Outdoor unit at self-assembly must be installed on a balcony or under a window. With this installation, you will always have easy access to it. It should be attached slightly lower in relation to the indoor unit, this contributes to its correct work. For its installation, it is used, which is attached with anchors to the wall.

Important! High-quality installation of the external unit of the air conditioner will help to avoid its strong vibration and, as a result, increased noise during operation.

Independent installation of a split system

  1. Markup. Using a level, mark the mounting of the indoor unit of the split system. To do this, attach the bracket for mounting the air conditioner to the wall and mark the mounting holes on it.

Important! The indoor unit of the split system must be placed on the wall strictly horizontally, otherwise this may lead to improper outflow of condensate and its flow through the slots in the device case.

  2. Drilling holes according to the marks, then insert the dowel plugs and attach the bracket to the wall with self-tapping screws. After installing it, check the correct installation using the building level.
  3. Marking the hole on the wall where the freon line is supposed to be laid. An important factor for correct installation is the distance of the route from the indoor unit, which should be 1m.
  4. With the help of a perforator in the intended place, it is necessary to drill a wall with a diameter of 45-50 mm, with a slope of 10-15 ° towards the external unit of the air conditioner. This is necessary for the correct outflow of condensate.

Important! When drilling, do not forget about the possible presence of electrical wiring in the wall. Perform work, adhering to all safety regulations.

  5. Following the connection diagram, attach a five-core electrical cable to the indoor unit of the device.
  6. Put nuts on copper pipes. To do this, use two wrenches. After that, the tubes are flared using a flaring kit, after which they are attached to the internal module of the split system.

Important! Do not use grinders and hacksaws for cutting copper pipes of the freon line. This can lead to clogging of the pipes and a deterioration in the quality of the air conditioning equipment.

  7. Drain must be connected pvc tube, 16 mm in diameter to the hose of the indoor unit.

  8. The outdoor unit of the split system is installed on the prepared bracket and securely fixed with bolts to prevent vibration and displacement.
  9. After that, the distance between the cranes of the blocks is measured, taking into account the bends and turns of the line.
  10. Using a pipe cutter, the required length of a copper tube is cut off, nuts are put on the ends of which and flared.
  11. A heater is put on the copper tubes, after which, together with the drainage tube and the connection wire, they are wound into a single whole, a foam pipe is put on them and carried into the prepared hole in the wall.

copper ends and drainage tube immediately close the rolling field with vinyl adhesive tape to prevent dirt and dust from getting inside.

  12. After passing through the wall, the freon line is connected to the taps of the external block of the split system.
  13. Following the connection diagram, attach a five-core electrical cable to the external unit of the device.

Checking the system and the first start-up of the air conditioner

Before a trial run of the system, a vacuum procedure should be carried out to remove air that has entered the system from the tubes and moisture from the circuit. To do this, connect the vacuum pump to the nipple located on the service taps and turn it on. The pump will evacuate the air, as indicated by the pressure gauge. When it shows a negative pressure value, you can turn it off and open the service valves of the freon line and make the first test start. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pbLqOrHYS1Q

Advice:
Installing an air conditioner in your own home is a laborious job that requires experience and certain knowledge, so trust it exclusively to professionals. This will be the key to a long and efficient operation of climate technology.

This manual is given to you as an introduction to the steps and steps of installing the air conditioner. If hot days have come, but you still haven’t installed the air conditioner, then try it from improvised means. This will help you maintain a good indoor climate.

remember, that self-installation air conditioning equipment can cost you additional financial costs for its repair due to improper installation. Do not take risks and invite professionals to do this work.

If your apartment is being renovated, then the installation of the air conditioner should be carried out until the moment when Finishing work. In this case, all communications are easily hidden in the wall, besides, the installation of air conditioners in a room at the repair stage will be 1.5 times cheaper than in a room with finishing.

A few tips for those who are going to buy air conditioning. If your apartment is being renovated, then the installation of the air conditioner should be carried out before the moment when the finishing work takes place. In this case, all communications are easily hidden in the wall, besides, the installation of air conditioners in a room at the repair stage will be 1.5 times cheaper than in a room with finishing. When choosing an air conditioner, it is necessary to correctly calculate its power, taking into account all sources of heat release.

It is better to install a more powerful model, which is guaranteed to maintain comfortable conditions even on very hot days and extend the life of the air conditioner. Inverter models provide more comfortable maintenance of the set temperature in the room, while significantly saving electricity (at times). When using an air conditioner (with a heat-cold function) to heat a room in the off-season (when the heating is turned off), 3-4 kilowatts of heat is supplied to the room for every kilowatt of electricity consumed. Consider in advance the place where you are going to install the outdoor unit of the air conditioner. You should not ask installers to install it on a blank outer wall of a 10-story high-rise. Installation of such a unit will cost much more, and maintenance in general will cause a lot of trouble. The outdoor unit needs cleaning. It is much better in such a situation, the external unit of the air conditioner will fit the balcony, or another inconspicuous place. When installing the indoor unit, it is necessary to ensure, firstly, a normal air flow to the unit, and secondly, so that the outgoing air flow does not fall on workplace or place of rest for people.

It is also unacceptable to have any obstacle closer than 2 meters from the outlets of the indoor unit. A standard air conditioner is able to remove up to 2 liters of water per hour from the air, and therefore it is necessary to discuss the nuances of drainage in advance. Best Option there will be a challenge drainage water into the sewer, but if this is not possible, then it is necessary to bring the drainage to the street. But in winter, it is necessary to provide heating of the drainage system, which will protect against freezing of water and failure of the air conditioner. In no case do not agree to drain condensate into a jar. This not only spoils the interior, but there will also be problems with the constant draining of water. Window air conditioning should not be blocked by blinds or blackout curtains. In this case, its performance will drop significantly. If your office or home has uPVC or double glazing windows, then installing a window air conditioner will cost a lot. In addition, the air conditioner will not be able to work on the hood. It should also be remembered that when cold or hot air is emitted from a window air conditioner, you should not sit near it at a distance of less than 1.5 meters.

You should ask in advance about the volume of the condensate collector for mobile monoblocks. If it is small, then you will often have to drain the water, while the air conditioner itself turns off when the tank is filled with condensate. A comfortable state of a person is a thing that is difficult to overestimate. Therefore, in order for the air conditioner to please you during the entire time of its operation, you must choose the option that suits your room.

The air conditioner (split system) consists of two blocks: internal and external, which are interconnected by freon lines and communication / power wires (air conditioner route).

Choosing the installation location of the indoor unit

Tip 1. Install the indoor unit in such a way that the air flows created by it are not directed to the place of permanent residence of a person (working / sleeping place), the location of animals.

Tip 2. Do not place the indoor unit of the air conditioner above the bed, because the indoor unit of any model and manufacturer (including premium models) creates a sound pressure of 20-42 dB, depending on the set fan speed, and this noise level can interfere with a restful sleep .

Below is an example of how not to place the indoor units of air conditioners:

Tip 3. One air conditioner - one room. An air conditioner is an air treatment device designed to treat the air in one room. If you install an air conditioner in two rooms, you may experience uncomfortable conditions in one of the rooms.

Tip 4. The upper cut of the indoor unit must be at least 100 mm from the ceiling plane for proper air circulation at the air intake point.

Tip 5 Choose a location for installing the air conditioner, with the possibility of gravitational condensate drainage. When working for cooling, condensate accumulates on the radiator of the indoor unit, it can be removed in two ways: gravity (a drain hose is laid from the air conditioner, leading under a natural slope to the outdoor unit, or through a special siphon - into the sewer) and forced (condensate enters the bath of a special pump-pump After filling the bath, the pump motor is turned on and the condensate is removed through a capillary hose, which can be laid without a natural slope). The gravity drain option is preferable, because the pumps often fail and make increased noise when triggered.

Tip 6 The length of the route from the inner to the outer block must not exceed the limit values. Each air conditioner has a limit value for the length of communications between the indoor and outdoor unit (in household models, mostly 15 - 20 meters). If this value is exceeded, the equipment will not work correctly.

Tip 7. The height difference between the outdoor and indoor units should not exceed the allowable values specified in the manufacturer's instructions (usually this figure is 7-12 meters for household models).

Important: indicators of the maximum length of the route and the height difference are not summed up. That is, the track cannot be 20 meters long with a height difference of 12 meters.

After you have decided on the installation location of the indoor unit, let's proceed to the installation of the external

Selecting the installation location for the outdoor unit of the air conditioner.

Tip 8 The outdoor unit must be available! Usually, the outdoor unit is installed under the window of the room where the indoor unit is located, but there are times when the management company of the house sets its own rules for installing outdoor units (in most cases, these are new houses) - this can be a special basket for the air conditioner (as in the picture) ,

or specially designated balconies - as in our example.

And here is a clear example of how not to install an external unit

This air conditioner was installed by an industrial climber, it was “hung out” with this unit from the roof of the building. Now the owner of this work of art will have to call an industrial climber every year during scheduled maintenance of the outdoor unit (the service costs about 8,000 rubles), coordinate the access of a specialist to the roof (access will be agreed only if there is a special permit and access to high-altitude work).

Perhaps this is all that can be said about choosing a place to install an air conditioner. If you have any problems or questions when choosing an installation site, we are always ready to provide competent technical advice on site.
