The wall in the hallway do-it-yourself drawings detailing. DIY hallway with photo: complete instructions

The entrance hall creates the first impression of the interior of the house, should have Beautiful design, be comfortable. It contains furniture for various purposes: wardrobe, mirror, bedside table, hanger, chest of drawers. It is also a good idea to place seating furniture: a bench, an armchair, they will complement the design. So, a do-it-yourself entrance hall allows you to choose any design as in the photo that the owner of the house wishes.

When creating a hallway, you can use drawings, diagrams, photos that can be found on the Internet or create your own drawings. Creating furniture will be easier if you use blueprints. The design of the hallway is not the last place in the interior of the whole house. Wood furniture photo will look good. Complement the design with wooden floors or laminate.

It is quite possible to create any of the elements of the hallway with your own hands.

Cabinet with one sash

Manufacturing steps:

  • work begins with the preparation of a canvas measuring 1700x400x18. Marking is applied to it, the side part is cut out. The next element is the shelf, the bottom. Next, we are working on face side, which is attached under the bottom of the photo;
  • when everything is ready, holes are cut out to which dowels for furniture are attached. Places for cutting out are chosen at your discretion. If the lining is made with a plinth, then a place is cut out on the back so that the sawn part fits snugly to it;
  • we turn to sawing the door: it is better to use the material from which the frame is made. Cut holes for hinges. It is better to choose hinges with which the door closes at the level of the cabinet base. Hinges, during the installation of which the door is displaced from the base, it is better not to take;
  • the next step is to coat the dowels and holes with glue. Then the dowels are installed in the holes and the frame is glued together. When the parts are fully assembled, it must be fixed with self-tapping screws. Only after attach the door;
  • we cut out the skids, drawers are installed on them. They are located in the entire width of the side wall. To make the skids, you need a sheet of plywood from which you need to cut two canvases about 16 mm wide. When the runners are ready, they are attached inside, where the bottom of the drawer is located;
  • after the skids are installed, you can proceed to the creation of the photo drawer itself. We cut out the bottom, which is made of plywood;
  • from the boards we cut out the back wall, two sides. After they are made, we fasten the walls with self-tapping screws to the bottom.

To prevent cracks in plywood, holes must be made before screwing in the screws. It remains to make only the front of the drawer. We make the upper part, the lid and fasten it to the body with furniture edges.

Double cabinet made of wood

The manufacturing process of a bedside table with two doors is similar to a single door bedside table. First, a frame is made, we mark it, then we cut it out. Slots are made on the sides so that the bedside table fits snugly against the wall. Next, cut out the plank for the plywood shelf. The dimensions are the same with a single-leaf pedestal.

Most often there are several departments. One department occupies a quarter of the entire structure in width, and in height the whole place. The rest of the place is occupied by the second division. It is divided into two parts by a horizontal shelf.

All parts of wood are fastened together, they are pre-glued and dowels are installed, as shown in the photo. After all parts are fixed with screws. Next, we cut out the doors and install them so that there is no deviation when closing.

Hanger

In the manufacture of hangers, we select several boards of wood. Boards must be the same length. We describe the option of how to make a hanger from blocks, if desired, you can make a hanger with a large number of blocks:

    • lays out the boards on the surface so that there is free space between them. At the top of the hanger, they are attached to the rail at the level where the hooks will be attached;
    • we proceed to the manufacture of a shelf for hats, its size completely coincides with the size of the hanger;
    • when the shelf is prepared, it is attached to the hanger with self-tapping screws. Ribs are attached to each side of the shelf to keep hats from falling off the shelf;
    • Now that everything is ready, we mount the hanger on the wall where we planned to attach it. If the boards are too long, then they should be cut to the level of the cabinet. When the hanger is shortened to the desired level, you can use it.

Pencil case

There is nothing complicated in the production of a pencil case. You need to purchase a furniture board, cut out of it: a wall, a bottom, a front part, a cover, two back walls, they cut out a place for a plinth so that the cabinet fits snugly against the wall.

Work plan:

  1. the frame is assembled. First, we coat the holes and dowels with furniture glue. After they are attached to the place, assembling the frame, then it is fixed with self-tapping screws;
  2. now we cut out two canvases that will serve as sashes. Holes are made in each of them, into which three loops are attached;
  3. now we determine how many shelves there will be. We divide the height into equal sections, for each shelf and set the fasteners at the desired level;
  4. cut shelves and install. At the end of the work we attach the sash.

Closet

Consider how to make a closet that can be placed even in the smallest hallway design. It will be mounted on legs that are attached to it with self-tapping screws, they have a height of 55 cm, the dimensions of the self-tapping screws are 4 × 16, so a gap is formed from below. No more information is needed about these supports, now let's pay attention to the assembly. First, let's define the dimensions of the parts.

Wardrobe in the hallway

Materials for creation:

    • Chipboard laminated;
    • painted hardboard;
    • melamine edge, adhesive backing.

The facade is made to order, it is made of an aluminum frame, fastened with three hinges, a photo mirror is fixed in the frame.

Preliminary cabinet drawing

This is a more expensive option, but you can use a more budgetary one. The mirror can be glued to a chipboard sheet using special photo glue. It will turn out a bulky and heavy facade, relative to the custom version. For it, you need to purchase at least 4 hinges, it is better to attach the cabinet to the wall, so it will be more reliable. Otherwise, it will fall when the door opens. Therefore, it is worth deciding on the facade option yourself.

To assemble the frame, you need to purchase chipboard sheets of the following sizes:

    • 1 sheet 390 x 460, cover;
    • 2 sheets 990 x 480, top, bottom;
    • 1 sheet 380 x 390, shelf;
    • 1 sheet 2110 x 390, back;
    • 2 sheets 2110 x 460, side parts;
    • 1 sheet 400 x 440, sides of the nightstand;
    • 1 sheet 570 x 430, shelf;
    • 1 sheet 400 x 365, cabinet door;
    • 1 sheet 2030 x 600, back wall.

Measurements in millimeters.

Before making a closet, you need to choose a place where places that are often used will not be closed. The frame is easy to put together.

When collecting, tools are used:

    • screwdriver with high power;
    • a couple of wood drills;
    • a set of fasteners, with a hexagon for confirmations;
    • pencil;
    • ruler;
    • hammer.

Furniture making tools

Specialized fittings:

    • retractable bar: length 410 mm. Attaches to the bottom of the shelf. Hangers are placed flush with the front;
    • four articulated internal hinges. 6 pieces (2 pieces for a shoe cabinet, 4 pieces for a large door);
    • hooks, handles: they create a design, the choice is varied.

Required fittings

To match the fasteners, it is better to place the inner shelf 35 mm higher. They produce screeds for confirmations. Under them, details are drilled into the end and into the plane. Fasteners are standard 5 by 73 mm. In the plane of the hole through the diameter of 8.5 mm. The markup is placed depending on the number of parts. Such as sidewalls, facades, back of the open part.

Orgali are fixed with screws or nailed. If there is enough free time, then it is better to choose the first method. The second method is better to choose if you do not have a large margin of time. In the first and second options, it is important to observe that the structure remains rectangular. If this requirement is not met, then the facades will look unattractive and will not be able to close well.

Wardrobe behind the door

The place behind the door is ideal for placing a wardrobe. By installing it, the wall will be protected from damage that a doorknob can do. You will need an inch board, a layer that is pre-pasted with wallpaper and varnished or painted. Lacquer is used if the wallpaper is suitable for the design of the room. Paper for pasting is used to prevent warping of the board during operation.

Cut out blanks similar in size to the door:

      • side stand;
      • shelves.

The parts are connected with self-tapping screws, with large caps-washers. Shelves are attached to the wall using corners or rails. The rack is attached to the side with corners, or with a hidden mount.

A canopy-loop is installed at the back to the end, a self-tapping screw is screwed into the wall and a loop with a sidewall is put on it.

Attaching doors to cabinet

Hidden fasteners can be used for shelves. If the cabinet is fixed with hidden fasteners, then if necessary it can be easily removed. How to make your entrance hall, and what design to choose, only the owner of the house can decide, and whether to use the recommendations given in this article or not, this is only his decision.

Trying to save money or realize their idea without contacting designers and planners, many people think how to make a hallway with their own hands. This is quite an affordable business, but it is important to take into account some principles and know all the subtleties.

Kinds

By outward appearance In the "entrance" room, all your guests and even just casual visitors will add up the impression of the home as a whole. Think carefully about the concept, the main idea of the whole room. And then only get to work when you are sure that the idea is practical, and its implementation will lead to the optimal result.

A hand-made hallway is in any case more unique than a custom-made one. But freed from the "guardianship" of designers and engineers of the furniture industry, you will have to figure out all the nuances on your own. The main types of these rooms are corner, open, compartment and swing, depending on the specific type, the requirements for furniture also differ.

In the corner room, absolutely everything is subordinated to the idea of maximizing the use of space, or rather, an empty corner. On the sides of the closet can stand open shelves, in other places, cabinets and hangers of a classic look are placed. You can additionally save the area of \u200b\u200bthe corridor if the cabinet doors are mirrored.

The open type of hallways contains the very minimum of furniture - obviously it will not be soft, sometimes you can’t find a closet either. If it exists, it is relatively small, for hanging clothes they use hooks and hangers that are visible to everyone. The opposite is a room in the compartment format, in which wardrobes of the same type are invariably placed. It easily accommodates the personal belongings of everyone who lives in the apartment, sometimes you don’t even have to look for a place to wear clothes for different seasons.

Material

Among all materials, it is advisable to give preference to furniture panels - they are superior simple boards from pine and other types of wood, do not contain synthetic resin or other artificial component. They have only one minus - it's a solid price.

The use of chipboard, plywood, drywall is attractive in cases where cost considerations are in the first place for you. Do not be afraid, however, to make an error against the canons of style, the possibility of design modern materials are big enough.

If you can use MDF instead of chipboard or take finished parts from old furniture, that's exactly what you should do. This will allow you to perform the work more efficiently, get an aesthetically complete result, and the furniture will be better in terms of environmental parameters. The use of improvised materials is much more convenient and easier than trying to use steel or aluminum pipes, because metal processing at home is quite complicated.

The veneer is not too heavy, but the material is expensive; when choosing between melamine and laminate, you should definitely give preference to the second one, as it is stronger and more durable.

Dimensions

When the material is selected, you need to decide on the dimensions of the future structure (or several furniture designs).

Even if the size of the corridor is “mini”, try to place in it:

  • Place for storing clothes;
  • Shoe cabinet;
  • Sitting for convenient change of footwear;
  • Several shelves for various little things;
  • Storage system for hats, umbrellas and bags.

All these functions can be performed by combined pieces of furniture that help save space. With an acute shortage of space, it is worth limiting yourself to a compact floor or wall corner hanger connected to a shoe rack and a small soft seat. If a cabinet is placed, its minimum depth should be 40 centimeters (it simply does not make sense to do less). For a corner cabinet, the optimal parameters would be a length and width of 0.9 meters, a height of 2.5 meters, but provided that the ceiling height allows.

Colors

The coloring of the furniture in the hallway is very important point in its design; according to designers, it should be selected in harmony with:

  • wall color;
  • Color characteristics of other rooms;
  • The total area of the hallway itself.

Light colors always add not only space, but also a feeling of freshness, the room will look more modern. For narrow corridors, elongated in length, brown and other heavy colors are categorically unacceptable. They will create the impression of being in a strange gloomy tunnel. If the area is large enough, then the white walls will evoke associations with a clinic or laboratory.

Conclusion: furniture should not be painted in the same colors as the walls.

Fittings

Door hinges and ties, handles, mechanics for folding doors are used. There are also rods for hanging hangers, shelf and drawer holders, shoe cassettes and metal mesh boxes.

Swing doors are most often hung on four-hinged hinges, and if a more compact one is required door block, use furniture blinds of German and Italian production. It is not recommended to take corner ties, their appearance will not fit into any decent interior.

Required tools

You will definitely need:

  • Saw or electric jigsaw;
  • Construction knife;
  • Roulette measuring;
  • Emery;
  • Screwdriver.

From Supplies you will need screws for furniture, corners and door hinges.

We make drawings and diagrams

It makes sense for both beginners and experienced home craftsmen to draw up drawings and diagrams, because even the most prepared can make a mistake, do something wrong or miss an important circumstance. Immediately decide on the dimensions and geometric configuration, with what types of furniture will be used. In a spacious room, you can put a wardrobe, and if there is not enough space, you will have to draw a corner hallway.

Filling features

At a level below 70 centimeters, it is advisable to fix not roll-out boxes, but baskets in the form of a grid (they are more convenient and do not collect dirt so much when storing shoes). Using modern brackets, you can put such a basket in a closet much wider than they are. Given, again, the relatively small dimensions of the hallways, all furniture components in them should be smaller than those used in other rooms.

Style

Format country It attracts the attention of designers for good reason, because it brings a feeling of coziness and comfort to the room.

Scandinavian style is a combination of warm natural shades as accents and a general light background. The Art Nouveau style, also known as Art Nouveau, is distinguished by curved lines that look like plant stems. modern hallway has no definite framework, it can take the best from all other styles, and at the same time, the design cannot be reduced to one of them.

Provencal style favorably beaten and emotionally enhanced just due to antique decor. But in the "Scandinavian" hallway unnecessary decorative elements out of place, there should be nothing that is not absolutely necessary. In the interior in the spirit of Art Nouveau, on the contrary, it is very useful to introduce luxurious gilded details. If exquisite mirrors are placed, bright color accents are made, this will only be a plus.

Design

In the hallway of the Khrushchev apartment, it is advisable to use minimalist furniture. Refuse unnecessarily small details, try to ensure that all elements of the headset are made uniformly. Closed storage systems are preferable to open ones, they do not create a feeling of overcrowding space and bad taste. Only in the cramped rooms does it make sense to put an open hanger instead of a closet or drawer. Visual softening of corners and maximum smoothness of lines are other important requirements for the design of furniture for the corridor.

With all the beauty natural stone, embossed panels and similar volumetric solutions, discard them - the absorption of space is too bad for the feeling of it. Important: do not use large patterns, they only spoil the impression. Finishing both furniture and walls, use only high-quality materials and designs that long time will not lose their attractive appearance.

How to do?

If you decide to make the situation wooden, you will need furniture panels, boards with dimensions of 200x12x1.6 centimeters, a grooved board 200x24x1.8 centimeters, three-meter slats, plywood, hinges and handles. Other components may be required depending on the specific idea. It is recommended to start work with the assembly of the cabinet (with dimensions, for example, 82x40x4 cm); the tops of the sidewalls at the corners are sawn off to narrow the lid compared to the main body. To connect the parts, self-tapping screws are used; at the bottom, the corners under the plinth are necessarily cut out. The front bar should be fixed with dowels.

Then you need to make a simple door (dimensions 40 by 40), drill holes for the hinges and install the part. Runners are made for a roll-out drawer in the upper lobe of the bedside table, they are cut out of plywood and fastened on the sides.

Next comes the turn of the cabinet cover (attached to the dowels), it is required to hammer short furniture nails into the upper ends of the sidewalls by about two-thirds. Attach the cover and press on it, so the holes will be marked. They are drilled, a cover is installed on the dowels and glue. In order for the adhesion of the adhesive layer to be better, a heavy load should be placed on top.

The next step is to make a cabinet, which should be different from the previous one, its dimensions are 82x49x40 centimeters. To make internal shelves or not, and how exactly, is up to you. From the sides, the structure is fastened with self-tapping screws, and dowels will hold the upper segment of the median partition. The doors will need to be sawn out, the hinges fixed, the front plate and cuts for the skirting boards prepared.

A wardrobe is a popular type of storage furniture that allows you to make the most of even not very convenient places at home. A do-it-yourself closet made in the hallway, in addition, helps to achieve this without too much expense.

Make the Right Choice

First, decide on the appearance, size of the desired furniture. If the corridor is very small, do not overload the room with large forms.

After all, the main thing that is needed here is a compartment or a hanger for outerwear, a place for shoes, a shelf for bags, hats, as well as small drawers that will allow you to have the necessary little things at hand.

If the area of \u200b\u200bthe hallway allows, it is better to make a closet. There is a place for many things in it, it will turn the whole space from floor to ceiling into a useful one. When opening the doors, you will not be constrained, because they do not swing open, but move compactly to the sides. The mirror surface required in the hallway can be the outer part of the door. More efficient than a wardrobe is only a corner wardrobe. Of course, you will have to spend a little more, but the benefits of such an investment are obvious.

How to calculate cabinet dimensions

Before you start cutting and assembling the wardrobe in the hallway, you need to decide on the place where it will be installed, make accurate measurements, and draw up drawings. For the correct determination of parameters, the minimum indicators obtained during measurements are taken.

  • When installing a wardrobe in a niche between two walls, the width indicators are taken at least at three levels, then the smallest value is selected. Please note that the smallest possible cabinet width is 900 mm (and the sliding door is 450 mm). The largest length corresponds to the size of a sheet of laminated chipboard 2750 mm.
  • Determining the depth, step back from the doorway, switch, other object at least 50 mm. The minimum possible cabinet depth is 350 mm, and the largest is 900 mm.
  • The height of the product can be arbitrary, but not more size sliding door, which is made of solid glass, mirror (2950x1050 mm) or chipboard sheet (2750x1300 mm). You should also take into account the way in which all the details will get into the apartment or house (the dimensions of the doorway, staircase, elevator, etc.).
  • In order for a sliding system to function well, the doors must be the right size. In principle, the wider the structure, the more stable it is (but preferably no more than 1200 mm). That is, the width of one door should be at least ¼ of the height of the cabinet.

After that, you can consider ready-made drawings of cabinets, pick up one of them or make it yourself. Plan your filling to include part dimensions and hole marks in your own drawing.

Features of filling the closet in the hallway

Since our closet should become part of the corridor, its main task is to place shoes for the street, as well as outerwear. Therefore, the compartments for these things must be made capacious and spacious. And shelves and drawers should provide convenient places to store bags, umbrellas, hats, clothing and shoe care products.

If the size of the hallway allows you to organize two sections for clothes, then one will be for seasonal items, and in the other for storage. A sliding wardrobe with a depth of 450 mm is equipped with a retractable hanger, and with a depth of 600 mm - with a pipe rod. The minimum filling of the wardrobe in the hallway is a department with a bar for outerwear and a second one with shelves and drawers. Moreover, it is better to place the latter not high and not low, so that it is convenient to open and see their contents.

When preparing the drawings of future furniture for the corridor yourself, you need to take into account that with a box depth of, for example, 600 mm, it consists of two sidewalls, a bottom and a roof with a plinth (70-100 mm). The depth of the shelves will be 500 mm. The internal frame, partitions and shelves are made of chipboard, which has a thickness of 16 mm. For shelves, a minimum of 400-500 mm wide is allocated. To accommodate clothes - from 600 to 1200 mm, the height of this compartment is in the range of 800-1600 mm. All your requirements for the parameters of the compartments should be included in the cabinet layout or diverse drawings if your cabinet is complex or angular.

Sawing cabinet parts

If the drawings with dimensions are already ready, for the manufacture (sawing) of precise parts, you need not only raw material but also special devices. Today, these are robotic systems controlled by a computer.

And also a master who has the necessary knowledge and skills. Therefore, if you do not have the necessary skills and equipment, it is better to turn to specialists. They will also seal the front ends for the cabinet with an edge to match the base material. If a thick edge is to be used, this should be reflected and taken into account in your drawings.

Materials and tools for making a cabinet

So, the blanks of the wardrobe (the ends of some parts are already finished with a melamine edge 0.5 mm thick):

  • 2 sidewalls;
  • top;
  • front and rear plinths (2 pcs.);
  • 2 partitions;
  • top shelf;
  • 7 shelves;
  • 3 sides of the plinth box;
  • 2 ribs of the plinth box;
  • hardboard placed horizontally to close the space between the top cover and the shelf;
  • vertically located hardboard on one leaf;
  • vertically located hardboard on two doors.

Furniture fittings:

  • 4 screws 16 mm;
  • 5 confirmations 70 mm;
  • 2 bars for hangers;
  • rod holders;
  • metal furniture corners;
  • it is desirable to prepare shelf supports, they will allow you to adjust the height of the shelves;
  • screws or nails;
  • sliding doors and roller rack systems for them.

The following tools will come in handy in your work: drill, drills, screwdriver, core, tape measure, square, pencil, level.

Cabinet assembly

  1. If your drawings include drawers, start with them. Assemble the frame using confirmations, then screw the bottom part, attach the parts that are part of the roll-out telescopic system.
  2. Fold all the shelves evenly, mark the indents and draw a vertical line under the square along the ends of the identical parts. Using a punch, mark the holes on the ends. Make holes with a drill.
  3. Screw on the fixed parts of the telescopic drawer slides.
  4. On the inner surface of the cabinet partitions, apply markings for the installation of shelves, these designations will disappear when the parts are installed in their places. Do through hole in the marked places, and then you can make a countersink with outer side.
  5. We assemble the frame of our wardrobe. To increase rigidity, be sure to install screeds.
  6. Screw the bottom of the cabinet, install the bottom supports.
  7. We install the resulting structure vertically, after which we attach the cabinet cover to the furniture corners.
  8. We put the drawers in their places.
  9. We install the rear walls of the wardrobe and fix them with self-tapping screws.
  10. Install clothes rails.
  11. Adjusting drawer fronts.

We mount doors

Sliding doors for wardrobes are suspended and rail. Rail structures give a load to the lower guide, and suspended structures - to the top. Each mounting method has its own advantages. To avoid problems, it is better to order doors from a company that sells rail systems for such products.

  1. Using self-tapping screws, we fasten the top rail to the level with the edge of the cabinet roof.
  2. We also fasten the lower rail with self-tapping screws to the bottom, retreating 20 mm from the outer edge.
  3. Inserting door leafs as high as possible, we combine the lower roller screwed to the door with the groove of the lower rail.
  4. Using a hex wrench, we adjust the gaps between the side and outer doors.
  5. Under the lower roller of the closet door with a screwdriver, set the stoppers.

Features of corner cabinets in the hallway

If you want to make a corner roomy closet in the hallway with your own hands, choose a model, taking into account the area, your desires and material capabilities. Such a cabinet can be made in three main versions:

  1. corner wardrobe with a diagonal (transitional) wardrobe,
  2. L-shaped (or corner with a joint),
  3. diagonal cabinet.
  • Two conventional structures located along the walls are connected and fastened with a transitional (diagonal) cabinet. Usually this transitional part is closed with a traditional hinged door, which has the same appearance as the rest of the compartment doors, the difference is only in the opening mechanism. The diagonal cabinet smoothes the corner. It has, as a rule, a compartment for outerwear (bars for the entire length parallel to one of the walls), shelves are placed on the side.

  • Corner wardrobe, which has the shape of a right angle. This arrangement is more popular. This wardrobe is just as spacious, it consists of two modules connected at 90 degrees.

  • The diagonal cabinet is distinguished by a facade that is located diagonally to the corner. It is a small dressing room that you can enter. Such a cabinet is only suitable for a spacious hallway, as it cuts off the entire corner and significantly reduces the area of \u200b\u200bthe corridor. But if your goal is to save money, then this is a good opportunity. Compared to previous options, the diagonal design reduces the area of the facade (the most expensive part of the cabinet) by 2 times, which reduces the cost of purchasing materials. The diagonal corner cabinet, being bulky, has almost the same storage capacity as previous models.

Designed and assembled corner cabinets on the same principles as regular ones. Of course, it’s quite difficult to make a full-fledged wardrobe in the corridor yourself, but to plan, create detailed drawing and it is quite possible to collect blanks.

When choosing new furniture in the hallway, everyone wants it to meet all the stated needs, to be beautiful, not bulky, roomy, affordable and made of quality materials. However, given the characteristics of the hallways, not every ready-made furniture set will suit you in size, color or type.

Making furniture in the hallway with your own hands, you can fit it exactly to the size of the room, as well as choose suitable color material.

In this situation ideal option will be making furniture in the hallway with your own hands. Already here you can independently choose the material of the tree, if necessary, paint it in the color you need and, most importantly, independently determine the set of furniture you need and exactly with those sizes that are suitable only for your hallway.

At first glance, it seems difficult and even unrealistic process self-manufacturing furniture, but in fact, everything is not so difficult. Of course, to start making furniture, you need to have certain skills in this area, be able to work with basic tools and know the basic technologies that allow you to properly connect individual furniture structures.

So, let's get started and try to make the furniture in the hallway on our own, so that later we can assemble it into a single complex.

Tools and materials

For this work, we need certain tools: a drill;

Without a screwdriver, the work of assembling furniture can last more than one day.

  • screwdriver;
  • self-tapping screws;
  • sandpaper;
  • screwdriver;
  • saw;
  • various drills.

In addition to tools, you will need the following materials:

  • furniture boards (mainly made of pine, beech) sized 1600*400*18 mm and 2000*400*18 mm;
  • boards measuring 1600 * 120 * 16 mm;
  • slats 3000*40*12 mm in size;
  • plywood 6 mm thick;
  • hinges for furniture;
  • furniture handles;
  • wooden dowels.

We will make one single-door bedside table, the other two-door one, a pencil case and a clothes hanger.

Production of a single-door bedside table

The device of a conventional cabinet-pencil case.

Let's start with a one-door bedside table. We determine the height of our future pedestal and cut out two sides from a shield 1600 mm high the same size corresponding to the selected height. If there are skirting boards in the hallway, then on one side these two side panels are sawn off so that the bedside table fits snugly against the wall. In the upper part, we also cut it at an angle so that the top cover is narrower than the main bedside table. We fasten the two panels with self-tapping screws by inserting the lower and upper bases. At the same time, from below, we do not make the base straight to the floor, but a little higher, removing the resulting gap with the front panel using wooden dowels. From above, we fix the base in the place where the cut begins. The back panel, if necessary, is made of plywood. Next, we cut out the door of the bedside table of such a size that it fits over it drawer, and using a special drill we make holes for the door hinges. Using furniture hinges, you need to attach the door to the frame of the nightstand.

From plywood we cut the skids for the drawers of the cabinet. For reliability, it is better to cut them out along the entire depth of the cabinet. We attach them on both sides of our frame. From plywood we make the bottom bar for the box, taking into account the fact that it should fit into the holes of the runners, the back and side panels of the box. The front panel is made from furniture board slightly wider than the box itself.

We fasten the parts of the box with self-tapping screws. We attach the front panel after we fasten the handle to it and varnish it.

We cut out the top cover of the nightstand and fasten it with dowels and glue. The nightstand is ready.

Production of a two-door pedestal and cabinet-pencil case

Drawing cabinets for shoes.

Now we make a two-door nightstand. According to the dimensions you need, we cut out the side panels, the upper and lower bases, stepping back a certain distance from the bottom and closing it with a front panel, making cuts under the plinth. At the same time, the height of this bedside table should be lower than in the previous bedside table. The result is a rectangular frame. Everyone chooses the internal content for himself according to his desire, placing partitions and shelves. From the sides, everything is fastened with self-tapping screws, the upper and lower covers are attached with wooden dowels. Next, doors of appropriate sizes are cut out and attached to our frame using furniture hinges. The back panel is made of plywood.

Next, we proceed to the manufacture of the cabinet-pencil case. We saw out side panels of the required depth from large shields, as well as the lower base, the central shelf and the upper base. It is recommended to divide the cabinet into two compartments in height so that the doors are light. Do not forget to make cuts for the baseboards and raise the lower base slightly above the floor. The whole structure is fastened with self-tapping screws. From large shields, two doors are cut, the same in height. With the help of furniture hinges and a special drill, the doors must be attached to the frame of the cabinet-pencil case. The door is recommended to be hung on 3 hinges for greater reliability. The back wall is made of plywood. Internal filling, again, everyone chooses on their own. Shelves are fastened with special shelf fasteners. Here is your wardrobe ready.

Now we collect all the elements of furniture in one place, arranging them in the following sequence: first a single-door bedside table, then a two-door bedside table and then a pencil case. Now in the resulting place above the two-door bedside table we will make a clothes hanger.

Making a clothes hanger

To do this, the boards are sawn with the same height, which should not exceed the height of the cabinet-pencil case and should begin above the two-door bedside table, and are attached to a horizontal rail with a certain distance from each other. The width of this design should match the width of the two-door bedside table. It turned out something like a rectangular lattice. From above, stepping back a short distance from the edge, a shelf for hats is attached to the entire width of the hanger. Using sandpaper, you need to process every detail of the hanger and varnish it. This hanger is attached to the wall with self-tapping screws above the two-door bedside table. Hooks for clothes are attached with self-tapping screws.

Now in our design there is a place above the single-door bedside table. In this place you can hang a mirror. It will look beautiful and harmonious if the dimensions of the mirror do not crawl up behind the closet and to the side behind a single-door bedside table.

All resulting furniture must be varnished. We attach handles to all front doors with the help of the same screws, put locks and other accessories if necessary. If you did everything right and conscientiously approached your work, then in the end you got furniture set in the hallway, which is suitable both for outerwear, which is convenient to hang on the open part of the hanger and put away in the closet as needed, for shoes, which are convenient to put in boxes in the nightstand. Convenient shelf for hats will allow you to carefully store them and exclude the possibility of their loss. A convenient mirror, with a beautiful edging to match the style of your corridor, will give you the opportunity to put yourself in order right within the corridor.

With minimal material costs and with a small set of tools that are in almost every apartment, if you have a desire, you can make yourself a wonderful and necessary set of furniture in your hallway.

If desired, instead of varnish, the furniture in the corridor can be covered with paint of the shade you need. Front surface doors can be made additional materials such as bamboo panels, mesh panels, glass shelves, doors. If necessary, the handles can be changed to others, thereby slightly changing the external image of your corridor wall.

Self-production of the hallway turned out to be not so difficult, very convenient and very in an accessible way ennoble your boring interior.

The entrance hall is the very place from which the house begins, and the first impression of it is formed, therefore it is especially important that such a room looks beautiful and original. To make a unique and harmonious environment, the hallway can be decorated with your own hands. Then with full confidence it will be possible to say that it exists in a single version.

The scope of imagination is not limited by anything, and any ideas can be realized.

Pros and cons

Currently, almost anyone can do the design of the hallway on their own. You can buy a ready-made set of materials in stores, which you just need to assemble yourself at home. It is also possible to order the manufacture of the necessary parts on individual sizes and preferences. And if there is an opportunity and the necessary tools, then it is possible to make all the components yourself. In any case, if you take on the manufacture of furniture with your own hands, there are pros and cons to this.

The advantages include:

  • original design;
  • compliance of furniture with the required dimensions with a minimum error;
  • the cost of home-made furniture is several times less than finished;
  • fun pastime.

The disadvantages of such design solutions are the following nuances:

  • as a result, the product may not turn out as perfect as bought in a store;
  • making furniture takes a lot of time and effort;
  • in the course of work, a lot of dirt and dust will appear, so the best option for the rest of the household is to be in a separate room at this time.

Required tools

In order to start the process of decorating the hallway, you should carefully prepare and stock up on everything you need. In addition to material or finished parts, you will need to prepare:

  • fittings (corners, hinges);
  • pencil and tape measure;
  • necessary fasteners (screws, bolts);
  • construction knife;
  • sandpaper;
  • small saw or jigsaw;
  • screwdriver or electric screwdriver;
  • materials for decoration and decor if necessary.

You will also need pre-prepared drawings and diagrams in the work.

How to do at home?

Making a hallway with your own hands is not as difficult as it might seem at first glance. Even a novice master can handle this. However, if there is little or no experience in creating furniture, it is better to start with simpler models.

Before starting work, it is worth deciding on the desired model and dimensions of future furniture. It is better to build on the dimensions of the room in which it will be located. Do not use all the space to the maximum. If the room is small, then there should be little furniture. You can limit yourself to a standard set of compartments for jackets and coats, shoes and various small things.

This will be especially true for urban apartments.

If the hallway is planned to be done in a private house or in the country, it is better to create a more spacious environment. If space allows, a wardrobe or even a small dressing room, fenced, is ideal for it. sliding doors. It is worth considering that this option will be somewhat more expensive. When deciding on the organization of the room, it is worth thinking about sitting where it would be convenient to put on shoes. For greater comfort, you can make it soft, for example, by covering the surface with foam rubber.

Having chosen the appropriate model, you can proceed to the next step - taking measurements. They must be removed with great care. On the same plane, it is better to make several measurements in different places. Between two numbers, the choice should always be made in the direction of the smaller one. Do not forget about the necessary gaps. On each side for future furniture, it is necessary to leave from 0.5-1 cm of free space.

materials

For the manufacture of furniture, you can use a variety of materials:

  • Chipboard is the most popular material. It is affordable, has a wide palette of various colors and is available in all hardware stores. In addition, he is unpretentious in his work. It is very convenient and easy to make furniture from it. When choosing a plate chipboard special attention should be paid to the manufacturer and the quality of the product. In the manufacture of such materials, harmful resins are used as a fastening element. It is important that their content does not exceed allowable norms, and also that the edges of the slabs are covered with a laminated edging;

  • Wood is an environmentally friendly material. It is durable and has an exceptional appearance: it looks very presentable and solid. However, at a cost it is an order of magnitude higher than, for example, laminated chipboard and requires compliance with special rules when caring for yourself. During the construction process, it is easy to work with it, as it lends itself to almost all types of processing. From the boards you can build almost any structure. This is the only material that can be left in its original form and not subjected to further processing;

  • The best option for working with wood are furniture boards. They are already prepared in a special way, so all that remains is to cut out the necessary details from them and proceed to the manufacture of the hallway.

The cut lines must be processed independently;

  • Plywood- very easy to process material. It has a low cost, strength, resistance to moisture, heat and other environmental factors, so it is very popular. For its manufacture, pine or birch veneer is used. Softwood plywood has a very beautiful pattern and is most often taken as the basis for furniture. Birch wood is more expensive. It has a contrasting structure and turns out to be monophonic;

  • Drywall- an option more suitable for building a dressing room. From it you can make any design and even a small new room. Even a beginner can build a structure, but you need to follow the instructions very carefully and perform each action clearly in accordance with them. Drywall allows you to build a box even in an uneven room, smoothing out all the defects.

With the help of drywall, you can create both vertical and horizontal structures, which gives room for imagination for decoration. Another plus of this material is that it can be used to mask any communications, and under the skin it is easy to stretch wires and pipes between the frame profiles.

As disadvantages of drywall, we can mention the low strength of the material. It is subject to deformation under the influence of moisture and external mechanical influences. In addition, the design itself with profiles takes up space, so it is better to build such a hallway or dressing room in spacious rooms.

improvised materials

As materials for the future hallway, you can use not only the usual options. The materials at hand can serve as the basis. The manufacture of such furniture will be inexpensive, it will look original and not inferior in appearance to products made from the usual wood or laminated chipboard.

From plastic bottles it can turn out to be an ottoman or a cabinet. They must be fastened together, for example, with adhesive tape and given the desired shape. To do this, you need to make a frame. For the base, you can use thick cardboard or plywood.

To give the product an aesthetic appearance, use foam rubber, fabric, faux fur or leather upholstery.

Similar is the construction of plumbing pipes. They are cut to the same length and fastened together into the desired frame with glue. To give a neat shape, it is better to close them with corrugated cardboard or plywood. It is better to fill the inside of the pipe with a dense material in order to prevent deformation of the finished product. For this, an old rug or thick fabric is suitable. Outside, the product can be painted or upholstered with a cloth.

Furniture made of wooden boxes or pallets looks original and very stylish. You can make an unusual wardrobe, clothes hanger, cabinet or shoe rack. The design is assembled very quickly and easily. The finished product can be painted with paint, supplemented with unusual fittings and decor. Things already used in the house that are no longer needed can be used. Enough to restore and ennoble them. You can use old doors, tires, vintage suitcases and chests, and even window frames.

Dimensions

The dimensions of the future environment depend on the size of the room. In large rooms, you can afford to put a large wardrobe, dressing room, shelves and a sofa. A street bench and a lantern look original in such an interior. All designers dream of furnishing a large room, since the flight of fancy in this case is not limited by anything, and you can afford to embody any ideas.

Solutions suitable for medium-sized rooms with a standard set of furniture for the hallway. It can include a small wardrobe, a small seat, a cabinet or chest of drawers for small items, as well as several wall shelves.

The most inconvenient option small space. It needs to fit everything you need, but do not clutter up the entire room with furniture. In this case, a mini-hallway is suitable. For clothes, you can use a wall-mounted flat hanger, for shoes - vertical structures, put a small pouffe as a seat, and think over a small shelf for small things. An excellent storage solution mezzanines, which are fixed under the ceiling.

Color

The color of the future hallway can be any. This is one of the main advantages of self-design. The finished product can be painted with paint, pasted over ordinary wallpaper or canvases with photo printing, decorative stickers, film. If you want to emphasize the natural beauty of wood, you can simply varnish it, or artificially age it by decorating furniture in a retro style.

When choosing a color, it is better to focus on light shades, since the hallway is often small in size, and dark furniture gives the impression of a cluttered space.

For the same purpose, the hallway must necessarily be with a mirror, moreover, the more mirrors the better. They will help visually enlarge the room.

Step-by-step instruction

It is better to start making a hallway with the simplest element - cabinets. So that in the course of work you do not have to correct errors, but ready product afterwards only rejoiced, you need to carefully think over each action in advance and stick to the plan:

  • determine the desired height of the product;
  • we cut out 2 identical side parts from the furniture board, according to a certain height;
  • we cut out an angle at the bottom of both parts, if there is a plinth, and the product will stand tightly against the wall;
  • we cut off the corner a little from above so that the upper part is narrower;
  • we cut out the lower base and cover from the furniture board, according to the selected width;

  • we connect the sidewalls, the lower and upper base with the help of fasteners (the lower base should be located just a few cm above the floor). It is also possible to make a plinth from a furniture board, which will close the gap between the floor and the lower base;
  • we make the back of plywood and fasten it with fasteners;
  • we cut out a door from a furniture board. It may not be at the full height of the cabinet, but lower, then a drawer will fit above it;
  • we make holes in the cabinet for the door and fasten it with hinges;

  • we make a box from a furniture board. The bottom can be cut out of plywood. The front part should be slightly higher than the rest of the details so that the contents of the box are closed. We fasten the details of the box with self-tapping screws;
  • we attach the guides to the drawer and cabinet, carefully taking measurements;
  • if necessary, we cut out the shelf, we make a mount for it;
  • assemble the product and attach the handles.

Big wardrobe done in a similar way. If you plan to store clothes in it, you need to consider its depth so that the coat hanger can fit. If space does not allow you to make furniture of sufficient depth, then for this you can choose an end hanger, which is suitable for shallow cabinets.

If a closet is planned, the frame is assembled in the same way as a cabinet, except for the doors. Guides for doors are attached to the lower and upper bases, which occupy 10 cm, so all shelves and drawers are made 10 cm less than the sidewalls in depth so that the doors can close.

Standard cabinet depth 60 cm.

In addition to the cabinet and cabinet, you can make wall hanger with hooks. To do this, it is enough to cut out of the shield right size, or several narrow boards that are interconnected by another transverse board. Vertical boards can be made curly by complementing them with contrasting color elements. The hanger is complemented by hooks and a top shelf.

Another way to get a new entrance hall is restore the old one. Updating must begin with surfaces. They need to be well cleaned of dirt, degreased and prepared for applying paint, glue, wallpaper or film. You can update not only the surface, but the entire structure: replace facades, fasteners, fittings, add decorative elements.

Accessories

Adding finished furniture with accessories is the finishing touch in the design of the hallway. The main thing is to decide in what style the room will be made:

  • for a retro style, you can use antique-styled items, vintage hooks and handles on furniture, put an old chest as a seat, hang large mirror in a carved frame and complement the picture with an old carpet with patterns;

  • modern style suggests a lot of light and space. For these purposes, it is better to use light shades, mirrors and glass. You can place mirror compositions on the walls, add original lamps and put a homemade pouffe of bright color;
